Coming of age... Being recognized as an adult had enormous responsibilites. Furiko hadn't realized how big those responsibilites really were until they had been staring him in the face.
After the ceremony recognizing him as an adult he'd had to make a choice of what tribe he wanted to become a part of for the rest of his life. The decision had been hard as he never really put any thought into where he'd wanted to go while he was young. All his other siblings had known exactly where they had wanted to go but he had been a tad unsure.
He could have joined the mzazi's and stayed right where he was but he wasn't a lion who really saw himself watching after cubs all day. He could have also been an usuhjaa, his mother was the Gumu of the usuhjaa and her mate, who he considered his father, was also an usuhjaa. However he really didn't see himself as a fighter either. With two tribes crossed from his list he really only had one choice left where he could possibly fit. The mwindaji tribe were the hunters, food providers and very important to the life of the whole pride. The mwindaji is where he could fit without too much effort. It couldn't be that hard to hunt game and take it to the other tribes. How wrong he felt right now.
Stalking prey and being silent were very hard for him and he was still learning. He felt a failure most of the time when he returned to the mwindaji's camp without a scrap of meat. He was not happy with his failures and he was sure beyond a doubt that the other members of mwindaji were unhappy too. Today he was assigned to take meat to the other tribes. In what he felt was an odd form of punishment he was given one of the heavier carcasses to drag to the usuhjaa tribe. It was hard work on his still growing muscles but with such workouts he was bound to build up some very strong muscles once he reached the peek of his growth.
Though at the moment his muscles were burning from the strain and he was only half way to the usuhjaa tribe.
