 Nightheart was casually strolling around, not a care in the world. The sun would be setting soon, and she loved the night. Things happened at night, interesting individuals lay in the night, waiting to be discovered. The sky began to turn many colors as the sun began to sink under the horizon. She wondered what would happen, who she would meet. Where would she go tonight? Somewhere outside of the city sounded nice. The park was almost like somewhere outside the city. She looked up at the sky, and saw a dragon flying. She wondered what it was like to fly. She had no wings on her back, she'd never fly. Well, she might be scared to fly. That was okay though, because long night runs always felt good. The sun was almost below the horizon now. She began to walk again.

 Kinark looked around nervously, it was getting dark, and he couldent find anyone he know, he had somehow been separated from the other dragons that hi lived with. he couldn't even remember how it had happened, maybe he had run? very few at home were ever nice to him, they enjoyed teasing him and scaring him but he hated it, he wished they would all just go away. well.. it seems like he had gotten his wish, but now he wished he had never wished it at all, being with them was better than being lost on the street

As Nightheart walked, she noticed a dragon with varying shades of blue and black, looking quite scared. She felt the urge to walk over to see what was wrong. Well, couldn't hurt. She walked over to him, and asked, in a soft, somewhat concerned voice, "Are you okay? You look scared". Hopefully, it was something that could be sorted out. She didn't like it when others were in distress.

he jumps a few feet in the air and lands like a cat who had just been dropped, she had startled him, he hadnt expected anyone to speak to him " he stares at her "w-who are you?" he asks backing up a pace

Nightheart was surprised when he jumped so high in sheer terror. "Don't be afraid, I just wanna help. I'm Nightheart; who are you?" she asked, speaking softly to avoid frightening him. She tried to look as non-threatening as possible. Judging from his step backwards, he could bolt at any time if she made a sudden movement, or spoke too loudly, or looked too threatening.

he lowers his head a bit in a somewhat submissive move, she wasnt as big as him, but she could still attack, though she seemed nice he didnt want to provoke her " uhm... my n-names Kinark" he says looking away shyly

She smiled, a light and encouraging smile. She had to admit, though he wasn't very brave, he was a somewhat attractive male. "Alright, Kinark", she paused, she liked the name, "Why are you so frightened? I wouldn't expect someone so easily frightened to wander the streets alone at night". She decided that he was probably lost, though she wasn't quite sure.

he looks down at the ground as if ashamed " i-i got lost... everyone at home is so mean to me, i left for a while, just to get away but i wanst paying attention and i got lost...."

She'd been right, he was lost. She looked at him sympathetically. "It's alright, everyone gets lost at some point." She'd help him get home if he knew where he lived. "I can help you get home if you'd like, if you kinda know where you live. I mean, unless you wanna stay out longer. I can keep you company, keep the scary things away." It would be nice to spend more time with him, getting to know the fearful dragon. Maybe she could be the one who swooped in to save the day for him, even if she couldn't fly.

he looks at her raising his head a bit " y-youd really help me?" he asks thinking about it for a moment "i-i dont know where i live... besides im... not really ready to go home yet... as soon as i do they'll just make fun of me again" he says, she seemed nice enough...she hadnt made fun of him yet, or attacked him... maybe this was a good sign?

The look on her face was reassuring. She had no intent of making fun of him or attacking him. "Of course I'd help you." She said, as he paused to think about it. Even if she had to walk him home, she'd know where he lived, and be able to visit him as she pleased. As he spoke, her smile grew into a grin. This would be fun. "Alright. I'll show you how to survive on the streets then, for as long as we travel together. Then they won't be able to make fun of you, because you can survive!" she said. She'd lived most of her life on the streets, with no responsibilities. She hadn't seen her parents in awhile and barely kept up with her Clan. And even then, her life before living on the streets had taught her to be kind to others. Which was why she was here, with a new friend, to be traveling and teaching him to survive on the streets.
Plus, she rather liked him, even though he was shy and fearful.

"Yeah, it's real easy once you get into it." she said. Useless? There could be teasing insults, that was okay, but in her mind, no one was useless. "It all starts with energy, and stamina and stuff. C'mon, let's go outside the city for a quick run. I promise, I'll do everything in my power to keep you safe." The moon was out, it was a gibbous moon. There was easily enough light to see. And maybe if they got far enough away, they'd be able to go stargazing after their run. If he agreed to come, of course.

he nods shyly " alright, lead the way i guess" he didnt have anything to loose at his point, and running was his strong point, since he was always having to run away from everyone at home

Nightheart led the way through the city, trotting at an easy pace. When they reached the outside, her pace became faster. Outside of the city were great plains and rolling hills. "If you can't keep up, just let me know." she said, as she began to run. They would come back to the city later, when it was time to take care of things. The light pollution from the lights left few stars visible, at least at this distance anyway.
