Chobi: Eun Mi had laid freshly picked flowers in the river as an offering to the god of water and goddess of the moon. She and her cubs had found a new home and as thanks, every day, Eun mi would pick fresh flowers and lay them in the river. They floated idlely letting the natural current take them further down its twisty way.
"That should do," She sighed. Her and her cubs now had a new home in a pride. It was a good thing too because five cubs on her own had been a little... to much to handle. In fact, orginally , the female had a total of seven. She'd let Mauja, the cubs father, take two of her girls though. It hadn't been an easy call but it was one she made so that they might have a better life.
The cheetah turned her back on the river and started back to her den. It was time to wake everyone up after all.
1/3 says (6:38 PM):
Okena was still sleeping soundly, nestled amongst his litter mates. In his dreams he watched his mother laying flowers in the river in offering as she did most mornings. To him there was nothing special about this dream and he'd read no special meanings within it. Even if his mother was down by the river as he dreamt it meant nothing. He knew her rituals, all the cubs did. He was mearly dreaming of what he already knew to be true.
As she turned back his little feet twitched, moving as his mother's did. When she reached the den he was the first to raise his head. Even before she called down.

The females ears perked. She hadn't said a word , but already Okena was up. None of the other cubs had stirred. Blinking, Eun mi slowly smiled and nodded Okena over to her.
It was rare she got to spend time with just one of her cubs after all. One on one bonding time was hard to share when you had five cubs that all needed your attention.
Slowly, the mother backed out of the den and took a seat.
1/3 says (6:48 PM):
He didn't look all too surprised to see her there. After all, she came back every morning around the same time. This morning he'd just happened to wake up when she was arriving home. Maybe she'd made some small noise, or her shadow had woke him, or it had been pure coincidence.
He carefully stepped over his siblings and made his way up into the sunlight. The moment he was close enough he rubbed up against her, purring softly.

Eun Mi wasted no time wrapping her paw around him and cleaning him. She was a neat freak by nature, so she of course kept her cubs as clean as she could get them. After a quick once over she smiled and let him go.
"Are you feeling alright today? I wanted to ask you if you'd like to help me gather breakfast." It seemed like a fun idea and a great chance to teach hunting to her cub. Have you ever tried to hunt with five cubs awake all at once? Yeah, hunting didn't happen usually when all five were awake.
1/3 says (7:01 PM):
His eyes grew wide, "Really, momma?" He beamed up at her.
He'd hardly had the chance to watch the older cheetahs hunt. From what little he'd seen he knew they ran with great speed to bring home dinner. As he agreed enthusiasicly to the trip he couldn't help but wonder if he was fast enough yet to help. Then again, maybe mom just intended to leave him in the grass to watch.

Eun mi was happy to see her son so excited.
"Of course, we all gotta learn some day. Todays yours," She smiled and licked his forhead, "Be sure to follow close okay?"
With that the momma cheetah got up and started off. She wasn't going to carry him. He was old enough now that he could follow after.
1/3 says (9:43 PM):
He followed closely, staying beneath her. He was so close that he threatened to trip her if he hesitated a moment on any step.
He bounced a bit as they reached the tall grass. "What are we hunting, momma? Bunnies, no, gazelle! Are we hunting gazelle?"

The cheetah nodded . "You have to be quiet son or you'll scare them away." She chuckled and licked his head.
"Follow what I do and you'll be of value to the pride," The female slunk low into the grass and seemingly hugged the ground. She then , slowly, worked her way through the grass keeping her eyes focused.
1/3 says (9:49 PM):
Okena gave her one sharp nod, looking more then a little proud as he followed her out into the feild.
The sun was bright on the horizon and he kept in her shadow, trying to block it out. He stayed focused, glancing at her every so often to make sure he was mimicing her as close as possible.

The female had her prey in sight. She grinned and turned to her cub. "You need to stay low to the ground and watch, you can not hunt yet little one." She returned her sights to the older gazelle up ahead. Yup that one was about to kick the bucket soon.
She could tell by the way the other gazelle grazed far away from this one. It was like this one knew death was breathing down its neck. A stroke of luck for a hungry cheetah family.
"Just watch," She started off creeping toward the thing. Didn't want to scare it yet.
1/3 says (9:59 PM):
He'd been focused , waiting to run in and help with the kill. When his mother told him to stay back though he looked up at her, and then nodded, mouth in an 'o' shape.
"K-momma," he replied quietly as he crawled into a nearby patch of grass. He was grateful. She'd gotten him this close after all. He'd never been so close to a live gazelle.
From here he could watch the kill. Maybe next time he could run with her.

The female wasted no time as soon as she was sure her son was safe. She bolted out of the grass, the other gazelles bolted together but the older one, the one she had her sights on, stayed put for a moment before going the other way.
It was as if it wanted to be chosen. Giving its body up for the others . The female leapt and bit into the things neck. A quick clean kill.
It was over in less then a minute. Eun mi carried the thing like the lifeless puppet it was toward her cub and dropped it.

He looked around for a moment, checking for other predators or opportunistic killers before he ran out to greet his mother.
"Momma!" he chirped. "I've never seen anyone run so fast!"
He tangled himself up in her legs, purring as he rubbed his head against her.

Eun mi could have face pawed right there. She laughed and rand to assist her son, taking the neck in her mouth and letting a great deal of it drag so that her son could help.
Eun mi didnt need words to tell her son what she was doing. She was sure hed figure it out.

He let go as she picked up the limp body and then grabbed ahold of another place closer to the ground.
He tugged and pulled with all his might but really he was too small to be much help at all. It was more likely that he made things harder for his mother as he made the body lurch and twist.
