Fantasia: *is checking The Thorn Wall as he does every few days or so. reports had been lacking there, and with the initial entrance ceremony alll finished up, it seemed that activity had once more begun to plummet. He frowned slightly at this, but attributed it to a test of his continual faith in Fate. Perhaps a lull before the storm . . .*
Renvyle: - Has been traveling on his own for days, thankful that the worst of the winter months are finishing their course. He hasn't seen many of his own species, just a few vagabonds here and there. Loneliness has been eating away at his being, but he continues to move with a fierce determination. The thought of his former pack spurs him to continue his journey. He sighs heavily and his paws carried him at an even gait. He has passed along the outskirts of many a territory and this one seems about the same as the last.-
Chantily - *she was irritated - not so much by the pack itself, which was large and running smothly for the most part - it was that most part that bothered her, and it was oe of those 'most parts' that she was out to deal with today, as reports had been lax in coming o her - they had been lax in getting to Fantasia and chantily had decided waiting was no longer an option - she was out to badger someone for a decent report. With a sour expression on her face she trotted towards the thorn wall, but it seemed she was not the only one with such a destination in mind for as she approached none other then Fantasia did she find walking the wall line. Slowing she schooled her expression into one less irate and cranky looking and bowed the proper greeting as she drew to a stop a few paces away "Grand Master Fantasia" She greeted him.
Fantasia: *turns his head to her with a slight nod* Good afternoon, Vivid Eyes. I can't imagine you have been taking this period of inactivity very well. *He could sense impatince behind that mask of maturity, a wry smile on his lips* Shall we walk? It might not be border patrol exactly, but action helps clear the head from muddlement.
Ren: -He was loathe to wander right into a stranger's territory and at first, he was not quite sure that he was. The smell of others was faint, but there, and he could no longer deny it as he came nearer the Barrier. The plants here seemed thicker than usual and thorns jutted every which way from the roses that grew thickly through these parts, although not a flower bloomed as of yet. His pace slowed as he neared his nose to one of these plants, sniffing delicately as he avoided the barbs gingerly. Yes, others were near here.-
Chantily - *Casting her gaze upwards for a few moments she looked back at him ith a wry grin on her laced face* "I suppose this could be counted as a good day - theres neither rain, nor blizzard nor snapping enemies to torment us at the moment" *her tone was light indicating it to be a joke and she fell into pace alongside him as they walked along* "I could clear the muddlement by batting a few rear ends into motion just as well" She offer in the same light tone, before scenting the air - this close to the wall the plants themselves tended to be cloying and hide scents from beyond, thankfully however it wasn't yet the season for flowers. Flowers she had a feeing would make the area all but cloying, pausing for a moment she scented again* "Do you smell that?"
Fantasia: *Can easily imagine her snapping at hinds to get them in gear and chuckles, though the smile quickly dies back into sobriety; he lowers his tone* I can. Hmm . . . Perhaps Fate has somethign planne today. *Ducking through a narrow hole in the barrier that allowed passages of only one wolf at a time, he follows the scent at a brisk pace; to the stranger, he would scent something vaguely wolfish, but mostly rosey even in the middle of winter*
Ren: -He contemplated moving on, unsure if this strange place would be where he would like to settle. How did the old saying go? Even roses had thorns? This place seemed to have both and, although these plants would be beautiful once spring time was upon them, this may not be "his place." It was just as likely that ingrates lurked here, as well as anywhere else. He clucked silently to himself as he lifted his nose again, searching for anything that might signal for him to stay or continue moving, though he had no idea what that sign may be. He turned tail and padded a few more paces along the thick vegetation, when the wind drifted in his favor and a stronger scent came to him. This was fresh and smelled much like flowers, despite the time of year... And there was the familiar scent of wolf beneath that.-
Chantily - *Part of her wanted to fuss at him for going first, who knew just what mght wait on the other side of that wall? but Fantasia was not one to lead his pack from the sidelines and while it might agitate her to let him trot off into possible danger all the time she was neither his mother nor his keeper, but relegated to merely provding back-up and following orders. which was fine - Alpha wolves do not become Alphas because they can't take care of themselves she reminded herself as she slipped through the hole behind him and trotted in his wake, still she would hate to be the one explaining to Terabithia what had happened should anything befall her brother. Huffing slightly at the mere thought she picked up her pace ears pricked and eyes scannng, A hint blue and bright green - brighter then any plants had a right to be flashed through the trees and she flicked an ear and motioned with her muzzle to bring Fantasia' attention to it,
Fantasia: *Gives a subtle nod upon her indication and turns them towards it, eventually spotting a dark figure against the half-hearted coloration. The traveller almost seemed expectantly standing there, the wind having carried their collective scents to him and giving him forewarning. Him staying there meant . . .* Do you have business here? You are close to The Order of the Rose lands, traveller.
