Another little flurry of snow fell from the top of the tree as the black and white mare made her way under through the small edge of the forest. The water still ran untouched by the icy edge of the half muddy frozen banks as the small whispering hum seemed to lull in her ears. She stretched out her body pulling the muscles in her legs from the ongoing stiffness from the somewhat bitter cold that still seemed to linger in the air. True the small edges of the snow had started to melt away allowing the small tidbits of brown grass to reach the glow of the rising sun however the air still seemed to keep the budding greens from appearing. Cerys still wasn’t sure if she had really any particular fondness of the cold wintery snow or if the soon to be budding land was the only thing she was looking forward to.
Giving a small snort she plunged her nose into the chilled river, she could feel the cool water sinking down her throat sending a shiver across her body, it always made her giggle. Yet this morning it seemed to fall on little ears, so few of creatures seemed to be stirring this morning not even a decent chorus of birds seemed to echo in the trees. She could try singing, though she wasn’t sure how well that would have turned out. Her brothers had told her she couldn’t even carry a well tuned note and that all of the birds were crying from the so called singing. However, believing her brothers all of the time seemed rather more like a trap than it did good advice.
Shaking her head she started out a small little whistling tune, so it wasn’t singing at least it was a little bit better than the rather depressing sound of nothingness.
