So their conversation had gone something like 'I want to go to the aquarium.'
And so they had tried to get in, but the doors were closed for the day. It being almost 10 at night. So like responsible teenagers with supernatural powers, they'd decided to break in. The guards were stuck in their little booth, and as senshi, they could run rampant for a while before being chased off by a security guard. Worse came to worse and they'd knock him out and run for it.

Cancer watched the play of blue light on the walls as she trod down the deserted water-tunnel. The carpet muffled their footsteps and sounds echoed eeriely in the gloom. It was, actually, kind of creepy. And she didn't feel as relieved by the fish swimming lazily overhead and to either side as she might normally feel.

Pisces had wanted to come here. At this late hour, surely neither girl had realized just how deserted a deserted aquarium could be.

The Destiny City aquarium was big, and there were tonnes of weird and wonderful fish. But it was damn spooky at night.

Not that Abeline Froust was scared. No. She was not. Most certainly not scared.

Something moved and tinkered in the blackness of the corridor and Cancer almost jumped six feet straight up. "What was that!?" She hissed.

Definitely calm and cool.

The guards would not be trapped in their little booth for long.

Tanzanite had been told to lay low after the life-altering experience of her promotion. One couldn't exactly go running around the city when the right side of your body looked like Venom had taken up residence in your appendage. Of course, that didn't stop her from going out altogether. In abandoned shops and closing attractions, there were always people to be found. Janitors, security guards, even employees staying late in at attempt to finish their mundane, worthless work; it was these individuals that Tanzanite had begun to seek out as prey, hidden away from the prying eyes of busy streets and crowded parks.

Her wild eyes were focused on the soft, shimmering starseed in her human palm, ignoring the youma arm as it sank its claws pointlessly into the mans stomach. It wound itself in, pulling at entrails the way a cat might pull at a string of yarn. Tanzanite clicked her tongue condescendingly, and the long, sharp fingers paused for only a moment. The spikes at the shoulder stood on end and a feeling of annoyance passed through her body.

Such a mess,” she sighed in a soft whisper that would have covered the distant footsteps were it not for the sudden, jerking movement over her arm. It lifted, pointing in the direction of the noise like a hound after a fox, index finger extended and dripping blood. Tanzanite wrapped her human hand around the starseed, sending it away into Negaverse subspace. She rose from her kneeling position, having dragged the guards body to a dark corridor between two of the aquatic displays, and watched the entrance silently.

It was them.

She could have recognized a fuku from a mile away. Tanzanite rested a hand on the dark purple forearm, soothing it with a quiet whisper. The dark arm balled its fingers into a tight fist. She could feel the bloodlust radiating from it, urging her into a fight. It whispered its dark desires into the back of her mind, extended its black grip further into her chest. Tanzanite pushed it away, heeding Beryl's words.

You will learn to control it.

With a wide grin, she removed the restraining hand, and the Arm tapped its fingers along the aluminum wall like a climbing spider. A series of loud, hollow click boomed through the area, followed by one ear shattering screeeeeech as it dragged the claws back down, pulling away thin slivers of metal in its wake.

'I want to go to the aquarium.'
Well, that was an understatement.

What really happened was more like this:

"Can we please go to the aquarium? Can we pleeeease go to the aquarium? Can we? Please please please? I really appreciate fish now, and you could go look at the crabs! It'd be like a date, come ON, I know you wouldn't mind a date-- you gave me CRAB MEAT for Valentine's Day! Please please please?"

"It's ten o' clock at night..."

"So? Not as many people will be there! It will be nice and quiet, and we can see the fishies resting!"

So, that was how Abeline found herself dragged to the aquarium. It was odd how different the two were, even down to their taste buds. Pierrette liked extremes: sweet, sour, and even sometimes spicy-- but especially sweet. Abeline preferred wholesome and even tastes that didn't send her mouth on a tailspin dive.

That was probably why Sailor Cancer wasn't eating one of the super-sweet popsicles that Pisces had snagged from a cart. (What? She left the money on the counter for them!) It was raspberry lemonade flavored, and left Pisces' lips even pinker than usual.

"You're overreacting, Cancer," said Pisces as she wagged the melting popsicle at her. "I doubt that there are ghost fish in here."

The two of them walked for a couple more steps before that god-awful screech greeted them.

"Eeeeeyaaaaaahhh!!!" Pisces covered her ears, shivering. A couple drops of her popsicle dripped onto the carpet, the 'ploop ploop' following the silence that the screech left in its wake.

