In the Alpha Centauri System 4.37 light years from Earth lays a star called Alpha Centauri A. This star serves as a sun to the planet Polyphemus which has 14 moons. Three of those moons can sustain life much like our earth. Polyphrmus was discovered when looking at Alpha Centauri A. It displayed a very strong magnetic field and as a result bigger telescopes were built to see it. This was how they discovered the moons and one of the life sustaining moons... Pandora.
Pandora is much like earth it has a liquid iron core. Its atmosphere is 20% denser than out and has 18% more carbon dioxide. It gravity is 20% less than our own. The human race immediately set out for this planet. Using exo-packs to be able to breath, once on the planet they discovered the mineral 'Unobtanium' which had superconducting magnetic properties and could be used for anti matter energy generators for interstellar and deep space travel. The humans quickly set up camp unaware of what sorts mystical and horrific things they would meet on Pandora

This is log number 1.0.0 of my Journey to Pandora. I have been instructed to start logging all information about my trip so I figured why not start now before the trip. No reason not to get an early start. It's 0300 hours and I am unable to sleep. Why sleep? They're going to be putting me to rest for about the next 7 years, so why do I need a good nights rest now? Ok let's actually begin. I am on the defense team for exploring Pandora, My name is Lieutenant field officer Kirk Turok, the AMP field mechanic division. Ever since I was little I been building, repairing, and piloting suits. I guess that's why they wanted me there. I am well trained, very skilled at AMP combat, and have experience doing mechanic work in hostile environments. As I was told everything going to Pandora has to be prepared for hostile anything. That's why I'm bring Jicarilla, it means Supreme God in my language. Jicarilla here is built a bit tougher then the average amp suit with Plexiglas coverings designed to take heavy artillery. It's reinforced better, made from better parts and just all round tougher built then the average AMP. Lucky for me because Pandora only has 80% the gravity of Earth so a little extra weight won't be that bad. I have 4 years training with AMPs suit; including building, repairing, and piloting them. I also have 2 years marine training which include vesicle, both weapon and hand to hand combat, and survival. I was trained to fight all kinds of hostile terrain. You don't get much more hostile then Pandora. Apparently I was a perfect candidate to go. Not many people train to fight in hellholes and I make a living fighting in them. I also have several tours under my belt with little casualties to my fellow solders. They asked me to go because they thought I would love to test my suit in that terrain, also teh pay was great. Given I look forward to both facts I have however other reasons. *Sighs* well I guess I should explain, not like they will care why. I am of the Apache tribe and as a right of passage in the days centuries ago a man had to go into the wilderness to hunt and kill a predator. This was a test to learn respect for Nature and it proved ones place in the tribe. Problem is now a day there are no forests or predatory animals. Hell the only animals stupid and domesticated. And we barely see those considering how much fake food we eat. I want to experience a real hunt, take a journey like my ancestors did. HEHEhe yeah that does sound like a load but well ..... but there is something missing in my life. I joined the army in hopes of finding what I needed. It gave me discipline but not the what I was missing. I am one of the last of my tribe... these traditions are long forgotten and our blood has thinned so badly that there are barley any Natives around. The ones that are barley have any of their original blood in them. Our race has practically been breed into extinction. I guess I don't know what to do with my life or who I am, or even where I came from but for sure I need this. My ancestors went on vision quests to find their answers so why shouldn't I? Even if I am the last of my tribe I wish to be the last real Native, one who actually earned his place, even if I die trying. See this? It's one tough animal that I plan on hunting. It's called a thanator. You see something like this will kill me. That is what I'll hunt because it will hunt me. Not in a suit or with a gun, but with a bow an arrow. Yeah using a dead art to hunt a creature we have little data on. It's crazy but hey it's something to do. Well I should get some rest before I take my deep sleep. Log 1.0.0 out.........

Blue skin blended in with the surroundings around her as she watched something completely foreign travel through the land of Eywa. Bangs hung softly against her face and the rest of her hair which wasn't braided back fell across her shoulder onto the moss of the trees. Eyktan had warned her and the rest of the Omatikaya to stay away from these new creatures that seemed to come from the sky. He had no desire to find out what they wanted but she was curious. They were so strange, not in just the way they dressed but with each movement, each new thing she saw them with. They looked so unsure of the land all around them. Hadn't Eywa assured them there was nothing to fear.
She had yet to see on of the make a tsahaylu yet? Surely the great mother had called out to them, Eywa was the mother of all, to the forest, the trees, to the Na'vi, to the Ikran, even Toruk. So why, why did these new creatures look so lost on the land.

This is log two, 6 years 10 months and 4 days have passed since my last log entry and I now currently on Pandora. This is my second day here and I have yet to get a chance to leave the base. I have been briefed of what we know. Jicarilla took the trip well, but then again I'd be surprised if he didn't. I am finishing up his staues checks and having him fully ready for duty. Tomorrow will be my first trip into the forest. My mission is doing simple recon of the local area. My perimeter is several clicks out side the base and it has been set up as a solo mission. Considering how new this place is they don't have the man power to send full groups.... well they do but the full groups are for confirmed hostile territory. Little is know about the native life, that or they're with holding information. I think their idea is to send our the new guys and those who come back are worth keeping, it's a barbaric way of weeding out the weak. But I could be over thinking this. I look forward to my first trip out. I need to double check my Amp suit and get some rest..Video log 1.2.0 out.

