Mikki swept the dank and dimly lit hair salon she manged in peace. Mikki was seventeen, four foot
seven, petite, dark skin, with short nappy brown hair and dim green eyes. She worked here under the
order of her older sister, Natalie, who kept ranting about how her childish nature would ruin them and
that is she didn't earn half her weight in food that she'd be kicked into a shelter but she wouldn't stay
in HER house. Mikki didn't care though, besides her naggy sister things were good. She enjoyed her
job and the people she met here. Watching peoples hair transform infront of her was an astonishing to
her, like the birth of an universe or a star being lit for the first time. "Magic."Se told Jasmine, the white
woman shop keeper and chief beautition.
More then anything, she desperately she loved the rain, she saw it as the praze from the gods,
sending their healing hands in the form of rain to bless entire cities. Today it as raining, a little more
than a sprinkle. She took breaks in frequent intervals to simply admire it all. The patting of the water
on the rusty tin roof, the collection of muddy water infront of the salon's open front, the suddle swelling
of the open-wind wood supports as they drank the rain in. It took her breath away.
She had just gotten lost in the oblivion of her inner thoughts when suddenly a loud noise brought
her out of her fantasy. She turned around and saw a crater in the ground where people traditionally
got the hair cut. Thank god she was the only one the place. She looked up and there was a beam
of light petruding through the newly aquired hole of the roof. Something stured slowly deep in the
crater. Mikki gripped her broom tightly, feeling the wood training in her gripped as she scooted closer
to the large hole. A slender, shimering hand grabbed the muddy ledge ledge, gripping the slick material
and attempting to pull itself up. The mud didn't hold as it slid back into the crater, a thunderous crash
was heard as it hit all the maertials dragged into the hole ,roofing, floor.
"Who...... what are you?" Mikki asked pearing into the hole slowly, leaning her head gently over the
ledge of the crater.
"Who..... what are you?" Came and odd voice that mimiced her tone. SHe leaned farther to see what
this was when suddenly the light shimmered off the object and she staggered, placing too much weight
for the mud to handle as she slipped.
She closed her eyes and squeeled as she fell, then calmed down when she was in cold wet arms of
her new hero. She opened her eyes and looked at the matallic creature that held her, head tilted, studying
her intently. It was obviously a male by it's build and mimic of the male frame. The sun shown through the
clouds and the light glimmered on his matalic frame, the rain, that fell gently now, mixed with his new
shine formed a golden ring above his head. Her eyes watered with joy as he brought her out of that reched
pit. He sat her down on her feet and she shouted in glee. "You've come You've come! Finally! I prayed and
prayed and prayed and now you are here!" She hugged his muddy body, getting herself coated in the
brown muck. "O-mecha! The robot god!" She proclaimed taking hs hand as he absently followed her.She
showed him around her village-town, the mayors office, the grocery store, her secret spot in a tree next
to an old river under the north-western brigde of their town.
He seemed lifeless, processing it all, rebooting, it was hard to tell and no one knew really. It had been
three days sense she found him and he had become a hit with all the locals. They loved him, he was well
mannered, did what he was asked, he even fixed the barber shop, making a few changes, and increasing
it's style. Now Jasmine's Beauty Supplies and Hair Cuts was THE place to be seen. Unfortunately, Natalie
hadn't changed. She was becoming annoyed with O-mecha, or whatever it was. Mikki had been teaching
him so many new things that she hardly worked, which ment she barely brought enough money to live on.
The third day came around earlier then usual for Mikki. Something awoke her from her deep sleep before
the sun had arose. She wiped her eyes and noticed that he was gone. She got dressed and began her
search. She looked everywhere in the house, calling his name. She stepped outside and found him on the
roof of there five story, nearly condemned do to poor living conditions, apartment complex. He was staring
into the rising sun like he had just awoken from death and wished to ook at the world like he used to. She
found an easy way onto the roof and stood next to him. She suddenly felt the chill of th night air on her skin,
she shivered and held herself. Mikki reached out towards the machine, feeling it's cold frame, her hand was
temporarily stuck to it's arm from the difference in tempreture. How long had he been out of here?
"You Called me.... O-mecha..... the robot God.What is,God?" It asked in a metallic tone. that definately
had the remnents of male in it's voice.
"God is a biiiiiig guy who has an army or angels." She explained, but to no avail. It simply ased what
angels were and without anythng to really give him an understanding of the concept she decided to show him.
Mikki back up and slipped suddenly on the loose unattended shingles. She slid down the roof and off, her
body turning forward like a sick joke, letting her see her death. She closed her eyes, screaming. There were
wierd noises to be heard all around her and when she opened her eyes she was safely above the bground,
suspended by her shirt tail. He gently sat her down and bent low to her level, scanning her for injuries.
"You are.... unharmed? He asked standing up. She had never noticed how tall he was, almost seven feet
tall she guessed.
"Yes, thanks to you." She chimed happily.and hugged his waist tightly. "I understand now, you aren't
O-mecha, yu are an angel yourself ! " She grabbed his hand and lead her through the maze of fragile stair
cases and broken rail guards until they reached her apartment and she let themselves in.
They got in the house and looked around. It didn't seem like Natalie was up, that ws a god send. "Be very
quiet, we don't want to wake her up." Mikki whispered to her metallic angel. They began to slink across the
house silently, dodging pizza crusts, disguarded guarments, and foul smelling spills.
They got to her room and she pulled out an array of movies with angels and demons and gods and more.
She watched one before passing out but her friend watched them all, learning from them, human nature,
behavior aspects, the difference between good and evil, what it ment to be alive. He Got up after rewiding her
films andexplored the house with his new understanding of existence. While passing by Natalie's room he
picked up a few suddle vocal vibrations. He turned up hs hearing sensitivity and listened in.
"I can't wait until next week! That stupid little b***h will finally get out of MY house! I have a shitty little
orphanage picked ut and everything! I'll also go ahead and pawn of that stupid ******** robo-pal of hers as
well." She chuckled with joy as she finished her statement.
