Tope knew that his brother would need him so he was taking a short vacation from Jini and the cubs (who weren't cubs anymore sadly) and to go see Ardhi. He had traveled for two days or more, he wasn't sure. He didn't want to go back to the pridelands really, but he guess it would be good for him to see his homelands again.
He finally began to be near the place that he knew so well, he could vaguely smell the scents of his past life, wandering and playing with his siblings. He sighed, lifting his head and smelling deep, for his brothers scent.

For Tope, Ardhi was not going to be hard to find. Ardhi had not moved from the same place he laid down in near his parents old home after his mother had passed. He had struggled to keep moving for her after his father Umo had passed and now that she was gone he had no reason to move. He had no other friends. He still had siblings moving about the pridelands but he was not nearly as close to them as he had been his parents. When he lost them he had pretty much lost his heart. He had loved them so, they had always been there for him. They'd protected him his whole life and now they were gone and he was alone. He'd told himself before their passing that he would be alright and he would be able to go on but he had expected by then that he would have moved on and found a lovely female who loved him the way his mother had loved his father.
He didn't realize how hard it would be, how deep depression could go. He was struggling in the deepest depths of the ocean of depression now and he was running out of air and had no will to swim for the suface.

Tope recognized the area he was in now and stopped, remembering good memories and happiness and some sadness. He sighed, walking farther to the place they called their den, and spotted who he was looking for. Ardhi had grown so much, course Tope didn't realize how big he was himself. He smiled, recognizing the dark male, recognizing his scent. He also recognized the faint scent of his mother and father...
He padded closer, not wanting to surprise his brother. "Ardhi..." He said softly his deep voice so reminiscent of their father. He felt awkward and sad about this meeting, especially since he had left his brother alone... for a life of happiness... Perhaps Ardhi would follow.

Ardhi's ears twitched immediately to the voice that sounded so much like Umo. Only his eyes moved to look at the lion the voice had come from. It wasn't Umo, he had been stupid to hope for such but it was the brother he felt closest to next to his parents. Tope must've heard of their parents death for he wouldn't just happen across here normally. It had been a very long time since Ardhi had seen Tope and even now he was suprised to see him. Tope was so happy where he was Ardhi wasn't expecting to see his brother again unless he went to him.
However here Tope was but unlike before Ardhi just wasn't excited at all. He was numb from the tips of his mane to the pads of all four of his paws. Having been in the same position for so long and not moved even to eat Ardhi was withered. Even through all of the thick and fluffy fur he had his sucken stomach wasn't hard to miss.

Tope didn't like what he was seeing. He felt so horrible now... now that their parents were gone and Tope should have cared before then but with Jini and the firekin and the cubs growing up... he felt ashamed. "Ardhi.. brother?" He asked, stepping closer to his dark form, his pink eyes gazing down at him. "Brother... how long has it been since you ate?" He asked, the concern thick in his voice.
He looked around to see if there were any remains from any kills. "Ardhi... its been too long and already I see I should have been sooner!"

Ardhi made only the slightest movement to shrug his shoulders to his brothers question. He couldn't remember the last time he had eaten. A few days before his mothers death maybe. He'd been trying his best to care for his mother during her last days but he hadn't been able to keep her alive. He felt as though he'd failed her big time.
It seemed like his failure was going to continue. Tope was concerned for him now he could hear it in his voice. In the state he was in now he was heading for death right along with his parents but he really just didn't care if he died. At least he wouldn't burden anyone once he was gone.

Tope felt a bit of anger rising out of the pit of his stomach at his brothers reply, or lack of it. He snorted, his pink eyes narrowing. "Well I suppose I will have to make you eat then Ardhi..." He said simply, standing up and walking off for a short time. He wasn't going to get anything large for the meal, he needed Jini for that.
He returned not long after with a rabbit hanging from his jaws. He walked over to his dark brother and tossed the creature at his feet, that look still on his face. "Eat..." He said, hoping Ardhi would say something or he was really going to lose his temper

Ardhi watched his brother as he walked off to get food. Once his brother was out of sight he closed his eyes and took in a slow breathe. He didn't really have the urge to eat anymore. He'd been so long now without eating the pain in his stomach wasn't bothering him. He knew his brother though. He was stubborn and wasn't going to let him go without eating now that he was here. Getting Tope to let him go probably wasn't going to happen but the fight that was to come wasn't going to be pretty.
When Tope returned Ardhi heard the rabbit hit the ground and slide to a stop at his feet. He opened his eyes again to peer at the rabbit but had no intention to eat it. At Tope's simple request he turned his gaze up to Tope's angry face and slowly parted his lips to say the first words to his brother since he'd got there. "I'm not hungry."

