It was the first time she'd transformed since the night she'd been attacked and, really, she'd been hesitant to do so. Various thoughts had raced through her mind, questions and curiosities and a thousand 'what ifs'. She would never find those answers though if she didn't try; if she didn't experiment.
She had started by taking a tour around the rooftops of the town, amazed by how quiet things could be at this hour. There were still several hours before dawn; some time before her parents would notice that she was missing from her room at home, if they noticed at all. She shook her head, sighing softly as she made her way to the park. If anything maybe she'd be able to get in a little bit of thought there...

"Corvus." Was the only words said to call to the senshi as she entered the park. The voice seemed to be calling to her from behind one of the benches- the voice seemed familiar. Upon wandering closer, you would see perched on top of said bench a familiar, tiny siamese feline. Deep blue eyes were staring at the senshi thoughtfully. "I have been looking for you. Due to that....ah- distraction the other day i thought you deserved a more in depth explanation." Taking one paw she patted the space next to her- asking the senshi to sit.

Corvus. The voice was so soft it almost struck her as being a dream; like, but unlike, the various strange dreams she'd been having lately. There was a difference in this one, though. This voice was actually here.
"You're... You're that cat." She could have spoken with accusation, given how rough and confusing their first meeting had been, but she didn't. Instead she smiled, holding a gloved hand out to the feline before realizing that it was talking to her. She was talking to her, looking not for pets or scratches or treats, but for explainations.
Her brow furrowed slightly, teeth worrying lightly at her lower lip as she took a seat on the bench. "I haven't been out much... My parents were worried when the police called the house to report that my wallet had been turned in. Is it always like this?"

"Sometimes. Other times it can be worse than this." Chloe settled down, staring into the distance for a moment before snapping back to her normal self. "You were lucky, you know that right? If those police men wouldn't have shown up- your skin might have been on the line. That negaverse girl was clearly new- not used to her position. Distractions like that don't normally stop them." Chloe flicked her tail around in irritation now just thinking about it- they might have lost Corvus that time. "You did seem to get a grasp on your power though- for a moment your senshi side shined through." As a defense mechanism? Maybe. But it did save her.
"Call me Chloe." She added with a slight hint of irritation- she liked being called 'the cat' as much as being called 'hey you' or 'the Siamese'.

"Chloe..." She tested the name for a moment, letting it linger in her mind before nodding as she committed it to memory. If she ever came across the talking Siamese again she would remember to call her by her name.
The rest of what the small feline was saying settled into her mind not long after that, causing her brow to furrow just a little bit further. "Believe me, I know how lucky I am. I felt the panic, the fear, the pain... But there was something else, like you said. It's strange, trying to think of a way to describe it." There was a brief pause as she turned her head to look at the cat, Chloe. "Negaverse? Is that... Is that what that psycho was?"

"Not was, is." Chloe was never one to with hold information unless it was dire need, which this was something the senshi needed to know, so of course she let the words flow. "The Negaverse is a organization thats purpose is to take over the world as we know it. They are a military run body of people, or agents as i call them, with different rankings depending on power and experience." She knew this from the dreams- dreams that she still received now and then from Astraea. Plus she has run into a agent herself now and then.
"For some reason their main goal is to collect Star Seeds- raw power. A Star seed is... to be blunt, someones soul. That is what the agent the other day wanted from you, more-so once she saw a senshi. A senshi starseed is way more powerful than a regular human star seed. Luckily there is a bit of magic, so when she saw you for the second time she did not know that you both were the same person." Her voice suddenly took on a more serious undertone. "Your identity is one thing you can not toss around lightly. A agent may be anywhere, there are always eyes looking around every corner. If they figure out who you are, they will stop it nothing to kill you, your family, and everyone you ever knew."

"So this... All of this..." She waved her hands around to motion her world, her own little personal bubble. "... Could all just come crashing down on top of me at any moment if someone finds out who I am because some group of militaristic psychopaths are trying to steal souls?" It was a lot to take in and if it weren't for the fact that she was already sitting beside a talking cat while wearing her 'magical girl gear' she would have laughed it off and walked away.
It was too late to walk away.
From the moment she'd taken her henshin pen from the mouth of the little cat sitting beside her it had been to late, even more so when she'd spoken the words that had sealed her fate. There was no turning back, no matter how frightening it all seemed, no matter how heavily it weighed on her.
"So the recent disappearances... The deaths, the attacks, the reports of monster sightings? That's them?"

