I get asked variations of this question from time to time regarding the ending of a booty grab game.

Q: this stupid game scammed me on my score and never gave me my game results. wtf?
Q: I never got my gold at the end of the game. Why?

A: The game did not 'scam' you.
The answer to 'wtf' is you were experiencing lag between your computer and Gaia's servers.

The game downloads.
The game then plays completely autonomous on your computer.
When the game finishes it reports back to gaia with your score and the the score is saved and your gold is awarded. If your internet connection is lagging (or Gaia's server or your computer is bogged down) at that point you will sometimes not see the score or it will take a long time.

Sometimes when it comes up slowly you get the 'Ta-Da!' sound several times, each time with a bit more of the graphics. Like, first nothing, then just your avi, then both avis. I've seen it do that four or five times.

USUALLY you still get your gold if you just wait an extra minute or two before closing out of the game window. I have received my gold when I never saw the score at all. My thought on that is the computer succeeded in sending the score info back to Gaia but then Gaia lagged when trying to send the score graphic back to you.

Note: I've had a number of folks message me back saying when they refreshed the screen they realized they DID get the gold even though they never saw a score displayed on screen.
