We all know that thie current Abortion Thread is going to be shut down some time or another. This would be a good time to pre-plan a post and guidelines for the ED, since we will be in charge and will make the rules. Making it an actual debate for once.
Now my question is, who do we want to post the thread, and well, post some of your thread starting posts.

Yes, we don't need another thread like the one we have now. Someone fair, and will uphold the rules set forth.

I would say Miranda or myself. Not sure of any one else. McPhee sounds like a good candidate. Perhaps all three of us? Incase somthign should happen to one, the other two can pick up the slac

I'd say Kp, personally.
It just seems like a good fit.
Plus, he's polite, and all that good stuff.
I... don't think I'd like to be in charge of it. ><
Nah. Nah, I dun think so. That would send me to chucking myself out a window.
Those women... SOME of them... would just make me insane.
A lot of them are really nice, though. And honestly JUST want a debate.

I say, for moderators, we should have a thread with a poll and the guild can elect people based on how unbiased they are. First, though, we should have nominations in here, or wherever. Maybe start a new thread for nominations so that more people will notice it.

Pyrotechnic Oracle WHos the most active in the ED? That would be me, but I am the least informed of all of us. So I'm a bad choice.

Well, I just RETURNED to ED after a damn long hiatus after being sick of it.
I've only been posting in there more recently, though.
But Kp is pretty active in ED, too.

I personally say instead of having a nomination thing we have people that sign up for it and take shifts monitering the debate. I would suggest making a sticky thread where people can volunteer, and if the crew thinks that they are unbiased then they can PM them. I think it would be too much for only one or two people to handle.

Not to mention that half the normal ED debaters in that thread will be ignored from the thread withing 50 pages.
Eh, you guys are smarter than I, so this idea is in good hands.

also just as a point of reference, you might want to have a pro-choicer who is also that way be a mod in the thread. That way you can't be accused of acting the way you are because you guys are "evil anti-choicers".

Vivnox, I don't mean to sound...ohh...whats the word...I don't know so I'll just continue. But, most of the pro-choice moderators I've ever seen have shown themselves to be biased and showing favors for there own side.
Seriously, the only pro-choicers who I have a hard time seeing doing that is you. Your the only choicer that I personly trust

Anarchist Poptart I'll work on deleting individual posts, but moving the thread is out of the question. That topic has been the ED's official abortion thread for ages, and prevents countless repeats from being created. The pro-choice to pro-life rations should not affect a thread's status at all; it simply means that one side is more popular, or has been presented in a superior fashion. I'll also speak to another Extended Discussion moderator about issuing a public warning to stay on-topic within the thread itself. Given from a good friend. Unless someone decides to run in there posting undeletable pr0n, we're looking at a farcry right now. It does: of course, have grounds for deletion or moving, but it will depend on the mod to look at it. Neth will either look like an overly opinionated young lady to one mod, or a flaming warrior of pro-choicery to another.
