It had just finished snowing, and the white fluff outside the mansion was smooth and untouched. But with a gleeful cry, it became apparent that it wouldn't stay that way for long.
Aurelia had yet to learn to walk, fully, but she was certainly making an attempt at it now. Every step or two she'd fall down, crawl for a bit, then stand up and try again - all in an attempt to reach that expanse of snow. Aletea was leaning against a tree, watching the little girl with a grin on her face; Lia didn't want any help, and was certainly enjoying herself.
Another squeal of joy was heard upon Lia landing in the snow, as she began to scoop at it with her hands.
Sjajan had never seen snow until this very morning, and had simply run out of the house in her overalls, minus shirt and shoes. The toddler didn't seem to mind the cold. Sprinting for the mansion, slingshot sticking out of a back pocket, she hoped that other kids would be about, afterall, it would be no fun doing this by herself!
"WHOOOOOOOOO!"
The blonde jumped into a large snowbank, landing spread-eagle on her face, and lifting her head from the imprint only to spot, and hear, Aurelia.
"... Lia?"
Her voice was quiet, contemplative. She hadn't seen the other little girl since she was a baby!
"LIA!"
Aurelia looked up from her delighting in the snow, to see a familiar face. A familiar face she happened to be fond of, and hadn't seen for a while. Abruptly, snow went flying.
"JANI!"
The little corn girl attempted to run over to her, though with her unskilled walking she did more crawling then running. However, it was very fast crawling, and upon reaching the older girl, she stood up to tackle her. Though admittedly, it was more like falling on then tackling...but that didn't really matter.
And then she anounced, proudly, "I tahk now!"
OMGSNOWWASSOCOOL!
Well, that was the thought that flickered as if on repeat through Flitch's head as the Sin' dashed happily down the street, clad mostly in clothing appropriate for this sort of weather. All he lacked were gloves, and that was only because Anvion hadn't found any that fit over his hands properly as of yet. He certainly didn't seem to mind that, even IF his hands got a little cold. He could go swimming in a hot bath afterwards! That was always cool.
Upon reaching the mansion Flitch slowed, panting heavily. Running through the snow in heavy clothes was HARD! However, such thoughts of merely catching his breath dissipated as fast as the mist escaping from his mouth as he recognized two other figures in the snow nearby- Jani and Aurelia!
"Heeey!" he called, jogging over and waving. "Aurelia! Jani!"
Jani grinned and hugged the smaller girl tightly, before rolling her over in a playful wrestling type of fashion. Still, she was careful not to hurt her. Jan never hurt her friends. Hearing another voice, she paused and looked around, face brightening at the sight of blue hair. She only knew one person with blue hair... Flitch!
"ALLO!"
Waving with one hand, the girl's tan bare arm was easily visible against the snow and she sat up, shaking her head quickly to get rid of the snow and holding Aurelia in her lap affectionately.
"Fishie!"
It seemed that Lia was content to stick with giving Flitch that nickname, and she waved frantically at the blue haired boy. The little girl was beaming happily - Jani, and now Fishie; the makings of a perfect day, in her baby mind. And then after she stopped waving, and impish gleam apeared in her eyes. And then with a whisper to Jani, she suggested a little game...
"Throw a snowbah at Fishie!"
Of course, it wasn't quite as quiet as she intended, what with the excitement in her tone. But she hoped it was quiet enough that Flitch didn't hear...and she would have thrown it herself, but she wasn't very good at throwing just yet; she was content to orchestrate things if she couldn't participate.
"I heard that!" Flich responded, playfully sticking a tongue out at Aurelia. "And you'll never hit me!"
He giggled, flopping down into a sitting position beside the girls, aqua eyes gazing out over the snow. So pretty...! But the call to play in it while it lasted overcame the blue-haired Sin's esire to sit and admire it. They could do SO MUCH with it! Like... build a snowman! Or an igloo. Or at least a snow fort. It needed something.
"Hey... wanna build a snowman..?" he asked curiously, eyeing the two girls. "Or forts? then we can have a proper snowball fight."
Sjajan didn't hesitate. Once Flitch got close enough, she threw a large handful of snow in his face after shifting Aurelia off her lap and leapt on the older kid. She, unlike her younger friend, had frighteningly acurate aim. She had since she was a baby.
"Yah! For's!"
Lia began to giggle after Sjajan threw the snowball at Flitch, especially after the comment he made. After several long fits of giggles, she finally calmed down enough to answer Flitche's question.
"Snowman!" And then the little girl paused, seeming to debating over the choices, "...fort..."
And upon beginning to fiddle with her leaves, it was obvious that she wasn't quite sure which to do. Both sounded fun to her, and she wanted to do them both! But you can't do two things at once, as much as she would love that. So Lia continued to twist her leaves, her forehead furrowed, as she considered the choices.
For any decision to be made in the next century, one of the older two would have to make it: Lia was too busy thinking them both over.
Flitch squeaked as the snowball hit him on the shoulder, then tossed one of his own playfully at Jani. He didn't really aim to hit, so it naturally soared far from its target. Oh well. Flitch didn't much care, anyways.
"We could do both," he suggested. "We can build a snowman first, then a fort. Or the opposite way around. We got more than enough snow around to do both..."
"Noman 'irst. We'll be too 'ired after th' fight."
Jani nodded wisely, having made that mistake before with mudwars and touched one of Aurelia's leaves gently. She loved the other girl's hair. In fact, she loved most of her friends' hair. Hers was so boring. Why couldn't it be blue like Flitch or Ancelin's? Or green like Lia and Lore's? Plus, it was getting really long.
Planting a hand palm down in the snow, then removing it to look at the print she grinned at her friends and looked around.
"Ware tah build?"
Aurelia eagerly gazed around the yard, before pointing to the snow beneath a large oak tree. "Tere!"
In her opinion, it was the perfect spot; the tree would protect it from any further snowball, and maybe it would be out of the sun and not melt as quickly...though she didn't consider the possibility of falling branches or piles of snow being dumped. She was only a baby, afterall.
She directed a happy grin up at Jani after the older girl touched her leaves - one thing she was learning she liked, was people petting them. It felt nice. And in the next moment, she rolled off of Sjajans lap and began towards the tree.
