The wounds hadn't been terrible by Domo's standards. A nick in the neck, the shoulders, the lower chest, one near his eye, a weak spot in his ear, a bruise by his ribs - nothing too terrible. Painful, yes, but not life-threatening, though somewhat copious amounts of blood had poured from the one at his neck; ever vital a spot, a wolf knew. He'd have to be more careful from now on, and though wincing as he walked out of his den, the servant kept a careful eye about as he crept onward.

It was nothing to think of the guard's wounds - no, it was the princess's that was most pressing, even if she had recieved less. What if they became infected? Ears docked with some worry, Domovoi padded to Delusion's den, caught between hastening his steps and hesitating them.

What would she think of him now that she had seen that thing? Was his job in jeopardy? Thankfully Lemon Lime was gone for the moment (off who knows where), so Domovoi took the chance to visit her in private. Maybe he can cleanse his servile image once more if he apologized enough for his abysmal job at keeping her safe.

Delu had not suffered too badly at the lynx's paws - some wounds upon her shoulders and back from the beasts claws, wounds which pulled and ached if she lay the wrong way but she was pretty sure they would heal okay. As long as she kept them clean and allowed them to do so of course - which shouldn't be much of a problem, Delu was pretty fastidious when it came to keeping clean.

Still she had never really been hurt before and despite her brave words about taking on the unmentionable evil she was embarrassed to admit she didn't know how to and suppressed the whine that threatened to escape when she shifted position. How sad she thought to herself with a sigh - what type of royal sat about whining and complaining about a few measly wounds? Certainly no good ones - and yet here she sat in a pathetic heap feeling sorry for herself, doubting her resolve when she wasn't even the worst one injured! What a mess.

And that wasn't even the worst of it all - she had always known that someday the spies would find her families hiding spot, and now they had. The time for hiding as over but her siblings - and she had to admit - herself were not read for such a task. They would need help and Delu couldn't afford to keep waiting for that help to show up - though Domo was certainly a start.

Speaking of Domo, she sniffed the air - was that him approaching? She hadn't really noticed until he was quite close, too lost in her own thoughts - just another problem she would have to fix! This not paying attention to her surroundings was far to dangerous of a habit! "Domo?" She called out hesitantly and then realizing ho weak that made her sound Delu cleared her throat and stood, ignoring the way her wounds pulled to pad to the door and look for herself. It was indeed Domo - shouldn't he still be resting? "Shouldn't you be resting still?" She voiced this concern at his condition.

Domo's heart plummeted for a moment at how weak her first call was (had her condition worsened overnight?!), and he hastened his paws to her den, face twitching and teeth gritted at the stress placed on his wounds. "I'm here!" he called as he limped to the entrance to her den, bowing his head. "I-I rested enough these past few ays, m'lady, I'll be o-okay. But what about you? D'you need anything? Water? Food? More herbs?" The questions spilled out in his haste, wanting to much to please her again and regain status in her eyes.

Lemon Lime had punished him in secret for his near-failure. He couldn 't bear to commit another mistake again, and every step forward counted now. What plagued him more was doubting that friendship they had been beginning to form . . .

Delusion cast a scrutinizing gaze over Domo as he came into sight, took note of his limp and the wounds that were still visible in his dark fur. He looked a far site worse then she did and that only made Delu feel worse. Here she was feeling sorry for her own meager wounds when Domo - whom she was sure had saved her life suffered and still managed to be up and about. She huffed silently - she was certainly living up to the stereotypical 'weak princess' now wasn't she? Well not for much longer!

"No..no I'm fine" She told the once more Docile Domo - how different he was from the raging monster she'd seen before. But that 'monster' had saved her life and Delu hoped it would save her families honor too. "Will you come in and lay here with me? It is boring here alone with no one to talk to and nothing to do but think" She told him honestly, besides she had a few things she wanted to speak with him about - but they weren't things she wanted to say out in the open where anyone or thing might hear.

Go inside? The very idea was foreign to him, a slave entering royal quarters - it was almost a perversion of privacy . . . Yet he could see Delusion merely laying there hour after our while recovering with hardly anything to do, and for that he chided himself anew as he limped in. "Yes, m'lady." As if he could or would say no! He felt awkward once inside the den, his bulk suddenly becoming a burden with which he had to handle with the utmost delicacy so as not to force the princess over too much.

How close was too close? Domo kept a bent head as he nestled himself against onf of the walls, facing outward as if on guard duty. "So, um . . . what do you want to talk about, m'lady?" It was almost useless to ask, given the circumstance, but he hated silences when in such close proximity.

