Ahava stood in the ruins, that often provided her a place to relax and think during the heat of the day. Today her thought were on her brother. He was the warrior chief and it was him who Ahava looked to and from where her dreams of being head huntress stemmed. She been training to make herself a better huntress since she was very young, with mostly her brother for guidance.

She lay on the cool stone of the large ruin floor letting her thought run away from her, but her ears were still as alert as ever. Listening for the tiniest sound that would let her know she was not alone. For now however she was alone and her thought drifted from her brother to what the future held for her. Her brother had cubs now, several of them and a beautiful mate. She wondered who her mate would be and she hoped it was a certain someone, but for now that desired remained buried within her heart.

Ahava let out a small sigh, shifting slightly to make herself more comfortable.

"Ahava." Eyal's deep voice came from behind her. The large golden male was coming back from his patrol and happen to catch sight of his younger sister on the rock. "I happen to see you." He padded slowly and confidently beside her. She was one of the few he showed his softer side to. Other then his cubs and his mate his sister was the only one who saw past his hard exterior. He leaned his head down and gently touched his nose between her ears.

"My cubs are just about the right age to start their lessons. I was wondering if you perhaps, wanted to teach them to hunt." He said laying down to rest his body. He was covered in scars now from a battle with a cape buffalo and he was often stiff now because of them. "They are at that age and you are becoming a great huntress. Perhaps you are best to teach them."

Ahava turned at her brother's voice. It seemed as though she had thought him up. "Eyal," she said smiling as he greeted her, "I was just thinking of you dear brother."

She watched as he brother lay down and listen to him speak, pride welling up in her chest at her brother's approval. She loved her brother and was very excited about all her nieces and nephews. She nodded slightly blushing at her brother's compliments.

"Thank you brother. I would be honored to teach your cubs, my nieces and nephews how to hunt. I am sure they will be very good at it when they have finished their lessons."

She sighed and looked as though she was far a way for a moment before speaking again. "How are they brother, your mate and cubs? And how are you? We are both so busy I can hardly keep track."

Ahava wondered slightly if her determination was too much and if she should try to spend more time with her family. Even being fully grown now, she was just as determined as she had been as a cub admiring her big brother for being so strong and brave.

"Were you?" He asked showing a light smile on his maw. He began to give small licks to his paw, only looking up when she started to talk to him. "I would hope so. You are a great huntress and to be honest, one of my older daughters, Asenath... She doesn't seem to hold much interest in hunting for the pride. She could really use a strong mentor."

He knew their mother wasn't a huntress any means. He paused tilting an ear in her direction before snorting. "They are well. The young ones that were just born are still with their mother. I need to arrange their name ceremony with the King. The older children are finishing off their lessons but soon...they'll be on their own."

He let out a slight sigh. All his daughters ready to do as they willed. He could only hope they stayed with the pride. "I'm fine. I'm just so busy making sure the pride is safe. I've seen things near by and smelled strange things. I fear man is near our pride and I'm more then willing to fight them off." He let out a deep growl, baring his teeth. "I have yet to warn the King... I don't know if they're going to come near us."

"I think of you often brother," she said smiling, "because if you are in my thoughts than you are always close."

Her ears flicks listening to the sounds around them before moving forward again to focus on her brother's word, "Thank you brother. I wil do my best. As you well know by now I aim to be head huntress some day. I will do my best in teaching my nieces and try to stir Asenath in the right direction, but for her of course brother."

Ahava couldn't help but to smile and be happy, he family was growing thanks to her brother and hopefully one day she would contribute to its growth. She was happy his young ones would be okay and and sure his daughters would do well for themselves. She wondered silently what the names of her nieces and nephews would be.

Ahava listened to her brother and frowned are he talked about the man coming near the pride. "Man? Why would man come here? They left long ago. I thought they no longer had any use of this place."

Ahava sighed, "Brother are they really so dangerous? Will be okay? Do we really need to fight them?"

Randy2love
He smiled at her. She was so kind to him.

"Yes and I'm very proud that our line is doing so well. This pride means great deal to me and I wish to keep our blood in it. Speaking of which... is there a male in the pride that's caught your interest yet, Sister?"

He snorted slightly. "Asenath isn't paying attention to her hunting lessons. She's too busy with her head in the clouds and exploring out side the pride. Make sher she pays attention to you, Ahava."

The male shook his head and snorted. "I don't know. Maybe they left something here but I've heard things and smelled things outside our perimeter. I don't know any of that information. Only time will tell. Hopefully they will see our powerful warriors and decide we own this place. But if they don't... I will not be afraid to kill them."

