Alrighty, as you can see, I'm working on this. Anyways, I have no skill with HTML, so compared to everyone else's Rider Weyrs, mine'll fail to compare to theirs. But, you're not here for all the prettiness, you're here to see the most interesting greenrider EVEH!

The Rules

Be respectful, it's not so hard.

Only post here if I give you permission.

If you have permission, don't post here screaming: OHMYGODHE'SGAY!

Yeah, it's basically all about respect, respect of my thread, respect of my characters, which in total adds up to respecting me.

(More to be posted as they are thought up.)

A'lis, of the Failures

Name: Aevlis

Honorific: A'lis

Age: Twenty-Three Turns

Rank: Wingrider

Sexuality: Homosexual

Appearance: He's a good sized-lad, around 5'7, and with enough fat upon him so that he doesn't look gawky. He's around 130-140 pounds, and still a bit shy about it. He knows he's not overweight, but he, at times, seems uncomfortable with his appearance. His body seems to lack the manliness he should've gained a few years ago, and has gentle curves very much like a woman's. His hands are small, but not with the delicate appearance. They appear soft, gentle, soothing, and lack the hardness they would've gained from working so much. They seem to be hands that take care of something with extreme caution, to relax an upset beast.

His hair falls down to his ears (after a long time of freaking out after he had most of it chopped off) in thick waves, never to be seen behind his ears for the thickness of it. It is of a dark auburn color, which he seems to be rather proud of. His eyes are a dark color, appearing black from a distance, but truly just a deep blue. He absolutely adores them, though he'll never admit that to anyone. He's just been told enough by his mother how pretty his eyes are to like them a lot. Oddly long, thick, eyelashes protect his eyes from the blaring sun during the time he spends outside with his lessons. His eyebrows are, to his relief, thick enough so he doesn't look entirely feminine, which he would hate. Barely visible upon his tanned cheeks are a few light red freckles, which can also be seen upon his shoulder if he were ever brave enough to remove his shirt in public.

Personality: A'lis has always been a quiet, soft-spoken boy, and ever since Impressing Isanth it hasn't gotten much better. He only seems to withdraw more, devoting his time to the only creature that matters to him, Isanth. He likes to spend his time alone with his Green, even when he's bathing her with the other dragonriders and she wants to talk. He'll quietly slink away and Isanth will follow simply because she adores her beloved. She doesn't know how much she really affects him, and so croons softly at him whenever he seems quiet, trying to encourage him. It doesn't work. The boy is seemingly forever withdrawn.

He's not as dumb as a wherry. In fact he's rather smart, but a bit mislead by Isanth. He'd do fine at his lessons if he learned that Isanth and him are a team, not Isanth as a leader, and him as a loyal follower. He hangs on her every word, does as she pleases, and it makes him look as if he is stupid. He doesn't see anything wrong with being completely devoted to his dragon, and that is what some people seem to want of him. His intelligence is simply masked by his devotion towards Isanth.

If there was ever one thing that he could dislike, it would be females. He was simply raised by too many of them, and the females that did raise him were more than a bit awkward. A'lis just isn't comfortable around them as he would be around a really handsome male, or even a male who has only some beauty. He doesn't hate females, he's just not very used to talking with them in normal conversation. He'll stick to the males, thank you.

Other than letting himself be controlled by a dragon, he is basically a general nice boy. He greets everyone (or anyone he dare wants to talk to) with a warm smile, and a few soft words of greeting and conversation. But, he was never one to talk excessively, and probably never will be. He's a listener, nodding his head and agreeing with everything (disagreeing causes arguement, which he doesn't like). He's soft-hearted, kind, caring, a gentle, intelligent. But, at the same time he's too withdrawn, not dominant enough, listening to everything his dragon says. A'lis just needs to find a balance.

History: Ah, the life of being weyrbred, knowing that you would have to live up to something you weren't so sure you would be able to. His father he knew nothing of, his mother a lower cavern woman, who seemed to desperately want her son to be a dragonrider. It wasn't too much pressure, since the young Aevlis was never around his mother enough for her to influence him. But, as a young child he had the sense to please his mother, the only person he really knew loved him.

He got his chance to please her soon enough.

At fourteen turns he was deemed worthy to stand upon the Hatching Sands at the next clutch. The Hatching begun in the evening, the sun barely sinking down beneath the hills. What remains clear to him beside Impressing was the heat of the sands. He has no idea why it had gotten to him so, but it had, and he was upset by it. Aevlis was fussing about the heat when a Green dragonet hatched, which he had taken no notice to.

If you would kindly stop worrying about the heat and pay attention to your Isanth, I would gladly inform you that you are mine, and that I am hungry.

The Impression had came as a shock to the boy, and he could barely keep himself from streaming out apologies for being a dimglow. Isanth shushed him as soon as she tried, and then insisted upon being fed. So, he fed her.

He was one of the younger Weyrlings, and one who didn't do too well. Isanth controlled him, and he refused to go against her wishes. On one occasion the Weyrlingmaster dragged him (with Isanth trailing after) to lessons because Isanth did not want to go, so A'lis did not want to. This showed his flaw. Isanth ruled, not A'lis, not them together. He failed at many lessons, taking Isanth's veiw of what had been said instead of his own, and messing everything up. Each lesson he participated in he had to repeat, several times, and he was led down the path of embarrassment when the dragonets from the next clutch were passing him in lessons. But, finally, they passed him, merely because they did not want to hold the boy back any longer and damage his ego further.

