So. Things lately were... looking up, he figured. Not that it had gotten any easier to get out of Hillworth. He still tended to try and stick close to there, to make it easier to get back before someone might happen to check his room or something, though he expected one of these days he was going to land neck deep in a Gunn-detention for sneaking out...

It was kind of worth it though, he'd gotten to meet up with Bellatrix, which put him a leg up on doing the Senshi routine alone when they hooked up, and he was getting good at memorizing the routes, so if he -really- wanted, it might be a little easier to sneak out and see Tallulah too. Man...if she had -any- idea that he was the Senshi she'd caught on video that night, she'd have flayed him alive.

That was an unpleasant, distracting thought, and he stopped in the shadows of a large tree to put a hand to his head and sigh. Blowing up the car with the slime monster had been bad enough... but he still remembered the Blue haired girls scream when she'd been hit by 'The Claws'.

"Batman never had these kind of moral dilemmas." he grumbled to himself, distracted from his surroundings, as he chastised himself for feeling guilty over attacking people that were, as far as he knew, out to kill people for who knew what end.

Wolframite’s life wasn’t going exactly how he had planned, and he wasn’t in the mood to entertain the idea of things turning out better. As far as things were going, he managed to get trained, went on some patrols, and then got beaten and humiliated by two senshi. For a while he concentrated on just recovering enough to look human again, letting his broken nose heal up and the swelling to go down, before he even thought of going on patrol again. As of now, the Lieutenant convinced himself that he’d stick to the park for a bit and when he felt more able (and less sore), he’d go back and try out the city again.

The park gave him a time to relax and just practice his jumping, but it really was just to say he was patrolling when he really just wanted to avoid any senshi encounters for the time being. Reaching up, he touched the bandage on his cheek where Libra’s scales sliced it and then his nose. Zodiac Senshi. He really wanted to know what that meant, but not by encountering another. If he had to meet another Zodiac, he wanted to meet Libra and smash her face in the post office flagpole. Her and Europa. He dedicated those names to memory and entrained the hours of his patrol thinking what he’d do to them, breaking twigs from branches as if they were their limbs.

It was thinking that the park was safe that caused him to frown, standing above and looking down at what he was debating was a senshi or not. The kid looked like a boy, and every senshi he met had been a girl. Still, how could you explain the outfit? It wasn’t similar to the Negaverse, but it wasn’t really too senshi-ish either. It almost looked like a different version of the Meadowview Uniform. How else did you explain shorts in winter?

Stepping over to the next branch for a closer look, he peered down and couldn’t help but smile. “Will you look at that? They make senshi guys too! I thought it was an all girls club!” He said this loud enough to catch the boy's attention, and if he was attacked, he was ready to leap. He wasn't about to have that happen to him again.

His senshi uniform was geeky enough without getting razzed for it. ((Shorts? Really? He'd have tried to convince his father to send him to Meadowview if he'd wanted to wear shorts.... instead of putting up with Hillworth for the privilege of pants and 'reform'. Blah blah blah behavior issues whatever.

His gaze shot straight up, and his expression creased into a breif scowl, before relaxing into a cocky, smug grin.

"Hey, some clubs are just more exclusive than others. Aren't you out past your bedtime, Fauntleroy?"

He let all his aggravation and frustration dilute into the sarcasm he poured out liberally in his tone of voice, sizing up the kid in the tree. Or it looked like a kid. It was hard to tell from the angle but he seemed short, which, combined with the girlish face, made him look considerably younger. Being in the tree, and -not- running screaming from a Senshi... even if people were becoming more sympathetic again... that probably made him Negaverse?

If they were they were robbing cradles, by Jaimie's point of view, with no idea he and the boy were the same age.

"Seriously... if you're -actually- working for who I think you're working for, they must be pretty damn desperate."

His expression soured quickly and he stood straighter on the branch, going from just looking at the senshi male to really taking him in. Blonde hair and blue eyes, the boy was probably a real heartthrob with the ladies, or maybe just the senshi. The attitude of his at least didn’t make him lumbering idiot, but it didn’t mean he was smart. He didn’t look too old, not enough to be saying he should be home in bed.