Ahava blushed deeply at her brother's question. It was not one she had been expecting and while it was true one of the prides warriors had caught her eye, she would rather not admit it. Especially since she was to busy to ever even speak to him. She was highly embrassed by it, but he seemed nice enough.

"Brother, surely you jest. I am far to busy hunting for the pride and trying to become head huntress to worry with such things," she lied.

She quickly answered her brother trying to stir clear of the subject, even though technically she brought it up. "Asenath will pay attention to me brother. Soon she will join the hunt and she will do just fine. Do not worry so brother."

She sighed knowing her brother had a lot on his shoulders. With new cubs, her older daughters and his duties to the pride. She knew his words were true and he would surely kill the humans who dared intrude on the home.

"Hopefully you are right brother, but if not. What it there are to many and if they will not leave. What will we do then Eyal. We have few warriors and our prides cubs are still young. Will this make us vunerable?"

Ahava was worried for the saftey of so many young ones. There were many adults but most were not trained to fight, thought she was certain everyone would to ensure the saftey of the pride.

Randy2love
"You should worry about such things. A strong male and cubs will be good for you and the pride." He snorted a bit holding his head high. After all it had done him a wold of good. His cold heart had cracked and the warmth underneath was starting to show.

"I hope you're right. She's too restless for her own good." He let out a long sigh, his red tail flickering. "Of course it will... We have so many to look after. We need more able fighters if this pride is to stay where it is. But man is man, and hopefully they will move on else where. I doubt they'll do anything."

He hoped not. He had newborns to worry about and his mate. She would be in no condition to fight for them and he couldn't protect everyone at once. Hopefully they would steer clear. "Let's not worry about it for now. Would you like to go on a hunt with me, sister?"

Kaori_luv
"I will worry about such things when the time come brother, but I will be very busy very soon with your cubs. It can wait brother. I am still young." Ahava sighed, but smiled no the less. She loved her brother dearly.

She continued to smile at her brother as he spoke of Ase, "She will be fine brother. Trust me." Her smiled stayed as he spoke of man. she wanted to be strong for her brother. He seemed more worried than he looked. "We can only hope brother that they pass us by."

Ahava rose when her brother suggested a hunt, "Yes let not worry on it. A hunt sounds like a wonderful replacement for burden. And it has been to long since we last hunted together."

Ahava moved forward rather mechanically, she knew her way to the hunting ground like her own paws. She could navigate the way with her eyes closed.

Randy2love
"Yes... I suppose so but don't wait too long." He answered in a thoughtful tone. He wanted nothing more then his sister to settle down and find happiness.

He stood and stretched himself out, shaking his bulk. He knew his daughter would do fine. It was just... he never had someone to care about other then his sister. A family was a welcome worry. "Yes, let's fine some game. I believe it will do both of our hearts well."

Slowly he descended down to go find something they could hunt together.

As she walked toward to the hunting grounds, she thought on what her brother had said. She knew he wanted the best for her and she figured as much as she wanted to achieve her main goal she did need to at least begin to consider mate options, though she wasn't to sure if anyone was even interested.

Ahava pulled out of her thought to see she already reached the hunting ground and smiled happily. She shook her thought away and prepared to hunt. It was her favorite activity and so beneficial to the pride.

She looked to her brother," so dear brother, what shall we hunt today?"

Randy2love
The male trailed behind her. When they were cubs he was the older protective one. He took careful care of his sibling and made sure she was happy. If a mate would make her happy... well he wasn't above arranging dates. He knew all of the males in the pride and who might be good for her.

He stretched himself out and came to stand beside her. "Mmm, something challenging. A fast impala perhaps..." He said in a small mutter surveying the area. "Do you know of anything close."

Kaori_luv
Ahava smiled when her brother suggested impala. "So its a test of speed is it. I bet you I'm faster big brother."

Ahava ran ahead and thought on her scouting from the day before. She remember zebra toward the sunset, mostly birds off toward the ruins, but she was certain she'd seen a few impala in the direction of the sun rise.

"If I remember correctly, there are a few impala over toward where the sun comes up. Shall we head over and see if we can find them?"

Ahava looked at her brother curiously. She was really happy to have some time with him.

Randy2love
He smirked slightly. "Are you calling me old? I may be up there in years but I can still race you." He offered her flicking his tail.

He glanced that way, the wind toying with his mane. "Yes... I think that would be best." He starts to head in the direction over th rise. Its been a long time since he hunted but he's happy enough to give it a shot. Take his mind off things.