Delu shifted slightly as Domo entered - she noted he seemed a bit out of sorts upon doing so and made sure to give him plenty of room to settle - poor beast she thought was probably hurting terribly, but this way he would rest and she would have company. A good solution to two problems no? Delu thought so and she settled herself once he was done moving to the side and bit behind the black wolf who seemed to be staring outside as thought waiting for another attack. Well..there were spies everywhere she told herself and nodded slightly, before huffing out a breath, one forepaw poking at the den's earthen floor as she considered his question. She supposed it would be wise to start with the easiest thing she wished to say.

"I.." he started off her voice somewhat unsure as though she couldn't come up with the right words all of a sudden although she had been considering them for quite some time now "...wanted to thank you, for saving my life" She continued. "I think I shall make you a knight" She concluded in a firm tone, saving the life of royalty deserved nothing less right? And she would certainly need loyal Knights in her Kingdom. Besides how else was she going to thank him? Titles and land were suitable rewards..and well she didn't have any land. "Sir Domo has a nice ring to it I think"

It seemed Domovoi had his own prepared speech, for without warning he burst out after she spoke, "P-Please forgive me, your highness, I didn't want to use it but the lynx wouldn't go away and he was h-hurting you, so I had to ask Momma to coax him out, and it was violent I just know it, and I wish you didn't have to see that monster at work, the lynx just needed some sense put into him, only it was done really badly I know even if he was a spy, but I just wanted you safe, so please forgive me and I don't care if you're afraid of me now, I'll keep working for you if you just give me a second chance -"

. . . Oh. Wait. Finally he heard those notes of recognition and gratitude. Domo's mouth clamped shut, his dark face brightening in utter embarassment as he turned his head to face the kind wall. "I-It was nothing, m-m-m'lady," he stammered quietly. "B-But . . . why d'you want to m-make me a knight? I did t-terrible on my own. If Momma hadn't . . . then you'd . . ."' He gulped and took a breath. "M'lady, I shouldn't be put to high esteem like that, begging your pardon."

Delusion wasn't sure what to make of Domo's little speech an furrowed her brow slightly in confusion. He thought he'd done badly? But he'd chased the Lynx away and he'd saved her life! How was she supposed to forgive him for saving her life - and while Delu didn't like to think of herself as a bloodthirsty creature the spy as far as she as concerned got what was coming to him - and it probably would have been better in the long run if he'd been..well...killed. To late for that now. She was still trying to muddle through these thoughts when Domo suddenly stopped and turned towards the wall in embarrassment.

Oh. He'd thought she was mad at him, mad for letting her get hurt although it certainly hadn't been his fault - no that had been her own, and afraid of him for the violence he showed. Well at least now his little speech made sense and Delu could put trying to figure that out behind her for the moment. Ignoring the way it pulled at one of her should wounds Delu smacked a paw on the ground for emphasis "Nonsense! Why would I be afraid of the wolf who saved my life!" She proclaimed in a tone of voice that conveyed she clearly was not going to change her mind in thought. "You are my Knight because i want you to be, and you can't exactly argue it now can you?" She asked him in the same 'you won't be able to change my mind' tone - I mean really she was the Royalty here and if she wanted to bestow a title then she would darn well do so! "I was wounded because of my own foolishness, I must better my fighting skills for the future - I always knew there would be violence in the future, and it seems the future has arrived" She stated with a slight sigh.

So stubborn was his princess! Maybe that was a quality that ran in royal families, that stubborn streak that ran paw in paw with courage. Certainly Domovoi thought she had acted quite courageously (if not brashly) during the fight, though he also agreed that this was being put to better use right now than it had back there. "N-No, ma'm, no more arguing . . . But I must make it up to you somehow," Domo insisted. "I'll teach you how to fight. S-Sorta. But, m'lady, don't you . . . don't you think that it's no longer safe here?" He looked over his shoulder briefly as if expecting an intruder. "A spy knew exactly where you were going to be and took advantage! M-Maybe . . . Maybe you need to get to safer lands," he suggested.

Domo had no idea where the thought came from nor the initiative to announce, and he swallowed. Breaking up a family was never in his interests, but he was bound to Delusion and had to keep her interests at heart. "He only attacked you, so we can assume it's you they're after and n-not your family; otherwise they would've attacked already, right? Maybe . . . M-Maybe we should consider leaving."

Well Delu thought to herself as Domo spoke - that certainly solved one problem. She wasn't used to asking for help and had been a little bit unsure about how to go about doing so and not seem weak, she supposed she could have ordered Domo to teach her..but that seemed somewhat mean considering he'd just saved her life and all. Now that he'd offered however well - she didn't need to fret over that anymore. "That would be good I think" She told Domo in a pleased tone, she wondered briefly at the 'sorta' part - but surely that was just him being humble and self-depreciating like he always was. Delu blamed that on the cat.

