Jo looked around the corner of the hallway nervously; she was wearing a clean shirt and a skirt... a SKIRT! how in the hell could she allow herself to wear a SKIRT? becuase it was Valentines day that's why; and she was finally going to man up and give Sophi a valentine. Well that and becuase Amelia had made it painfully clear that if she didn't Jo would no longer be allowed to use her hair dye...
Jo closed her eyes and hid back behind the wall; trying to calm her nerves and work up the guts to go over to his door. She had a bag with her of supplies of how she'd planned to give him a valentine; it was unconventional and possible hazardous but she'd never given out a valentine before. And the only time she'd ever gotten any was when her brothers gave her theirs.
She totally didn't want to do this. I mean for gods sake she was wearing a skirt! She'd never worn a skirt! she wasn't even aware that she'd owned a skirt! not until she'd found a year after their take off hidden away in one of the bags her mother had packed for her. Too bad she couldn't have packed her any tops or shoes to go with it. Because there she stood now; with a button down work shirt, a skirt that barely made it to her knees.... and her big clunky boots. What a sight she must have made. She was just happy that Juno hadn't seen her yet; otherwise she was certain he would have had a field day.
Finally; after the hundredth time of sticking her head around the corner to look if the coast was clear; she awkwardly walked out from behind her hiding space and reached into her bag grabbing a spray can. The liquid in it was something of her own design; it would keep burning until it had made it's way trough the substance the it was supposed to be eating through and then it would stop burning altogether. It had taken her quite a bit of table tops to get that formula right.
Carefully she set it down and moved her goggles from the top of her head to cover her eyes; pulling her gloves on once the goggles were one. Slowly she stood up and grabbed for the spray can; her hand shaking slightly as she sprayed a shape on the door of Sophie's work room; where she KNEW he would be. She pulled out a lighter from her front shirt pocket as she sprayed a few words onto the door underneath the shape and flicked the lighter open revealing a small flame that she used to catch the words and shapes alike; before slamming on the door underneath the fire and dashing off for her life.
By the way; if you were wondering. On his door... A heart; with "You make me hot."

Valentine's Day.
A day formerly dedicated to his mother trying to set him up with simpering empty-headed females just because they had a nice pedigree. Like they were a bunch of poodles or something. Or Thoroughbred horses. Not people.
Irritating, spoiled, haughty, snobbish girls.
Who wanted absurdly expensive imported candy, gold diamond-studded jewelry, and several thousand dollar shopping sprees. Yeah, thanks but no thanks. Actually, make that just no. No way. Nu-uh. No chance. Never.
Getting part of his hand blown off would be preferable. And he would know. Because it happened.
Flexing his mechanical fingers, Sophie grinned. Here, he was no one. Just another member of the crew. A mechanic no less. Not even someone 'important'...well, unless they really, really needed a mechanic.
Nope. He would not have a bunch of well-bred annoyances pawing at his daddy's money. Valentine's day for him was now just another day on the Peregrine. No more, no less, and that was just how he liked...it.
Frowning slightly, Sophie sat up, yanking the front of his sweatshirt more or less unwrinkly as he stood. Who would bang on his door like that? Sticking the screwdriver he'd been using to mess with his hand through his belt, he ambled barefoot over to the door, frowning slightly as he opened it. What in the wor-
"JO!" he yelped, staring at the flames eating their way through the wood. That it was her, he'd no doubts. Who else would do something like this? He didn't notice it was a heart for a few moments, and even after he was not much amused.
His door was on fire!!
"JO!" he yelled again, having not the least bit means to put it out in his room. He probably should consider stalking a fire extinguisher or something though, given the person he spent most of his time with.

Jo hadn't really run away from the door; nor sprinted; more like she ran back to the place she'd been hiding. Because honestly; there were so many band aides on her legs right now from having to shave for the first time in her life thanks to the skirt; that she was certain that if she did run they'd all fall off. So instead she waited for Sophie's reaction... but when it wasn't the way she'd wanted it to be she stuck her head around the corner; only exposing her head. She wasn't sure if anyone other than Amelia and the ships medic had ever seen her with out her apron on; and it made her uncomfortable enough as it is just to hide with out it.
She looked at Sophie an angry look in her eyes and yelled. "IT'S A VALENTINES YOU a**! APPRECIATE IT!"
Of course; once she'd done this she realized that it had obviously given away her hiding space and that given the fact that Sophie was probably mad at her; and so much taller than her; he'd be able to catch her if she ran. So; rather than being run down in a skirt; she moved away from her hiding spot nervously and pulling at the bottom of her skirt to cover more of her already band aide covered legs.
"Cause you know... It's valentines day and um... yeah."
