Brief Description Meteorites have pummeled Earth and killed thousands, leaving thousands more mutated. Some people have survived, positive that they are alone. What would happen if they ran into each other? Would friendships or relationships form? Would people that dislike each other be forced to work together? Would colonies arise and try to start the population anew? These questions are left to you to answer. Some people have been effected by the meteorites in an odd way, leaving some with unnatural abilities. Quite a large amount of people were effected in a bad way, between mutated and not mutated. So, their brains are...*cough* screwy. (Little white room and straight jacket sort of 'screwy'.) [It is assumed that this story's location is in Japan. Please do not think you have to have knowledge of the Japanese culture. If you do not, just ride along.] ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Rules Number 1: ALL CHARACTER INFO IS TO BE PMED TO ME. DO NOT JUST ADD IT. (I have found that putting all character info on the first page is more organized and easier for everyone. Especially when you are trying to go find someone's info.)
Number 2: No Godmoding. It is not fun for anyone.
Number 3: No cybering. Kissing is allowed, but if you want to let viewers know that 'that' happened, then just imply it and jump to the scene after.
Number 4: No killing off other characters without asking the other person's permission.
Number 5: Pets ARE allowed, and don't forget to have fun!!!
Number 6: This is a literate Roleplay, do not type posts like this example. *whitewolfffy got tackled to the ground by a zombie* "AHHHHH!". Hince the way it sounds bad. If you still don't understand, observe other people's posts.~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Sam walked down a deserted street, carrying a large backpack. Across her butt was a full grenade belt, and an M-220 was slung over her shoulder. A large knife hung off her belt and she walked with confidence and ease, not as the few she had seen, who scurried fearfully through the shadows. Her heavy load did not hinder her. Suddenly a small head poked out of the top of the backpack. "Have you seen any kids my age yet, Sam?" the young girl asked, her speech more developed than one would expect for her age. The older girl smiled sadly. "Not yet Jessie, but I'll let you know." Samantha hadn't had the heart to tell Jessica that most kids her age ould be dead. Jessie nodded and dove back into the bag. It was easiest to carry her this way. If she had to run them to safety, she could just take off, then come back and blast the hell out of any nearby zombies.

Alex sat in the apartment room, her eyes serious and contemplating. She stared at the far wall, her dark gray eyes narrowed. Miya was sprawled over her, her small arms wrapped around her big sister's chest and making noises in her sleep. Alex stroked the 5 year-old's soft brown hair. She smiled at the stuffed bunny securely wedged under the little girl's arm. I need to get rid of that rabbit. She is way too attached to that thing. Her thought was only half-hearted. She could never bring herself to take the little stuffed animal from Miya. Their mother had given it to Miya when she was tiny. To take it away would be cruel to the small girl. Alex sighed and turned her gaze to the curtains that covered the only window. Night would be coming soon. She would have to bolt the door.

Rock slipped quietly back into the building, dragging with him a bag full of dry wood and another back completely laden with meat, meat, and more meat. He had been preparing for a few nights now, taking all the meats from the store that he could, and bringing them here. He couldn't go back tomorrow, the rest of the meat and produce had gone bad by now. He could still get some non-perishables, but this last batch of meat here would have to last him as long as possible. He'd ruined two full hams trying to figure out how to smoke meat, and he'd had to give it up. Now he was kippering it all, dehydrating it so that it couldn't go bad. The problem was, he needed to keep his fire going, and the zombies had already noticed the smoke. Luckily there were enough fires that at night, when the smoke blended in with the sky, his didn't stand out. After that first day when he'd had to fight off all those zombies, he'd decided to do this by night. After tonight he'd have all his supplies, and he could start heading out. He had no idea where he would go, but there must be SOMEONE else out there, and if he found them... well, one step at a time, right? Gonna need food.

Sam saw the sun beginning to set. "Come on squirt. Let's find a place to sleep." Jessie's head popped out of the bag. She held a pair of binoculars and began looking around. "There's a man out ny the back of a building. He's got a buncha meat." she said, pointing. Sam nodded. "Well, let's see if he knows of a safe place."

He headed up the stairs, making slow progress with his heavy load. He made it to the third floor when he heard the door open and close.
s**t, I thought for sure I gave them the slip back there.
He set the meat and wood on the landing and reached over to a section of railing that had broken off. It was no crowbar, but it'd do for smashing in a few zombie heads. He took a few steps up towards the fourth floor. The zombie would go after the meat, and he'd have it's head cracked open before it even got one putrid hand-
Wait... What was that? Doesn't sound like a zombie...

