I heart you, Tsuka-man! I was feelin' real bad about Shin-chan's lack-of-threadage!
ANYWAY...
Shinya is one of best drummers in the jrock world... he kicks serious a** and yet he looks like he's not even breaking a sweat...
And we all love his dog.

Hmm, I like Shinya's drumming in Macabre and 304 Goshitsu, Hakushi no Sakura. I like the songs he wrote, too. Especially umbrella and Raison D'etre.

i think shinya is a great drummer. it's fun watching him cause he moves so fast! they should show more of shinya during lives. or at least have cameratime spread out evenly among the members.

Shinya's been my favorite member since I first saw him in the Yokan PV. Of course, back then I was yet uneducated and thought, "HOLY F*&%! That's the most amazing female drummer I've ever heard!" sweatdrop But even so, his speed and pure energy while drumming has always amazed me.
Hotarubi was the first song of theirs that I heard after Yokan, and the first one that I heard that I knew to be Dir en grey (if you read my intro post it gives you the whole story). It's left a lasting impression on me, and Shinya's ability to compose something like that, which was only his second or third song on an album, blew me away. Not only that, but, even though he might have had help, he was composing with violins. None of the others had done that before. (It helps that I adore the violin, probably, but still xd )
Also in general Shinya's story is one of those amazing ones. I mean, he was in La:Sadie's when he was 17/18, Dir en grey officially comes together when he's 19, and by the time he's 20, they've got a #7 debuting single on the Oricon charts which breaks the records of an indies single sales. How many 20 year olds do you know who have done that?
And now I have to be fan-girly: OMFG he's so adorable ^________^ Even when he's not dressed up and made up to be pretty, he's still, in my opinion, really, really good looking. And every time I see him playing around with the other guys in the backstage extra clips and whatnot, I have to coo at him, because his smile is just too damn cute.

Didn't they have to wait for Shinya to finish highschool at one point? xd
I love Hotarubi as well (I'm a violin player ^^) but it really is such a beautiful song. I find it amusing how much the songs Shinya wrote contrast to each other though! eek

I find it amusing how much the songs Shinya wrote contrast to each other though! eek Yeah - he was finishing all through out the years of La:Sadie's. He'd just gotten out by the time they debuted 'I'll', I think. I would love to learn the violin - but I know that's never going to happen 'cause I wouldn't ever sit down to practice. I wish Shin-chan would compose more. Although, at this point, it's almost impossible to tell who's composed what, 'cause it's always just labled 'Dir en grey'. I guess it means they're all writing the lines for their own instruments? Eh. sweatdrop This is why I just sing >_>;; Writing music=too fraggin' confusing.
