So today, my best friend I haven't seen in forever (The Angel Traylenne on Gaia) told me she was selling the old Guild where we used to hang out, because I panicked over a couple banning PMs. I get on this mule today, and the My Gaia page tells me that a mutual friend (Tre's ex, actually) has joined a Guild. I get a really bad feeling... So I click the Guild Here's what I see. Same Guild, just a name change. What the hell am I supposed to say? Goddamnit, now I'm thinking that it wasn't just her parents not letting me see her... *goes off to bawl*

Nothing sucks more than other people dissolving a friendship. I've been there. You could try a last ditch effort to honestly tell your friend what you see going on, what you're afraid of (like loosing her as a friend forever), and reassure her that you'll always be there, even if she doesn't talk to you, just in case. Then it's really her decision whether or not to defy these controlling forces in her life (parents, boyfriends, etc) to be your friend. Ultimately, there's not much else that can be done. It takes 2 to make a relationship work. cry

i'm sorry dear.... Frost is right though, the only thing you can do about is try to talk to her. let her know how you fee, but also don't be judgemental. as hard as that sounds, the best way to deal with things like this is as non-confrontational as possible...

I don't have a non confrontational bone in my body. XD
I do have better news, though; I got a "job" as a translator at a new KH site that's not up and running yet. I think I'm officially the least-officially schooled translator in a semi-official position.

The problem is that if your any bit confrontational then it can have a tendency to make the other person to go into defensive mode and you won't accomplish anything but putting more distance between you. Oh and have a good one today Chief! I generally take my BDay off work and just try to relax for once.

Cool.. hey that means you can translate the manga raws right?? mrgreen
We got some language translations going on at work... outside company doing them and sending them to us and we just put them in place and send off to the customer to review. German is weird as words go from 6 English letters to like 15 with lots of consonants. We got some French, German, Italian, Japanese, Chinese-Simple, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, and soon some Tamil.
Let me tell you, without knowing Japanese I had to do tons of 'clean up' where they had screen caps in power point with text field changes pointing to circled words from the screen and I had to find that exact part and substitute the new characters. Took a LONG time... heck the biggest problem was he had comments in Japanese right along with the changes so I had to do Google Translate on alot of it to make sure I didn't put general comments into the stuff.
