I just got word from my college in Minnesota that I've been nominated to go study in Hiroshima, Japan for a year. The nomination isn't official, but the Hiroshima University has almost never in history turned down a nomination.
I feel like I should be more excited about this. It's something I applied for, something I thought I wanted to do. And it's such an amazing opportunity.
But I've spent the last 24 hours completely freaking out, thinking I can't handle it.

Me, a history buff, would totally check out the after effects of the nuclear bomb....
that wouldn't effect you right?

I've been to Japan, and it's great there! You shouldn't be afraid to go because this is a good opportunity that not everyone can have.

I'm pretty sure over the passing of this much time, the city is more than safe to inhabit. I don't know if there are residual traces or not, though...
