Eiichiro Oda, I seriously hate you now. Why? WHY?! crying crying emo emo gonk gonk
I mean, everything was going to be fine! They'd gotten him out the handcuffs, they were running away...why this? Why now? After everything Luffy did to save him...this. What an absolute kick in the nuts! Not just for Luffy, but for everyone. Dammit!
Although now I've calmed down slightly, I see the positive to this. Stories are always driven by the characters, and sometimes their fates are determined even before you write them. You don't write the stories, the characters do. So if it's their time, it's their time, and you can't change that. And Luffy...Luffy will heal from this. Not now, not for a long time...hell, maybe he'll never really get over it. But he'll get there. He's been hurt a lot by this, and he'll never be the same person again. But he'll still be Luffy, and he'll still become Pirate King. In fact, he's going to be even more motivated than before. So every cloud really does have a silver lining...
Having said that, I've changed my avitar to properly reflect the fact that I'm now depressed as hell. God rest you, Ace.

I know this for Luffy's development but Ace was too great of a character! It's going to make me sad that I have to be reminded that he isn't there anymore! gonk I'll probably hate Oda for this. How about making a memorial thread?

*wailing* OH ITS NOT FAIRRRR!! DX Ace was the second coolest character in the whole damn series and now he's...he's... ashes! Ashes to ashes and dust to dust, as they say....WAAAAAHHHH!!!!

Ace was my favorite character! Why did he have to die!? when he was dying, i was listening to this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Zv5CB45v5si thought it fit PEFECTLY, but thats not my point. my point is.........I hope the guy that killed him is NOT prepared for the whopping of his life when Luffy gets EXTREMELY angry. I HATE SAKASUKI! I HATE THAT ******** b*****d OF A b***h FOR KILLING HIM! I HOPE HE GOES STRAIGHT TO HELL!

Ventus-Roxas Ace was my favorite character! Why did he have to die!? when he was dying, i was listening to this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Zv5CB45v5si thought it fit PEFECTLY, but thats not my point. my point is.........I hope the guy that killed him is NOT prepared for the whopping of his life when Luffy gets EXTREMELY angry. I HATE SAKASUKI! I HATE THAT ******** b*****d OF A b***h FOR KILLING HIM! I HOPE HE GOES STRAIGHT TO HELL! Pretty song! It is appropriate. I was listening to Repo! at the time, which might not have been the best thing. "I hope he goes straight to hell"? Oh no, that won't do. You saw Luffy's face; he's not going directly to hell. Luffy is going to drag him there...very...slowly. And he's going to hate every moment of it.

If he was that much of an arsehole, he wouldn't have made them in the first place. And if you look on deviantart.com, there are now too many tribute pieces to count. Seriously. And I'm kind of afraid of how Luffy's going to develop from this. I mean, how else is he going ot be aside from shattered and cynical? I don't want Luffy to change who he is fundamentally...

Apparently, word of god claims that the reason Luffy never actually kills the bad guys is because he thinks it's more fitting and cruel to let them live with their dreams completely shattered, so he's intentionally letting them live empty lives, which, depending on your viewpoint, could be worse than death. However, this time, I really don't think that letting this guy live is really going to cut the mustard. I think Luffy's going to actually try and kill him...in the most torturous way possible, going by his previous MO of making the punishment fit the crime. Possibly. Hopefully, he might just try and beat the tar out of him. I don't actually want him to kill Akainu (whose name, coincidentally, means "Red Dog") as that would, in a sense, make him as bad as they are. It would change Luffy too much, and I don't want that.

You have a point there. though on the other hand, it'll be Luffy who'll kiss his a** BADLY and then someone else will try and kill him. Luffy may not be the one killing him. It may be Jinbeiwho will kill Akainu