She fidgeted as he continued, her paws scratching and poking at the dirt beneath them as a sign of her deep thoughts. In truth she'd already thought these things herself, she just hadn't been brave enough to come out and say it during their conversation yet. Another problem Domo seemed to have solved for her. "I was thinking much the same thing " She agreed after a few moments of silence "I can't wait any longer now that he has found me, he must not consider my family a threat since they have expressed no desire to move against him yet" She continued thinking out-loud "But I have and now he's found me...We will need to gather an army, and some help before we go to face him, I cannot have my future family and my siblings families living under his threat forever!"

"A-an army?" Domovoi stammered, staring at her in shock. How did . . . where . . . but . . . ! "L-Lady Delusion, please, let's reason this," he tried, affecting a placating tone. "He's gone now and won't come back; he looked so frightened after . . . after that. I d-doubt he'll be back. Where will we find an army, m'lady?" he asked, looking worried. "Please . . . If we must, let's s-simply get away from here. Involving others might be more dangerous, and if it's just us two, then we can get away faster." But oh, her pensive digging meant she was truly thinking about this idea!

. . . And he had left out Lemon Lime? He blinked, but then reasoned with himself. She deserves a safe home here and shouldn't journey so much anymore. Here in Agua Azul she will be safe.

"Well that one might not come back of course - you did scare him pretty badly" she mused, recalling briefly the terrified look on the Lynx's face as he leapt off the tree trunk and made his bid for freedom. shaking her head slightly she returned her thoughts to the present "But that won't be the only spy - and whose to say next time he sends more then just a spy...what about an assassin? or..or..a death squad...or something else terrible!" Ignoring her wounds she stood up and made to pace about the den - which considering the small size of the den with two wolves packed inside ment it as more of a half shuffle one way and then the other.

"would...would you have me run forever? Always be looking over my shoulder? How would I raise a family someday - I'm royalty its expected!!" She exclaimed in a dramatic wail "No..no e must find the help needed to defeat him!"

Immediately he tried to get up to stop her from pacing, though the small space and his bulk did not work out well as Delusion was already moving; Domovoi forced himself to the wall and pleaded, "M'lady, consider your wounds! Please don't reopen them. And . . . And I'd rather risk your pride than risk your safety, miss," he added in another strange moment of bravado, though the moment was short-lived as he looked away bashfully again for his gall. "If running meant always being a step ahead of the assassin, then I'd gladly keep up the pace. Lady Delusion, you can't raise a family if you know you aren't safe here."

Aagh, but the princess would run circles around this subject if he did not compromise soon. Domo had to think . . . "Can . . . How about this: we leave as soon as your wounds heal, but we'll find somewhere else to settle far away so that no-one gets endagered here. And then once there we can figure out what to do about the spy situation?" He didn't like the idea of making her travel so soon after recovery, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

Delusion huffed at Domo as he uncharacteristically stood up to her, but her wounds were pulling somewhat so she settled - its not like there was room to properly pace and make her point in any case, though she snorted at his suggestion that running was safer. That was a completely unacceptable future, and she just wouldn't stand for it. opening her mouth to argue with him further she was cut off a he started speaking again.

hmm...well that made a certain amount of sense she supposed, you couldn't raise an army on the run, no she would need to find a safe place to garner support and this safe place had been compromised. Laying back down she gave Domo a sulky look just to mak sure he knew she wasn't backing down completely here "I..suppose, that will work" she finally allowed "We should leave as soon as possible, before they send more spys..or worse" She told her darker colored companion seriously, though she wasn't sure exactly how she would go about telling her family about this. maybe she wouldn't...maybe she'd just steal away in the night. That might be safer.

Oh thank the heavens, she was agreeing! It was nice to be able to stand up for his opinion every once in a while, but it was tiring after a while. Or maybe that was just because he was conversing with the very stybborn princess? But nonetheless Domovoi heaved a sigh of relief and smiled for what it was worth at her. "Thank you, m'lady, for seeing sense," he said with a bow of his head, and then eased back onto his paws. How he wanted to stay and sleep, though! But it was such an improper thought - sharing a den with royalty? The implications! - that the servant chastised it away and wondered how it even got there. "Agreed, let's leave as soon as possible. I'll go inform the alphas and Mother now so that they don't think you were taken. In the meantime, please take care not to move too much so that those wounds heal proper."
