A large cloud cover ached, full with rain and threatened the already damp alpha and daughter travelers as they wandered on their way home. His eye's were heavy and mind a little bit disheveled, he got focused on the woods around them. He knew quite well that he was already on his home territory so he could relax a bit more, his scent hadn't changed much beyond some odors that stuck to him from the 'outside'. He eye'd his surroundings with the disheveled glances he gave everything else but, with these glances pride started to seep back in and even with his current mess of fur and exhausted appearance he could feel eth alpha shine through in him once more.
He sighed a heavy sigh and walked on harder finally hearing a grunt from his daughter who was ten times more disheveled looking, to the point where he was sure he'd get a bark full from his darling mate Chivosi. His heart ached at they thought of her. His trip had been so sudden that he coudl barely say goodbye. He felt torn up but, stopped thinking about it in fear he'd cry. His thoughts passed and finally Tempest spoke up.

"Are we home yet?" She whined, her voice was a mix of deep and soft. She had softened up a bit on the roads but, only to her Father, she was a hardy wolf deep down but, he found that curiosity always got the better of her. She was at his side keeping a good pace and she knew he was keeping with her not the other way around.

Chiv sighed as she stared down into the stream, the recent rains had engorged the steam, turning it from a placid sweep little brooke to a raging torrent Chivosi had banned her pups from nearing until it settled, and by the look of the sky that wasn't going to be anytime soon. She was not overly fond of the water - it was nice enough sure but she didn't love it the way Mene did, perhaps that was why she often found herself starring into its depths after he had left. It reminded her of him.
Her ears flicked - she was just torturing herself doing this she knew, Mene had been gone a long time there was no telling what might have happened to him and Tempest by now, she didn't even know if he would come back. Breathing in a deep sigh at this thought she closed her eyes - she could almost, almost smell him on the water laden air...it was so real, she stood turning about to scent the air better. It was too real to be a dream and yet thats hat it had to be...
Without further thought Chiv lept away from teh stream and sped through the forest, following the scent she barely believed was there. A ghost trail that might...just might lead her to the one who would make her whole again.

Aleu had followed her mother silently to the stream that ran through the packs territory. It wasn't the first time that her mother had came out here and stared out at the water. Aleu may be young but she knew why Chiv came here. Sure at this moment the small stream was swollen with extra water so she was likely checking to make sure no one was getting to close. But underneath that current reason it was obvious that Chiv was missing Mene. Aleu missed her father too and her sister as well. It had been a long time since she had seen either of them.
Just as Aleu was about to come out of the bushes and talk to her mother Chiv turned and raced off into the forest. Not wanting to be left behind Aleu took off after her mother, her short legs struggling to keep up with the much larger wolf. Determination would keep her from giving up or slowing down. Whatever had caused her mother to run like that was hopefully not dangerous. If it turned out to be, well then Aleu would hide when the time came. But for now her eyes were glued to her mothers back as it slowly got further and further away.

Menelaus was about ready to break, he was in pack territory and knew now that his trusted side kick of a daughter was safe. He stopped his already slowing walk and collapsed in a sickly heap. He could feel his body temperature rise and mind drip into a little pool of insanity, his ability to scent the air was thrown into a bed ridden state. He was finished his travels for another day. Rain began pooling around him and thunder struck over head startling his daughter. He grabbed her shoulder lightly and pulled her closer to him with only a little whine.
The sky was becoming angry! Dad was on the ground again, what was wrong? Tempest grew slightly frightened, her Father's eye's had become noticeably hazy and couldn't seem to find one thing to look at, only many. She would glance about following their trail and finding nothing, she often wondered if he was really looking at anything more then the air around them. She missed her Mother and for the trillionth time fell into a heap of silent tears next to her beloved parent, but she knew they were home and the tears lasted only half as long before she fell into a heavy slumber, Father following suit once he knew she had fallen asleep.

Chivosi burst through the trees, somewhere in the back of her mind she was aware that Aleu followed her, but the pup knew the pack lands and Chiv was sure she would not get lost, She wasn't all that far behind in any case.
Aleu getting lost however seemed to be the least of her worries when her eyes settled upon the scene before her. Menelaus and Tempest lay upon the ground and neither of them looked to be in good shape. Padding forward she sniffed at the two wolves "Mene?, Tempest?"

Aleu did a pretty good job keeping up with her mother as she dashed through the forest. The sky above was getting angrier by the second. Aleu didn't mind storms, but this one looked like it might turn out to be pretty bad. When she finally caught up to her mother when Chiv disappeared in the trees she was shocked at what she saw. There was her father and sister laying on the ground. They didn't look that good. "Daddy?" She said a bit hesitantly, keeping her distance as her mother checked on them. "Mommy are they gonna be okay?" She had taken another step close but was too afraid to get too close.