Doing a clearly feline move- she stretched her legs in front of her and gave a little yawn. She didn't mean to be rude- it was just getting late and she had been up all night as well. "Pretty much. Except its not like you have to keep your identity completely under wraps- but i strongly suggest only letting someone you have confirmed as another senshi, and whom you TRUST, know. Maybe have you both de henshin down at the same time. Be careful with some senshi too- remember that little bit of 'sailor nea' on the news ages ago? That was a agent pretending to be a senshi. I havent heard any other news of a rogue senshi like her for a while... but there are probably some out there. The majority of the senshi are good."
"I watch over a team of six senshi, they all meet in civilian gear once in a while."
"As for the deaths etc... yes, more than likely it is their doing mostly. Some of the killings might have been from humans playing their own games, but sudden heart attacks of 15 year olds? Probably had their star seed removed." She gritted her teeth together- she hated to admit that people were dying.
"The monster sightings are all too real as well, unfortunately. They are called "youma", they are normally stupid beasts whom want nothing more than to gnaw your leg off. Some of the youma, though insanely rare, have some brain cells. Though the majority you will meet are stupider than a wet sponge."

"I haven't met any others yet, but I'll remember that." She nodded slowly, idly twirling a strand of hair around her finger as she drifted into thought for a moment. Not too long, though, as the talk of monster sightings soon dragged her back down to the here and now.
"So it's our job to protect Destiny City from the Negaverse... And from these youma? I mean, along with keeping up with grades and appearances in school and all to keep family from worrying and friends from wondering what's going on. Isn't that a lot to expect from a teenage girl?"
Her shoulders fell slightly as her head tilted up towards the sky, eyes focused on the slip of crescent moon above. "... What about the dreams, Chloe? Are they all real too?"

"Killing more sponge brained youma than agents, most likely. The youma are more frequent, the Negaverse agents tend to act more secretly and are not as abundant in numbers. No one ever said this life was easy." She laughed- there was a mixture of amused sarcasm in the sound. "Destiny is a concept some people do not believe in, but you were chosen to be a senshi. Kind of ironic if you think about where we live- Destiny City. You'll get used to it in time trust me."
Chloe looked up as well, a gesture probably to show she understands what she means. "The gentle dreams you get are reminders of whom we are looking for, all senshi and even guardian cats get them. It is another sign that being a senshi IS your true destiny." Chloes eyes glistened in the moonlight- thinking of the one they all needed to find. "We are looking for our Princess." She whispered under her breath- not sure if corvus really needed more to worry about. Everything she will come to realize in time.

"Even if people don't believe in it, it kind of has its way of making itself known anyways... Doesn't it." Cordelia Carden, currently Sailor Corvus, hadn't been much of one to believe that destiny was anything more than the name of the city they lived in. Now, sitting here with Chloe, she couldn't help but snort softly at the pointed out irony of the situation.
The two seemed to share a moment of silence, both gazing at the sky, both seemingly lost in thought. Eventually she broke it by sighing softly as she shifted. "... It's getting late. I bet you have a home to return to... A nice warm bed, even?"

While the silence was over them- Chloe's mind was lost in thought. Thoughts that jumbled themselves up over and over, and was only broken once Corvus spoke. "I guess i can call it my home." Chloe..never really thought of it that way. Sailor Lyra was someone that she enjoyed following around, and someone that had opened her home to her. Hell, Lyra's mother even fed her once in a while (human food not that nasty cat food.) And if the mom failed to, Lyra always brought her food. She just never thought of it as a home- as a protector of senshi she didn't really have time to settle down and relax that often.
Standing up the cat gave one final stretch and looked over her shoulder at the senshi. "You better get some sleep too." Chloe nodded once and then darted off into streets and turned around a corner disappearing from sight.

"Good night to you too, Chloe." She chuckled softly, thankful for the momentary feeling that maybe the weight of the world wasn't bearing down only on her own shoulders. There were others out there too... Somewhere, just like their Princess.
She let those thoughts linger with her as she made her way home. Tomorrow, maybe, she'd think more on the other things; the Negaverse and the youma. Tonight? Tonight Cordelia Carden would have sweet dreams.