“Exclusive? It looks to me that they let anyone in. You find more of you guys in alleyways than cats these days, lion boy.” He made a point to look at the senshi’s tie which sported a golden, lion head that reminded him of a door knocker. If going by what Serandite had said, there seemed to be senshi everywhere, and when he could just happen on more of them than Negaverse, then he started to feel there was a real problem with the ratio. Just how many senshi were there, and how many were on his team? He hoped they were right about even. The thought of a duo coming at him again or maybe even a group of senshi wasn’t something he wanted to experience.

But one on one, he could do that.

Leaping off the branch, he landed down a few feet before the senshi, rising up as he twirled one end of the jump rope in his hand. Taking some time off from fighting to heal left him time to concentrate on jumping and playing around with his weapon. If the senshi side had powers, he was going to use whatever he could to fight them back.

“So how about we get this show on the road? Hmm?” His tone was cocky despite the fact that, now on ground level, he was much shorter than the other boy.

The grin on Jaimie's face grew wider, and both more predatory and more amused.
"Oh sure, this should be quick anyway." He quipped, though he was hoping the boy would take the bluff and bolt. "Last one of you guys I ran into had a freaking Squeaky hammer for a weapon. I guess you didn't get any better budget since then!"

Squeaky hammer... jump rope... honestly, who the frig was outfitting these poor sods?

"Claws of the Lion!" He barely waited for his last sentence to register before launching an attack.

((I think this is what you mentioned doing before. Is there a number for a miss, or just hits?))

It was hard to defend his weapon. Even he agreed that having to defend yourself with a jump rope when he’d met other senshi that could create impossible attacks, it made it hard to think of himself as having the upper hand. Regardless, he kept his weapon because being without it made him feel defenseless. Whatever reason he started out with it, he felt that it would eventually prove to be of some use in the future. It was already good at tying people up with, and he’d been fumbling about with learning different knots in his limited free time.

“You won’t be so cocky when I choke you with it.” Which he was picturing rather vividly in his mind.

Ever since Europa and Libra, Wolframite had been keeping his ears open for senshi attacks. It seemed yelling it was the only way they could attack, which certainly helped to predict when they were coming, but a full blast of fire certainly helped too. Kicking out, he jumped to avoid the attack, but felt a wave of heat between his legs tearing at his boots. The little bows of his boots went ablaze, turning to ash, and long marks sliced the soft leather of his boots and into his skin.

Landing back down was painful, and he dropped to one knee as blood dripped out of his boots. A heavy smell of charred leather and ash rolled up as small wisps of smoke rolled off his shoes. His shoulders shook as he clenched his teeth tight, a low growl eliminating from the back of his throat as he tried to hold back a scream.

Weak-kneed, he stood back up, not going to be stationary for another attack. The senshi made a huge mistake in damaging his legs. HUGE. “That HURT!” He shouted, kicking off and lifting the rope over his shoulder and throwing it down, sending the hard, wooden handle down on him.

"Sorry, next time I'll bring little bottles of aloe to... OW!!!!!!!" This side of gym class, it was easy to forget how much it HURT to get hit in the head with the handle of a jump rope, and he really didn't enjoy the reminder, sure that he was going to have an very noticeable bruise, if not a black-eye. If he was lucky, that was it, but it was going to be a b***h to explain... especially if it was a concussion and not just a goose egg.
"You ... JACKASS!!!" He cursed, clamping one hand over the bruise, and making an angry grab for the rope. "You gotta keep it to choke me with it you little punk!!"
PostPosted: Wed Feb 10, 2010 10:14 am

This wasn’t turning out exactly as he predicted, but he let out a quick “HA!” when the handle smacked right into the senshi’s, little smug face. With any luck, it would discolor and swell up to the size of a softball. Maybe even swell his one eye shut and make him go blind for a while. Served him right for tearing his legs to all hell. Even now, they still felt as if they were on fire. The cold winter air felt wonderful, but he’d rather jump in a pile of snow at this point.

Not yet satisfied, Wolframite yanked back on the end of his rope, only to have it tug back. “Let go, you p***k!” He shoved hard, pushing off with his legs. While he didn’t have upper body strength, he more than made up for it in his legs. The other senshi was holding on to his rope, and it was driving him insane. “Give it!” He started to pull, stepping back slowly to try and retrieve his weapon back.

