Li Ming probably had some sort of complex of "it belongs to me" purely because she was the firstborn and the sole girl. Or maybe it ran in the family? She was the only one of the litter to also look like a splice of her mother and grandmother, having also stolen while in the womb the tenacity of a cockroach of getting what she wanted. Oh, there was none of this blunt demanding business going on and forcing to submit to her will, no sirree; Li was far more dramatic than that. Princess? Hmph. Queen? Hardly. She was rogue royalty, yes, but spoiled in a very different manner. Perhaps it was due to, again, having only brothers to tussle with, for she was one of those gals that reeked of "entitlement", that ghastly but subtle air of presence that the more intuitive could pick up and roll their eyes at. There lay another selfish girl!
As it was, Li Ming was itching to explore their surroundings at last, having been cooped up in the den with Maia for forever it felt like. Stretching her little limbs, the orange femme greeted the morning with a full-out yawn, baring her little teeth to the gray skies. Great, they weren't even getting a bright welcome! It was probably going to snow later . . . Just awesome. "Soar free, soar high, huh?" Li Ming thought aloud, repeating The Aves' little mantra. "I better hope that's not what they say if a hawk goes and picks up a pup. ThoughIbetflyingwouldbesomuchfun . . . Oy, hurry up, you two, you're killing daylight!"

"If only your brains were as big as your mouth," Cethin yawned in reply, opening one eye to glare at his sister. It wasn't that he minded rising early, but sometimes Li Ming seemed to be begging to be taken down a notch. Usually Cethin would tolerate her antics, since she was his kin, after all. But that was one of his sister's few saving graces, in his opinion.
Leaning over, he poked his brother with his snout to wake him. "Wake up, the "princess" wants to go on an adventure," he said loudly, knowing full well that the female pup would likely take offense. He hoped that mother hadn't heard him though; he was often scolded for being unkind to his siblings. He would probably have to make up for that last insult later, if he didn't want Li Ming tattling on him. He was fond of his sister, and teasing was one of the ways he showed it. She didn't seem to share his sense of humor, though.
Standing and stretching, the lithe pup shook himself all over, letting his jewel bright fur fluff and settle in the morning air. After a final nudge to his brother, Cethin padded over to sit near his sister.

The first of the pokes given to him by his older brother was really all Radek needed to be drawn out from the land of slumber and into the living world yet for a brief moment he tried to trick himself into believing that he could return to his dreams for even a moment longer. A primarily teal colored ear twitched as it took in the sound of Cethin's voice and for a moment he was left wondering just who this princess was though ultimately he came to the conclusion that it was yet another teasing nickname given to their sister.
Slowly Radek lifted himself, blinking a few times to remove the blurriness that seemed to take over the still half-asleep pups eyes until his vision was cleared. Stretching the muscles that had grown to become stiff in his slumber the youngest pup glanced over to his siblings with a somewhat disbelieving look on his face. Surely they weren't thinking to just up and leave without informing their parents!
"But what about mom and dad?! I-I really don't think we should go anywhere without an adult! W-what if we meet up with a bear! Or worse! A violent, lone wolf! N-nope! No adventure for me without a grownup!"
As if to prove his point, the smaller of the two males sat himself onto the ground with a soft thump. He was determined not to allow himself to be dragged along by his siblings. Not this time! Nope. He was content waiting right here in the den with mother and father.

And there went Cethin with his usual teasing of course! Well nothing was going to spoil the day for her, no sir! "You wanna call me Princess? I'm down with that. In fact, since I'm now the princess, you have to do as I say, and I say quit giving snappy one-liners and get your butts moving!" she ordered them with a slight "hmph". But of course, Radek had to be a party-pooper and whine about "guardians" and "parents" and . . . what the, "violent, lone wolves"? She scoffed in reply.
"Honestly, Radek, nothing's gonna happen! Especially if we're sitting here looking at you like you're actually worth looking at in the morning," she told him, issuing her own little tease with a roll of her eyes. There was the sound of shifted rocks and gravel, and she sighed, wondering who it was now that was going to come and delay them further. "Huff . . . huff . . . There you are!" the squirrel panted upon reaching them, bending at her knees to catch her breath. She was a sleek specimen, her fur thick and her eyes bright with intelligence. "All those dens look the same to me . . . Well. My name is Yue, and your parents instructed me to be your guardian." "You hear that, Radek? Just in case we get attacked by some bear, you can rely on this lil' squirrel to bail you out! No worries at all!" The image alone was enough to make her laugh.

"Oh, right. See, Radek, it'll be fine. Mom and Dad sent this...very...er...purple squirrel to guard us," Cethin said, trying and failing to come up with a suitable description that made their new "guardian" sound less like a small, furry rodent.
"I'm sure that we'll be fine with Yue at our sides," he continued bravely, grimacing in an attempt not to start laughing with his sister.
He paced over to the small, colorful beast, and eyed her doubtfully. His parents had always been a little... distant. Not cold or unkind, just distracted and prone to wandering. Even for them, though, this was a bit much. Still, if it got Radek to budge, he would take it. A day spent cooped up with a bored Li Ming sounded very unpleasant.
"Come on Radek, we know our way around. Besides, Mom and Dad are practically giving us their permission by sending this...guardian to us."