"M-Maybe it's just the Ghost of Fishiness Yet to Come...?"
PostPosted: Mon Feb 15, 2010 10:15 pm

A ghost fish...? Oh god, seriously!?! Then Cancer straightened. There were no such things as ghosts. Although...

She sniffed. There was something metalic on the air. A sweet, sickly smell. And it wasn't the popsicle. She had no idea what that smell was. But she was about to find out that ignorance was bliss. There was nothing like a minion of darkness to drive a point home.

"Ghosts don't make sounds." She hoped. Still thinking that there was no way there were evil ghosts fish knocking stuff over. After all, why would a ghost knock things over? Abe hadn't seen enough horror movies.

She moved down the corridor, coming to pause in the entry-way to a pair of oposing exhibitions. Two funny colored octopi floated serenely in one tank, the other was taken up by a fish that looked like it was mostly all fins. Nothing odd there, the tanks were the brightest thing in the room. And that was a weird stain on the ground.

Cancer knelt, her brows furrowing as she touched the strange spill on the ground. It was too dark to tell what color it was, red... brown...?

"Oil...?" She glanced up, following the scuff-marks of the ground. Someone had dragged something really messy through here. And then she realized exactly what was going on here.

"Oh. My. God. We've walked in on someone trying to steal the dolphin!!" She hissed urgently to Pisces. She had seen a movie about this. Free Willy or something. This was a serious crime! If they didn't look after the dolphin, it would die!

Nevermind that the Aquarium didn't have a dolphin.

The laughter started low, a faint chuckle that bounced off of the metal and glass and rolled back to its source in the form of an echo. It seemed almost two voices, one distinctly female and one low, almost ghostly, floating after Tanzanite's sharp laugh like an airy chorus. It swelled like a wave into a full, throaty laugh, and faded only when the click, click, click of stiletto heels filled the would-have-been silence.

The blue light of the nearby aquariums illuminated Tanzanite's pale, pretty face as she stepped out of shadows. There were often times as a Lieutenant that she had been mistaken for something other than an agent of the Negaverse. Typically, this mistake painted her as a prostitute or escort. As a Captain, there was no way to mistake her as anything else. There was a wildness to her gaze, wide eyes where the edges of her irises did not meet her lids. Even if she had had the most innocent face in the world, even if that face had not been spattered with blood... there was no mistaking the thick, armored appendage that seemed to tense and relax rhythmically at her side.

From the tip of her sharp heels to the roots of that wild hair, she practically screamed Negaverse.

“What. Have. We. Here.” She murmured quietly, pausing after each word.

In horror movies, when something like this happened, it was typical for one of the leading ladies to scream. After all, there was something horrible attached to an equally horrible woman who was covered in blood.

Did the directors ever think about if this was reality? If this was reality, would the victims be able to scream? Or, would they be petrified into silence?

Pisces backed up against the wall-length fish tank, the fish's colorful fins serving as her backdrop and curtains. Her eyes were also wide, but not from madness. Her eyes were wide with that ancient, primeval emotion: fear.

"I-- I'm Sailor Pisces, the Senshi of Imagination. This is Sailor Cancer, the Senshi of Protection."

Through all of her fear, she was lucky that her quavering voice didn't crack or stutter. Indeed, the virtue of politeness was the only resolve that didn't seem to quiver under Tanzanite's stare.

Cancer looked down at the oil on the floor, at the splatter on this woman's face; her gross ligament attachment and.... she realized. "You... you ate the dolphin?" Disgust echoed in her voice as she stood slowly, putting herself between Pisces and this scary woman. Her ballerina shoes soaking in the blood underfoot. Perhaps when she realized it was blood, not oil, she would freak out. Perhaps not. Another person might have slipped in the blood-slick, but Cancer's balance held.

Even if she hadn't met one yet, a part of her knew exactly what she was looking at. Negaverse. A strong, evil aura seemed to fill the air around their sworn enemy.

A tremble ran up Cancer's spine. It might have been fear, but the sudden fire in her eyes was not evoking fear. The sound of a cold, mocking voice telling her that she was going to die. Icy water surrounding her... That unbearable pressure in her lungs. And then worse; worse still, not staying dead. Gloved fingers tightened into fists. The negaverse. As far as Cancer was concerned, she had an outstanding debt to this woman.