Regulus, pride and outrage sparked at being the one to actually get hurt for a change, instead dropped his other hand to join the first on 'his' end of the rope.
"Are you KIDDING?" he demanded. His tone of voice was almost as hot as the blades he'd already attacked with once. "Like I'd give it the hell back after you smacked me in the head with it!" He gave a good hard yank, trying to dig in his heels. "Dude, I can't believe I actually felt sorry for one of you little bastards!" He was of course referring to Linarite, not Wolframite, though that was probably unclear.

Later he'd probably be in stitches laughing at the image of a fopishly dressed little boy in short pants and a lacy bow saying "p***k"... but right now he was just pissed off.

The senshi wasn’t the only one who was feeling furious. A hard yank from the other end as the lieutenant pulled, trying to free his weapon. There was no way he was going to let some senshi take his weapon from him AGAIN. It was his, he’d be damn if he was just going to let anyone take it. Before, he might have just not bothered, but the jump rope had hit the senshi and proved to be an effective tool. Now he wanted it, not only because it could deliver some damage, but on the principle that it – was – HIS!

“I’m going to do more than smack you in the head with it if you don’t! I’ll..” He pulled again, trying to yank it free. “…strangle you to death with it.” Every moment in the senshi’s company was making this a better option. Anyone passing by might think the two dress-up boys were playing some bizarre game of tug-o-war, not trying to beat the living daylights out of each other.

"Before or after I shove the handles up your friggin NOSE!" Regulus snarled back, stubbornly clutching at the rope, and trying to gain ground at risk of rope burn. Little punk-a** was stronger than he looked, but since he'd seen Negaversers jump from rooftops without harm, and done it himself... he really shouldn't be surprised by that. "And then I'm going to set it on fire while it's in there!!" He added, and was somewhat surprised at his own anger, though surprise hardly made him back down any.

The rope broke free with a final tug causing him to stumble back and regain his footing. A wide grin flashed on his features as he looked at the rope in his hands before clenching his gripe over it once more and glaring up with sinister glee at the senshi. “You were saying?” The return on his own weapon fueled him even more to make this his victory.

"I'm going to stomp you into the ground like the annoying little flame you are." This time around, he was still ready for another attack from the senshi, not sure if it would come again, but not taking chances. Sidestepping, he was waiting for an opening. He’d show Simba-senshi what his low-budget weapon and it’s owner could do.

"Something about setting s**t on fire, Skippy..." Regulus reminded him, though his hands pretty much felt as though they already were, after having the jump rope yanked out of them. "CLAWS OF THE LION!"

The tone of voice made it sound like a good thing that volume had nothing to do with the strength of his attack, though he was fairly intent on trying not to get clocked with a jump rope again, and strangled? Forget it.

The black eye was going to be hard enough to explain, if anyone actually asked for details. Not that fights didn't happen around Hillworth... but he didn't tend to be in them. Encourage them... sure. Participate... not so much.

((Below 5 is a Dodge. Above 5 is a Hit.))

This guy wasn't even phased, and he continued with the same annoying attitude. At least he could give credit for the senshi's endurance and persistence, but that wasn't going to win him any favors after all that smart talk he was getting. They were at a understanding, neither one was going to let the other just get off easy. Another shout, another attack, and Wolframite was up and away, jumping away and to the side.

It was a near miss. A VERY near miss, and he felt the hiss of fire pass his sides just as he landed farther back, his breath sucked away from the rolling blades of fire that passed. "Not bad. You're better then the others I've met." Much better. If that attack had hit, he'd been out for the count, and torn up pretty bad afterwards. He also didn't mess around with foolish antics. This was just about fighting, and he could respect something that simple.

Catching his breath, he regarded the senshi as someone who meant business. Was he a rookie? How long was he doing this? Was he one of the Zodiacs like Libra, and most importantly, how long could this guy last?

"Bit late for introductions, maybe, but the name's Wolframite. Can I venture a guess and say you're Leo?" The lion made sense, especially after meeting a Zodiac. Did they all have names after consolations, but then there was that Europa girl?
