Personality: She seems withdrawn from other people, and doesn't like meeting strangers. Sneak up on her and you might find yourself struggling for air. You have to really prove yourself to earn her trust, and even then don't expect much. If she does call you a friend she is the kind of person who is a good listener, but doesn't know how to interact with others.

Detailed Biography: The truth behind Maiko is that she is no stranger to betrayal. When she was a child her family has always been running, since Maiko was the result of an affair. They seeked refuge in with her mother's father, and that was where she grew up, in the company of her grandfather, her mother, and her older brother.
As Maiko grew up she learned how to stay hidden and to move quickly and quietly. Her grandfather taught her a bit of Judo, teaching her how to subdue enemies larger than her and the use of strangleholds. Maiko was a eager learner and she learned these techniques quickly. Her mother on the other hand taught her the uses of razor wire and how to set traps against enemies.
One night Maiko awoke to see their house was set on fire. Maiko ran toward the entrance to see if everyone was out, but she was greeted with the sight of both her grandfather and her mother dead. She looked up, just in time to see the kunais thrown at her face and arms. She looked outside and saw an enemy along with her brother. Maiko didn't know what was going on, but when her brother grabbed a kunai and stepped inside the burning house, Maiko feared the worst. When he thought he had her trap he told her that he made a deal with her mother's enemy. The location of where they were in exchange for his life. Maiko was so blinded by rage that she rushed at him, earning a wound from her lower lip down her neck. She used the holds that her grandfather taught her and killed her brother.
She managed to get out of the house, running and hiding while she was still injured. Somehow she managed to find the entrance of the Hidden Leaf Village and begged for sanctuary. She's been living in the village by herself ever since.
