She didn't mean to stare.

It had been a month or so since she had joined the ranks of Meadowview High School, and the shy little former Barren Pines girl had yet to really adjust to buzz of her new school. It was lunch time, and Yvette was pecking away like a bird at her cucumber sandwich. She really needed to make more friends and actually make an effort to see them during lunch time (where was Topher when you needed him?). Otherwise, she would be doomed to eating lunch by herself for the rest of eternity! Obviously, her lack of company was her own fault, or at least, that was how it worked out in Yvette's head.

Shyly, her deep purple eyes began to stray from the area immediately in front of her and wander the cafeteria. That was how this whole ordeal began! It was through this process of looking around while she ate that she saw it. A beautiful slice of apple pie in some lucky girl's lunch. Of course, the dark haired girl didn't quite get a good look at the owner of that pie slice, since the moment she saw the pie, her eyes got stuck.

Why did sweets have to look so delicious? If it wasn't for that cucumber sandwich in her mouth, she might have started drooling right then and there.