Ren: -He waited patiently, the wind betraying those that came nearer to him. He hadn't decided exactly what he had intended to do once he came face to face with these strangers, the ones who called this land home, but he figured any interaction was better than no interaction, even if it didn't go smoothly. He longed for the company of others. As they approached, his tail drooped and his head lowered slightly. He feared asserting himself too much in territory that obviously did not belong to him, yet it was hard for him to completely forsake the usually proud look that his features often carried. "The Order of the Rose? I am afraid I have not heard of it." He risked a small glance at the male who had spoken, but did not dare make eye contact with the other. His gaze settled to the right, towards his shoulder. "I do not necessarily have business here... Unless you happen to have room for a wanderer like myself amongst your ranks."
Chantily - *Well she thought to herself as they came across the strangely colored male - not that she was anyone to talk about strange markings - and she noted the deference in which he treated Fantasia, at least he knows how to be respectful. That was more then she could say for other wander's she met but she studied him closely, he did not seem hostile but well looks could be decieving and so she remained alert - allowing Fantasia to deal with the conversational part of this meeting. It was his pack after all and she'd chime in only if he asked her opinion. If he did stay Chantily only hoped he would pull his weight, she didn't want to be nipping at his rear end in a month or so to hurry him along ...the thought nearly made her chuckle but she managed to hold it in, though a trace of amusement flickered through her eyes.
Fantasia: The Order is always interested in applicants, stranger. *watches his posture critically, looking for clues to the wolf's thoughts as he spoke* As many of our ranks are made of former wanderers. What is your name, and how could you assist should you enter our lands? The Order is a pack that admits many but does not as easily relinquish them upon giving the oath.
Ren: -Feels both pairs of eyes on himself, but maintains his posture and keeps himself still as he absorbs the words this particular wolf speaks. From his manner, Ren thinks it might be safe to think this one a leader, if not, one of high esteem and ranking. He struggled to keep his tail from wagging at the words "interested" and "applicants," which thankfully resided in the same sentence.- "I am called Renvyle and I have traveled far from the southern lands. I once served my pack as a Beta, but it has since crumbled, fallen to a neighboring pack that was much larger. They were a lawless bunch and many were killed at the refusal for joining. I wish to bring my skills as a fighter and as a hunter to a pack that is just."
Chantily - *upon hearing the others story, Chantly gave a soft huff - for it sounded quite close to her own ill fated former home and thier demis, though in her case it had not been anoter pack but mere stupidity that had brought her family down. No matter, the past was the past she reminded herself and she couldn't complain about the Current state of her perspective future. Her life was good with The Order. Perhaps this Renvyle would find t much the same. Casting one last appraising look at the male Chantily hazarded a few words. "I like him, seems sturdy and well mannered" And she liked the way he phrased things 'just' yes...just was good.
Fantasia: Hmm. *There was a ring of truth to his words that he did not think facitious, and thus he nodded* From one destiny to another, Fate has a way of repairing past damages. If you are as you say, Renvyle, then The Order needs wolves such as yourself to man it. If you are willing to commit to the work, I can place you as a lieutenant for now. Hard work earns higher ranks. *pauses, then chuckles a bit* Ah, forgive me, I forget myself. My name is Fantasia, one of the alphas. Chantily beside me is a Marshal whom helps oversee the pack's activity.
Renvyle: -He could not help to express himself with a few wags of his fluffy tail. He dared to lift his head slightly and a smile snuck into his usually solid features.- I thank you for this unique opportunity, then, Sir. You shall not regret this decision in the slightest. -He nodded thankfully first at Fantasia, then at Chantily-
Chantily - *Found herself returning the other nod with one of her own, she rather hoped this male would work out well with the pack, she had a good feeling about him in any case - or perhaps that was just lunch making itself known again - hard to tell sometimes she amused herself with the lame inner joke as Fantasia proceeded with the proper procedures for inducting a new member of the pack. Nothing she hadn't seen before and she could afford to let her mind wander a bit - as long as she seemed attentive. When they finished Chantily refocused on the group and took up the position of Rear guard as they headed back to the packlands. She still had those reports to dig up she reminded herself as they slipped through the hole in the thorn wall. She'd deal with them after escorting Fantasia and Renvyle back and trotted after her two companions on the other side with a slight shake of her head.*
