 She was warm. Nyx liked being warm, like nearly any other feline...and so she snuggled into the source of the warmth. And the waking part of her mind registered that the warmth was furry. Opening a crimson eye, she was met with dark fur. And she knew exactly who it belonged to. She smiled and rumbled happily. He was still there!
She'd had an odd fear he would be gone when she woke, and it all would have been a dream. But it hadn't been. And her dark one was still there. Mmmm...life couldn't get any better, she was sure of it.

Katana'k had been awake for quite some time, watching her, looking at her, trying to look on this situation. However, he didn't want to look at himself too much, it would give his position away, any reflection and his brother might know where he is, and where to run to to be farthest from himself. Would he really find his brother, his father, ever? Katana'k doubted it now, and wondered if he should leave it all to the wind for another century, another life.
Perhaps, one day if reborn, he would forget this life and start over in peace.
Katana'k looked down at her, his light, as he called her, and wondered if he was doing the right thing, he would eventually break her heart, he had no doubt, or did he? It was confusing.
As she stirred he closed his eyes, smiling inwardly, pretending to be asleep, to see what she would do.
A test, of sorts.

Nyx checked to see if he was asleep or awake. And apparently, he was asleep. She admired him a bit, feeling a swell of pride in herself that she'd managed to attract his attention. He was handsome, kind to her, and made her heart flutter. And he trusted her. He'd put his trust in her, told her his secret.
The pale lioness shook her head slightly, done with her reflecting. If one thought too much, the thoughts lost their meaning. She gently nudged his shoulder, a smile on her face. "Wakey, wakey, sleepyhead."

Katana'k pretended to be deep in sleep, though he could feel her eyes on him, he curled his tail around himself and let his wings fall a bit to drape over her form. teasing her was fun, and he could be so cruel with teasing, oh yes.
When she poked at him he grumbled as if still taken by sleep and he rolled over onto his back, rubbing his back down against the ground to get more comfy, there was the spot.
He smiled to himself, still 'sleeping', this was nice.

She pouted, ears back...though she shivered slightly at the touch of his wings. She loved his wings.
But he was still sleeping! Oh this would not do. Hmmm...how to best bring him into wakefulness...She smiled and started humming. It had a tune, but she had no words for it yet. Nyx moved to nuzzle his mane, around the area of his neck.

Katana'k kept himself from smiling too much, and finally decided he had tortured her enough. Though the tune she hummed was calming to his mind, and he for a moment hesitated to wake up indeed, were there words for it?
"Good morning my light," he said softly while opening his eyes, looking at her being so close to him. He pushed himself to sit on his haunches, made a low growl-crooning noise in his throat, it was as close as a purr as he could get.
"Restless this morning, why such a hurry in waking up to the day?" Personally, he wanted to stay in today, he had plans of his own.

Nyx stopped her humming, smile still on her face. "Perhaps because I love being around you?" She moved to nuzzle him again. "Hearing your voice, seeing your eyes." In her opinion, he had a very nice voice. She'd wondered a few times if he could sing...but she didn't worry about it. Even if he couldn't sing a note, she'd still care for him as much as she did.

"My voice and my eyes?" it seemed strange she said she loved being around him. He'd never heard a female say such a thing, he never said a thing like that to a female either. Those he'd been with before, well, they were for their own gain, not his own. One had wanted a family, on both occasions, the other wanted to further her bloodline. He had no qualms in aiding them, and those were only the two more recent he could remember, many years had past and most things were lost to the wind.
"My eyes are not finished," he spoke simply, rolling onto his side, stretching out. His didn't even have pupils, he could confuse so many without meaning, just as his brother had full black, he had full white. They were opposites of one another.
He hadn't thought fully about his brother in a long time, would he ever wander this way?
"Is there anything in particular you wish to do today? You remember, I still must hide myself from everyone else..." he didn't want his form to be known, especially with the strange feeling he had around the others here.

"So? I still find them lovely. Despite their unfinished-ness, they still seem to draw me in and demand attention." She purred and nuzzled him.
"Well...there's a pool where the river exits the eastern border of the pride. There's quite a few beautiful fish. And in the earth surrounding it are stones like quartz. When the sunlight hits them...the ground sparkles."

"So, you wish to gaze at the fish and stone, or sweep one away and create something to adorn your form?" he was curious. It seemed so strange to him she would want to just watch something just out of reach that could cause her...and him, to be hungry. He was always hungry, usually, but he tried to hide it.
"I sense there is much you wish to do?"
Perhaps, but he could not be so certain.

She chuckled. "Well...if you're hungry, we can certainly catch some fish. And...I think I'd rather make something for you to wear, if you'd want to wear something." She stretched a bit, loosening a muscle that had been trying to tense.
"But it's also nice to just...sit back, and watch the world go by. Perhaps it's lazy, but it keeps things in focus."

Katana'k drew her closer to him, he breathed in her scent, his heart and body feeling at peace. He felt warm. "If you wish to make something for me, I shall be honored," he licked her cheek gently, just slight, and smiled, "as long as it isn't a pastel/bright color." He was monochromatic afterall, the only colors suitable to his taste were those that gave him honor, gave him prestige in the minds of others who looked upon him.
"Though if you wish to make something for me, I will for you," he stood and stretched himself, yawning, his tongue tasting the air. "I will forge something for you to be a tangible gift of my..affections," he smirked, quirking a brow.
"But we both must go search for such things yes?" he held a paw up, as if guiding her, "After you, my light."

Nyx nuzzled him when he drew her closer. "Bright and pastel colors would not suit you. Perhaps something...darker. Maybe garnets. Or carnelian." One was blood, the other was fire. Both, she thought, would complement him well.
And that he wanted to return the favor of a gift...well, that made her rather happy. She started out towards the pool she spoke of, happy to have Katana'k at her side.

"Darker fits I believe," he grinned, walking with her. He felt calm, almost in true solace, but then again, he had never experienced such a thing in purity alone. There was so much to do, and so little time now. His white eyes watched her move. She was the light and the dark, and in her eyes she held the color of fire, passion and life.
Flicking his tail as he walked, he hummed a song to her, one without words, the one his mother had hummed before she was taken away. Before he felt like his brother betrayed him, before this and now. Upon he back she had wings, it pained his heart to know she would never truly fly with him.
Perhaps one day.

Nyx listened contently a moment as they walked, before humming back, joining her voice with his. Perhaps she was foolish, for falling for a god. But nevertheless...she'd fallen, and fallen hard.
She only hoped she wouldn't be just a passing affection.