Tragedy in the form of a plague had struck Rias Weyr, and when the plague seemed to mysteriously settle into the background, refusing to move to the surface, his Weyrleaders found the perfect excuse to get rid of him. Why not send the most worthless dragonrider they have to Rias, claiming to assist the Weyr by bringing them a dragonrider. They shoved A'lis and Isanth, their problem, onto others to become their problem. Only time will tell when A'lis begins to show how much he's worth, and that's close to nothing.

A New Beginning! (Impression)

Everyone else woke to the calling of the dragons, the signal that the Hatching was to begun, but Aevlis who was naught fourteen turns slept to the tune of the dragons, as if it were a lullaby. In his dreams dragons soared and lept through the skies with ease. He wanted so much to fly with them, to be lifted from his cot and into the skies to join them in their dance. "Let me fly," he murmured in his sleep, tossing about in his cot as if frantic to join in their flight.

"It's quite impossible to fly..." It was a voice somewhat familiar with him... but all he wanted was to follow the dragons. He wanted to scream to them, tell them to take him with them. "Aevlis... come on now hun."

Hun? His mind thought drowsily, and his arms extended, trying to push the source of the voice away. But, his arms were stopped in mid action, and then abruptly tugged on. He yelled, or he thought he did as he fell against the hard floor.

"Now. Come. On. Hatching. Faranth!" The older boy yanked Aevlis to his feet, and the young red head fell against him. "No time for hugs and kisses, get dressed, or do I have to help you?" Aevlis peered up into eyes so familiar, and recognition hit him. There was an apologetic grin on his face, and he pushed away from his lover to undress and pull on his white robe. For once he didn't even mind that Fendal was in the room. He was usually so shy around the other boy, but now there were more pressing matters at hand.

"You do remember how to present yourself to the-"

"Yes, Fendal, I do. I promise," Aevlis cut in, fondly smiling at the other boy. Then, without another word, the pair were off, quickly catching up to the other Candidates. The Candidatemaster led the way for them, instructing them on where to go for the hundredth time. They were then on their own, marching onto the Hatching Sands as if this had happened twenty times in their life before.

It was only natural that Aevlis stood beside Fendal, and the other's amused laughter when Aevlis tried to straighten out his white candidate robe was only comforting. This was the way the Hatching went, Fendal comforting Aevlis when he failed to Impress and when he began to fret. A bronze would hatch, and would ignore the both of them, blues and browns and greens would follow but none chose either of them. It was worrying Aevlis, and the end of the Hatching was drawing near.

If you would kindly stop worrying about the heat and pay attention to your Isanth, I would gladly inform you that you are mine, and that I am hungry.

He hadn't even noticed the little green! The boy, shock in his eyes, looked down at the little dragonet at his feet who nudged him and begged to be fed, and immediately his heart melted. Feverently he apologized for taking so long, and his apologies continued on their way to the feeding bowls until Isanth asked him to stop and concentrate on feeding her.

He fed her until she seemed to be unable to eat anymore. The boy curiously glanced around at the others who had Impressed, and it suddenly hit him. "Fendal!" He nearly cried out, searching for his companion.

I am pretty sure my name is Isanth, not Fendal. Isanth said casually, whirling blue eyes of content locked upon his own eyes. "Oh, yes, your name is Isanth... I was just..." His eyes searched everywhere, and finally he found his companion... without a dragon. Fendal smiled at him reassuringly, and Aevlis merely stared on in shock. Fendal hadn't Impressed... how was that possible? Fendal was almost everything to him (Isanth had now taken the spot)! Fendal was strong, Fendal was kind, Fendal was almost perfect! Why had the dragons refused him.

Because, if you must know, we had others, as I found you. I would never have chosen him over you. I love you.

The One-and-Only Isanth!

User Image

Name: Isanth

Age: Seven Turns

Personality: Isanth is not your stereotypical green. Of course, ther is green in her and that provokes her to do things in character. One such case is that she is a flirter, and a very skilled flirter. She'll take any male dragon in the area and flirt to them until she is positive that they will join in on her flight when she does rise. Isanth wants the most competitors for when she rises, if only to prove to all the golds that she is more popular, more gorgeous, more perfect.

Besides the sense of 'I get what I want, when I want it,' Isanth is a rather mellow dragon. She'd rather lounge out in the sun all day then do her drills or go to lessons. Often that has gotten her and A'lis in trouble, since A'lis seems to not have the heart to displease his dragon. Isanth is, in some ways, considered lazy, but she just likes to relax and sunbathe more than others, and she feels there is nothing wrong with that.
While she's relaxing, on another note, she doesn't mind chatting. Not flirting, chatting. In fact, she rather likes talking to dragons of her own age and learning about how their day was, and how their bonded was. She just likes to know that every dragon likes her insteads of hating her, and so if she can get into a conversation with them, she believes that they can't hate her then if they're talking to her. Besides, pleasant chatter helps pass time, and makes relaxing highly enjoyable.
