These are the rules you will be expected to follow when you have a gold. By agreeing to be a gold candidate in the sign up forums, you agree to follow these rules.
THE TEN COMMANDMENTS OF BEING A GOLDRIDER
1. I accept that being a goldrider does not guarantee this character the position of Weyrwoman at any Weyr. I know this is a (slightly far off future) possibility, but I understand it is not a promise. I will not hint to staff about it, nor will I whine if it never happens.
2. I will never, ever use my gold's ability to command other dragons in a way that is influenced by my OOC viewpoints. I will not have my dragon treat dragons of players I dislike badly, and I will not favor those who are my friends OOC when it is inappropriate. I especially will not favor my own characters. I accept that, if the staff feels I am violating this rule at any given time, I will be approached (nicely) about it.
3. I accept that having a gold does not grant me special treatment OOC, and that I do not deserve anything the rest of the shop doesn't, no matter what color dragon they play.
4. My gold will not Rise IC until staff gives me the okay OOC. I accept that I hold no influence over the offspring. I will not expect to or ask to create themes, personalities, patterns, etc. (This would be considered special treatment.) ***
5. I accept that, IC, my gold is not the senior gold, and must listen to the gold who is like all other dragons; that other dragons must listen to this gold over mine. **
6. I will not make a perfect goldrider, nor will I start to play my goldrider perfect after they Impress. Both my dragon and my rider will have flaws as well as virtues. (Flaws are considered things like jealousy, being mean, being unintelligent and so on. Things that are not are being a clumsy, being too loyal to friends, being too nice and so on.)
7. If my dragon reaches senior Weyrwoman, I accept I can be demoted by staff at any time if proven unable to handle myself accordingly OOC. (Meaning you stop following these rules.)
8. I accept that this dragon can be removed from play if I vanish from the shop for an substaintial amount of time without warning to make room for another, active gold. (Note: Golds are the only RP required dragons.)
9. I will make the effort to RP with everyone, as being social with everyone is part of a goldrider's job. I will not just RP with my friends with this dragon, nor will I start RPs with anyone but only finish those with my friends.
10. I will PM the staff if I want to do a plot for my dragon and/or rider that involves abuse of power. (This is allowed, you just have to tell us.) I will also PM them if I am unsure about something concerning my goldrider in RP.