"You carnivorious, giant oversized tape-worm. You stole and ate a dolphin!" Apparently she wasn't letting this one go. After all, dolphins were cute and pretty and splashed water, and Abeline had hoped that she and Pierrette could swim with it in its magical underwater kingdom....

And then her dreams had been crushed as she realized that not only had the poor dolphin died a terrible, agonizing death as this zombie-making- (although that was pure slander, really)- killer had... it was too much for Cancer. After all, what kind of girl didn't like dolphins?!?

She launched herself at Tanzanite. Fist swinging wildly.

If Tanzanite hadn't been surprised, she would have been laughing. As it were, she was staring at the two of them as though one had three heads and the other had only half a brain. While Cancer's 'special' assumptions were surprising on their own, it was the names which the first girl presented that made the spikes at Tanzanite's shoulder lay flat against her neck.

Pisces.

Cancer.

Not only were they senshi, but they were Zodiacs. Tanzanite knew relatively little of the special court that Charonite had failed to kill, but she knew enough to understand that the situation would have to be handled with care. They were stronger than the average senshi.

Unfortunately, she didn't have time to contemplate the specific of how to handle the situation, because the one that had been specified as Cancer was hurling herself at her, swinging like a blindfolded kid at a pinata. It was fortunate for the pair that, combined, they contained far more magical ability than Tanzanite. It was unfortunate for them that the Captain practically lived for hand-to-hand combat. Her muscles tensed as Cancer took that first step, and Tanzanite crouched low to duck beneath the blows. One caught her on the soft human shoulder as Tanzanite swept a foot out, aiming to take the senshi's feet from under her and send her tripping.

With any luck, Cancer would faceplant right into the soft, warm corpse of the slain guard.

"Cancer!" Pisces squealed worriedly when Tanzanite swung her leg out to send the crab Zodiac falling. Cancer must've been confident to have rushed out and attacked like that, all for a dolphin that...

.... Wait...

Did the aquarium even have a dolphin?!

Pisces ran around to the side of the two girls to get a better look at the combat. She decided to butt right into the situation... literally. Pisces turned around and, taking a move from Super Smash Brothers, propelled herself backwards with a jump, hoping to hit the already-distracted Tanzanite with... a butt-butt. Or something.

Cancer would have caught herself quite well if it weren't for the fact that her hand landed inside the multilated chest cavity of the guard. It was hard to be stylish and hot when your elbow disappeared into blood and guts and you let out the single most girlish scream ever heard. It started as an 'eeek' and ended as an 'omaigawd' balancing on her arm was lost as the soft guts squished under her gloves and Cancer's body buckled. She landed in a messed up heap on the ground, her ankle pulling at an odd angle. Her face registered that there was pain, but otherwise she was alright. She winced and stood up. Because a sprained ankle was not enough to make Cancer so much as limp. If all it took was that, then she would be a really bad dancer.

She looked down at the guard. His gold name plate read Dave. And she had bits of his heart and lungs on her hand. Abeline's blue, blue eyes went wide.

"Oh my god--- are you a bottomless pit or something? As if a dolphin wasn't enough! No wonder your thighs are so fat." Yes she had just called a Negaverse captain thunder-thighs. Yes, she'd gone there. Ohh yes. Snap. Her tone was one that anyone who'd ever met a popular girl was familiar with, bitchy, cruel and a little bit childish.

She moved back a bit, getting a little more maneuver room. It was dark, and the place was hard to see inside of; the glowing fish lights were not made to fight Negaverse minions under. Unfortunately Cancer stood and moved back a little too fast, a little too hard. She didn't know her own senshi strength. She smacked into something behind her, hard enough that a crack hissed its way up the length. Cancer froze, presenting a perfect target; illuminated by hazy blue light, plastered against the octopus tank.

This would not end well.

Tanzanite was watching Cancer land, quite please with herself, when the bony a** of a skinny teenage slammed into her hip. It caught her off guard, sending the Captain stumbling back against the wall. She caught herself just as the corner of the aquarium caught her, jabbing a sharp corner into the back of her leg. Her features crumpled with both pain and annoyance as she straightened herself. Only a glance was given; first to Pisces, second to the zodiac who was still picking herself up from the battered corpse of Dave Sheffield.

Cancer's tone was one utterly familiar to Tanzanite. Years in the human skin of Aree Cadence, a scholarship dancer at Crystal Academy, had given her a thicker skin. Not to mention, at an even six feet and skinny enough that she often got quips about needing to eat more, self-esteem was not something Tanzanite lacked. The insult rolled off of her like water on wax paper.