A figure on top of a building that was once part of a university could be seen huddling over something or another. The occasional movement in the shoulders was well indicative of a man deep in concentration, his hands nimbly working on the device in his lap. After a few moments the figure sat back and adjusted his glasses as he contemplated the device. Radios were such a pain to reprogram, especially when they were analogue. The figure, who was once a classmate known as Ajna, knew he was close to cracking it, but the dimming light wasn't going to help him much longer. He drummed his fingers against his knees for a few moments until something finally clicked in the back of his mind: he could just hybridize this one with a digital one of a similar make. The young man clapped his hands together in triumph before he grabbed the radio and stood up. He took a cursory glance over the area, searching for any signs of movement that weren't those of the mutants his former roommate had called zombies. Ajna felt kind of bad for the poor fellow, he hadn't had a chance to think about surviving before the meteors hit. He didn't see anything on the landscape save for a fire coming from a distant apartment complex. Well, those were rather common. The young man sighed softly before he wandered through the door that lead to the stairwell, securing it behind him before descending the stairs. The night wasn't safe any more.

Sam jogged up the stairs. "Anyone home?" she called quietly. No reason to call attention to themselves if it was just some food hoarding zombie. She got to the fourth floor and saw a guy holding a piece of broken railing. She raised an eyebrow. "You've survived this long chucking broken pieces of house at zombies?"

Rock had nearly smashed her over the head before he noticed she wasn't a zombie. As it was, he dropped the railing piece to the floor and stepped down past her to obtain his food and tinder. He started heading back up the stairs to the roof again.
"It's getting dark out. Come with me, you can stay here tonight."

Cindy walked into the seemingly deserted town. She had 2 swords tied around her wait and a gun around her thigh. She had a pack around her shoulder, holding her ammo and some other belonging. She stopped in the middle of an intersection with her hood up. She looked around carefully, but didn't see any movement. She pulled off her hood, letting her long black hair fall down her back. She reached into her pack and pulled out a back of M&M's that she 'stole' from a store in the last town she was in. As it started getting darker, Sin pulled out a flashlight and started searching. She needed a safe place to rest. She wrapped up her snack and started jogging through the town. "Hello?!" She yelled, hoping some day, someone would answer, though she didn't get he hopes up. "Is there anyone not dead?!"

Ajna had ended up on the ground floor of the building he was inhabiting, the one that had once held most of the engineering and technology classes, when he heard something. He looked down at the radio he was working on and knew it wasn't coming from there. The young man crept to a window and peeked out of it, hoping that it was another survivor but knowing better than to keep that hope alive for too long. He scanned the street with his dark eyes and flinched a little when he saw a point of light waving over the street. That had to be a flashlight or else he was going mad. Ajna made a small sound of joy that, had his roommate still been alive, would have been considered emasculating when it seemed that it was another survivor. As far as he'd seen, zombies didn't need to use flashlights. The young man set the radio down and darted to the nearest door that opened onto that street and opened it, waiting until the person was in view. "Hello there!" He called, betraying his Indian heritage with his Hindu accent. Ajna didn't do anything else to approach the person, knowing full well that some zombies liked to go after gatherings of people. Hopefully the person, a she from what he could tell, would get the hint and get off the street.

Cindy jumped and drew her gun. She pointed the flashlight at the young man, as well as her gun. She stood still for a moment, getting a good look at the young man. She moved the flashlight beam around her, not moving the gun, and back to the young man. "OK. I have to say, you're the first in a long time. Mind if I join you? As long at you're not going to eat me." Sin spoke seriously, half joking, but not moving the light beam or the gun. She took slow steps towards the young man, awaiting his answer.

"Cool. Many zombies round here? I just strolled into town. Well, we did." she said, setting her pack on the ground. Jessie jumped out, and Sam slung it back onto her back. Jessie ran up to the guy. "Do you have any kids?" she said frankly. Sam tousled her haor. "C'mon squirt, we just met him. You can scare him to death later." she said, pulling out one of the many beef jerky she stole, as it lasted a while and was easy to access. She handed one to the young girl and munched one herself. "Want one?"

Ajna jumped when the young woman did and his hands went up as a natural reaction to being at gunpoint. That had, unfortunately, been one of his new experiences after the meteors hit. The young man felt his shoulders relax a little when the girl spoke to him, asking if she could have a place to stay before making a joke about cannibalism. He supposed that, with the zombies wandering amok, that it was a realistic kind of question to ask. "Of course." Ajna answered, slowly lowering his hands. "But please do come inside quickly, there are very nasty things that start roaming the streets at this time." Though their first encounter had been strained, Ajna still wasn't going to let another person get killed if he could do something about it.

Rock chuckled a little. "I have enough dried out meat to last quite a while, thanks." He pushed open the door to the roof, and held it open for them with one foot. Directly ahead was a large pile of wood. "Keep back from the edges, and stay away from the far side of the roof, it's unstable and you could bring the whole building down." He went over and added the wood he had gathered to the pile, and set the meat on a strange grill that was made up of a bunch of cannibalized oven racks. Then he pulled out a flint and steel from his pocket, and struck a spark. It flew into the pile and the wood burst into flames. "There, that should do. Who needs gas? If your wood's dry enough..." He sat back down next to a large traveling pack, and looked at the two. "Anyways, who are you guys?"