I slinked around through the lowest part of the canopy slowly and deadly silent as I watched this thing move through the forest. It was so foreign and moved as if it had stiff joints. It also made a lot of noise. I wondered what sort of creature Eywa had created in some distant place. I was yet again ignoring Eyktan's orders to stay away Tawtute but they brought with them so much to see. So many things different. The only thing that disturbed me was that they were pulling up the trees of the forest and digging under them for rocks. Was this how they lived, maybe they ate the rocks they were digging up. I should try to find some in case I encounter one of the things.
I followed the things traveling through the forest as it moved deeper and deeper. It seemed to be looking for something or watching for something. Did it know I was here. I froze suddenly unsure what to do. If it knew I was here than should I reveal myself, so as not to appear any harm to it or continue to hide. I chose to show myself moving across the canopy to in front of it where I dropped to the forest floor before it showing myself. "Oe kame ngenga." I said the formal greeting softly.

Kirk begin his first expedition being ordered to gather samples of the surrounding area. Breathing in the entire atmosphere of this land he is in aw. He spins his amp around looking at how vast this place was and without concentrating he puts too much weight on a tree knocking it a a few more down. Great he thinks to himself I may just have announced my presence. He listens and hears nothing but the wild. He again studies the ground and grabs another sample. As he stores the minerals he picks up something on his sensor, a life form. While trying to get a baring, he aims his gun not sure where an attack will come from. He is caught off guard while locating the signal by the life form jumping right in front of him. Unsure what she....I hope I got this right said he watches her body movements. Seemingly friendly Kirk lowers his weapon and waves at her. "Um Hi" he utters over his speaker.

"’Upe?" I questioned looking over the thing as it spoke to me. I didn't understand what it had said to me, and that waving motion was curious too. I mimicked it looking at my own hand as I did it. Then I switched hands doing the same with the other hand. I looked back to the curious looking creature, confused by it all together.

Watching her duplicate his cations Kirk past his chest pointing to himself and responds again "Kirk, My name is Kirk Tuork. What is your name?" He asks and point to the blue giant girl. He holsters his gun having to interest in staring trouble already.

I looked around frantic as the thing spoke the name of Toruk. I quickly looked up and around very confused as I didn't see any sign of the creature. "Tsengpe Toruk?" I questioned looking back at the creature. It was pointing at me. Did it think I was Toruk, no it had pointed to itself first. It was Toruk, Kirk Toruk is what it had said. So strange. Maybe that was what it was called. "Kxanì." I answered touching my hand to my chest.

Pointing to the blue girl I confirms "Kxinì" then point to myself I once again say "Kirk Turok. Wow first encounter with an alien race. Who would have thought a grunt would be the one." I wa s unsure if I should try and explain what an amp was. No she was.. she and I was confused enough.

"Kea, Kxanì." I explained giving more annunciation so it could learn my name. "Kirk Toruk," I said pointing at him "Kxanì." I continued touching my chest again. It was nice to actually talk to one of these creatures now I could tell Eyktan that they weren't bad, it hadn't attacked me after all. "Tsengpe si aynga za’u ta?" I questioned curiously. There were so many things I wanted to ask the creature.

I point to her again correcting my mispronunciation "Kea Kxanì". Fractionally watching her body language because I understand only her name and nothing more. I assume she is speaking a language and is part of a civilized group by her garments and the construction of her noises. Unfortunately not knowing the language and having no way to translate, I shrug look confused. She should read my body language too. I hope she can I hope I'm not giving her too much credit. At least she seems friendly and willing to try. That is a start.

"Kea, kea, kea." Kxani said shaking her head with each word. It was obvious the man didn't understand her. "Kxani." she said patting her chest once more. Kxathi looked around for something to help her explain what she was trying to say.

"No kea?" pointing to her and shaking my head "You just Kxani?" trying to confirm that was her name and that maybe the kea part was maybe was thier version of saying I am. Then points to myself to confirm this as being right or wrong by saying "Kea Kirk Turok?" still slightly confused on how to break this language barrier. Studying her body a notice her weapon, wait she has two weapons I know about. Starting with the most basic I point to Jicarilla's knife and draw it holding both the blade and handle trying not to be threatening. "Knife" I enunciate then point to what looks like her blade holstered to her side.

"Srane, Kxani." Kxani said nodding smiling. She tilted her head to the side as he said said Kea with his name. It sounded like how she had said it before but he had said kea. Kxani jumped back drawing her own knife as the creature drew its weapon. "Knife, takuk." she said pointing to her own weapon. "Srane takuk?" she questioned.