Tope wrinkled his nose. "Liar... Eat it Tope..." He said, his voice a bit demanding. He wasn't going to stand for this. Their parents were dead and Tope was saddened about this but he wasn't going mope and let himself die because he missed them. They wouldn't want it that way... He pushed the rabbit closer, his eyes narrowing.
"Eat it." He said stubbornly, glaring down at his brother. "Or I won't let you come see your Niece and Nephew... " He said, knowing he wouldn't take that opportunity away from any of them, he just needed something to pull Ardhi out of his depression.

Ardhi's ears flickered at his brothers demand. He wasn't used to his brother trying to force him to do anything. They'd worked together as cubs never forcing one to do anything. However the demand wasn't what caught his complete attention. Ever so slowly Ardhi raised his head his body shaking slightly as he used a lot of the energy he had left to do the simple movement.
"You and Jini had cubs?" He asked. His memory was becoming fuzzy and distorted in his depression. He didn't remember hearing anything about Tope having children.

Tope was glad to see his brother move and speak and his body language showed it. His eyes softened and his shoulders relaxed. He sighed, a small smile crawling on his lips as he pushed the rabbit closer. "Yes... A girl and a boy. I named the girl Kinamasi after the sister we never met... and Jini named the boy is named Ruia... he looks like Jini's deceased mother.. Kinamasi has our family marks... both are adults now... " He said with a smile.
"We are thinking of having some more cubs... now that we aren't traveling anymore..." And now that they had done their duties. Jini was content, well as content as she could be with the murder.

Ardhi listened to his brother describe his two cubs to him and his eyes lighted up a bit. He could tell Tope was proud of his children. He noted Tope push the rabbit closer and how his body eased a bit and he was relaxing with every movement that Ardhi was making. Hearing of his niece and nephew Ardhi really wanted to meet them. He couldn't believe that Tope and Jini had finally settled down and had a family and that their kids were already adults!
This news made Ardhi think and he glanced down to the rabbit now on top of his feet. "I'd really like to meet your cubs brother..." Ardhi said a bit low. He was still in his depression and getting out of it was going to take a lot of strength but meeting his niece and nephew of his brother Tope perhaps it would be worth it. He really wondered how much they were like his brother personality wise. "Promise you will take me with you to see them... Please don't leave me here alone brother..." Ardhi's voice was low and quivering as tears formed and dropped from his eyes to land on the fur of the dead rabbit. He didn't want to be in the pridelands anymore but without help out of his current condition he wasn't going anywhere but to the claws of death.

Tope sat close to his brother, really glad he was moving a bit more. He knew this was a tough time for Ardhi more than anyone. He chuckled a bit. Tope was indeed proud of his family and would always be proud of them... especially of Jini. She had traveled so far on her poor leg... and they had destroyed that lion from the firekin! They had won.
"Yes... I planned on taking you back with me... I told Jini when I left you would be coming back... I want you to come see my family Ardhi..." He said with a smile. "I promise... " He said, walking over and laying down beside his brother.

Tope's promise did the trick to help lighten Ardhi's spirits a bit. As Tope laid down next to him Ardhi nuzzled his brother lightly and then began to eat the rabbit that Tope had brought to him. He ate it slowly not wanting to upset his empty stomach by filling it quickly with food. After a little while there was absolutely nothing left of the rabbit as Ardhi ate the hair, skin, bones and everything else on the rabbit. Because his belly had been empty for quite sometime the rabbit filled his belly up for the time being.

Tope watched his brother eat silently, wondering what all he had missed those years of being away. He nodded approvingly as Ardhi finished his meal. "Good. We will rest for a bit before we leave, I don't want you to get tired.... so lets sleep for a bit and I will catch us something to eat in a few hours, that should bring your energy up a bit..."
He leaned against his brother and rumbled at the feel of it. It had been too long since he had seen his siblings. Many, he knew nothing of their were aboust. Some he had met and accordingly they had met him. "So rest, we have a journey ahead of us and we mustn't take too long, JIni still need some help with hunting and now that the cubs are grown, they are usually off doing their own things."