Head tilted right, then left, vertebrae popping before she fixed her stare on the newly formed silhouette of Sailor Cancer. That monstrous arm shuddered, wrapping long claws around the shoe of the fallen guard and yanking it off. With more strength than Tanzanite on her own could have possessed, it hurled the shoe right at Cancer's head.

Even if she ducked, it wouldn't hurt to have something to drown the bitches in.
PostPosted: Sun Mar 07, 2010 11:29 am

In the swiftness of the motion, Pisces wasn't sure if the shoe hit Cancer. All that she could see was half of the dead man's shoe jutting out from the glass behind the other senshi.

Pisces could help but hold a hand to her mouth to quiet a gasp. A beautiful spiderweb of intricate patterns started to radiate from the shoe, and fairy dust-thin glass started to shimmer down from the place of impact. The octopus inside was starting to swim a little faster, and the Zodiac represented by fish felt an all-too-familiar feeling in the pit of her stomach. This was going to be bad, and not just for the senshi.

"You're horrible..." she managed to whisper.

Next to Tanzanite, a figure entirely made out of glass-like armor started to piece itself together. If Pisces was lucky, then the lieutenants that she had faced before didn't tell anyone about her illusions. So the spectral, glass warrior looked real, and the axe in his hand looked equally real.

"How dare you disturb the innocents that lie beyond this glass! I, Glassenware, the soldier of glass, will not forgive it!" He hoisted his axe above his head, ready to face Tanzanite in an illusory battle.

Pisces' eyes were fixed on the warrior, her creation.

Cancer was fast, she twisted her head at the last minute, managing to score a clip from the dirty underside that bruised her cheek, but didn't leave too much lasting damage. The real shock was the slight dampness behind her as the tank wall broke and the octopus went gushing out between her legs. The water was somewhat tepid, but cold enough, and the look on Cancer's face was priceless as she was instantly soaked. tiny cuts of glass across her back and legs as the broken tank reigned down on her went entirely unnoticed.

Her mouth formed a little 'o' like 'holy s**t' kind of face, before she was totally drenched. And Cancer was not wearing a whole lot of fuku. Luckily it was dark, so the other two women couldn't see what a white leotard and a gauzy pink dress /didn't/ hide when wet. Abe just stood there, still reeling from shock for a moment before she felt something touch her thigh. The guard's shoe.

Not able to form any more words, she picked up the soaked leather and threw it with all her might at Tanzanite. Maybe it would knock her into the tank behind her. Maybe it would start a chain reaction, or maybe Cancer had nothing else to throw. Although the desperately flailing cephalopod might have been her next choice.

All they needed was some dodgy music and one of these girls could have been getting ready for some wacky anime ecchi. And Cancer would probably smack the first person who asked her to scream like a school-girl for the camera. But despite her state of showing wayyy more skin than she wanted to, she was a fighter.
PostPosted: Thu May 06, 2010 6:16 am

“Horrible,” Tanzanite's mouth moved around the word as though it were ill of taste, “What a stupid girl.”

The glass was taking shape as the shoe came flying towards her, and that monstrous arm moved of its own will. It thought much quicker than it's human host and snatched the shoe from the air like Barrack Obama with a fly during an interview Somewhere in her palm something opened and sucked the leather in. There was a sucking sound, the gnashing of teeth, and then nothing. Tanzanite herself shuddered as though repulsed, and her face paled for a brief moment before her focus was drawn to the speaking glass soldier.

A glass soldier.

A glass soldier with an axe.

Tanzanite took a step back, grey eyes narrowed and focused on the thing. Her mutilated arm was raised before her protectively, gnarled fingers clenched into a massive fist. Tanzanite had been warned about the Zodiacs, that they were stronger than a senshi, stronger than super senshi, but she needn't Charonite's warnings to tell her that as she stared up at Pisces' creation. It looked real, it felt real, and the small knot of anxiety it brought to Tanzanite's stomach was most certainly real. Thus, for all intents and purposes, it wasvery real for the Negaverse Captain.

Still, the fear of fighting what stood before her paled in comparison to facing Charonite with the report of failure. Facing Beryl with the report of failure. Tanzanite had no room for ******** ups, no room for hesitation, and so she threw herself at the glass soldier as though she intended for her weight alone to shatter the thing.