Menelaus heard the voice through what seemed to be a drunken state. His world was a blur that kept bubbling up with new images again and again. He could now hear light whimpers from his daughter laying next to him and he tugged her close. Before him stood a grand brown blob, with a voice so sweet, but hesitant and almost frightened. His Chivosi stood before him, he could smell it, hear it, the air gave her away and her voice broke him deep down. His eye's snapped to focus and he tried to move, but the moves would not happen. He was left an immobile mess of fur. "Chivosi.." He said, voice as strong as could be for his darling mate and other daughter. "Aleutian." He smiled and wagged his wet-heavy tail, ears raised in a shocked/joyous state. He was truly home.
Tempest gave way to a small fit of coughing and gazed up as the familiar paw steps came into ear shot. Her head was up and turning before her Father even acknowledged it and she began to whimper lightly. Her Mother was nearby, and sister? She was ready to get up and parade about on her four little paws, but her physical energy drowned her mental. "Mama!" She cried, whimpering yet again, but the wind threw away her attempts and she silenced obeyingly. That was no matter, her Mother was soon in sight, followed by her sister Aleutian and the big goggling eye's that fell on her and her Father scared her. She knew Daddy wasn't well, she feared it sometimes, but he was strong, she knew this. "Mum!" She huffed, relaxing a bit into her Father's fur that held a dying warmth. She barely caught her sisters question, but knew the look in her eye's. Worry.

"Yes, yes of course they will" Chiv answered Aleu's question with a quick glance backwards at he daughter. Glancing a the sky for a moment before turning her gaze back to Mene and Tempest. Tempest at least..had to get into a den sometime soon, someplace warm and dry - Mene did too but she couldn't very well carry him. Nor did she wish to leave him here alone to take her herself. Wracking her brain for a moment she turned back to Aleu. "Be a sweetie and go fetch Merrill" She told the pup.
Ushering Aleu off Chiv turned her attentions back to Mene and Tempest, she was vaguely worried, YMCA did not have a healer and they had yet to make connections with the nearby pack who did. Perhaps Merrill would have some ideas..for now..well for now she would try to keep them warm and lay down next to the pair, adding her body heat to the mix. "Shh..save your strength Mene, it's alright Tempest. Your home now" She told the pup with a nuzzle for each of them.

Giving her mother a nod Aleu took one last hesitant look at her father and sister before turning and running off. She could only hope that Merrill was at her den, cause she wasn't sure what to do if she was off on a border patrol. Her paws carrier her as fast as she could through the trees towards Merrill's den. As she got closer she began to yell out, though the rain and occasional crack of thunder drowned out her calls. "Aunt Meme! Aunt Meme!" She yelled louder and louder. Oh she just had to be here. Her father needed help and he needed it now.

At this point in time, Merrill was settling in for her afternoon nap as usual. Really, anyone could go by her almost clockwork schedule: wake up in early morning, get a quick snack (optional), run border patrol and rescent borders, visit with a member in passing (optional), teach Verse a new lesson, get a quick lunch (optional), settle in for nap, wake up, watch over pups with Ki-Adi, check on others' reports, catch final meal of the day (optional), make a quick sweep ofthe river, and finally return to her den and sleep. She was content with this set-up, even if it meant that she had less time to bond with others; reall,y things happened enough while on the job anyway that this was hardly missed out on.
But Merrill was one of those wolves territorial about her nap, and upon hearing Aleu's frantic barking, she turned her head to view the pup with a very sour expression that matched the weather. "What?" she grumbled. "Did your brother fall in the river again? He picked a terrible time to get into trouble."

Aleu blew a sigh of relief when she heard and then saw Merrill. Thank goodness for Merrill and her daily naps, even if she was in a sour mood with the pup for interrupting it. Don't worry about that, she scolded herself, father and Tempest needed help. "Oh Aunt Meme, you have to come!" She came to a prancing stop, glancing back from the way she came. "It's father and Tempest. They are sick and need help." A soft whine escaped her before she turned and began to lead the way.
Aleu had no doubt in her mind that Merrill would follow. "They are near the river." She told the Beta as she ran off. Her legs may be short but Aleu could run pretty fast for a pup. Besides time was of the essence here so she couldn't doddle about. She cast a glance over her shoulder at the Beta before continuing on the way, headed towards her father, mother and sister were.

"Father and Tempest"? It took Merrill a moment to register the meaning behind what looked like meaningless words, and in an instant the light in her eyes returned at full power, the garb of sleep shrugged off for a few moments more. "Sick and need help? Spirits . . ." She ran after the pup, the cold rain inconsequential; the beta had thick enough fur anyway, and thus the worst problems she encountered were the sometimes slippery ground and rain falling into her eyes. Minor nuisances aside, she had little trouble keeping up with the swift Aleu.
"Here, here!" Merrill called before her as they reached the river. Chivosi was there with the pair, and Menelaus looked terrible - thankfully, Tempest seemed in better condition. "Alright, what happened? No, wait, nevermind, save that tale until we get you out of here. Si, these two need to be brought back to the nearest den to dry off; I'll help. Aleu, you help your sister while your mother and I help your father over."

Menelaus stared narrowly at the sudden purple thrown into a fit, Meme. He smiled the biggest grin he could to put on a fake face for what he was really going through, but he trusted Meme with as much of his life as he trusted Chiv. He struggled up and budged his little daughter to her sister. "Go with Aleu, I will be fine.." He whispered to her ears. Thunder and lightening boomed and cracked over head causing Menelaus to suddenly duck a bit. The noise had startled him.
Tempest was up now, her tail was between her legs and eye's filled with a tremendous fear that only quickened when even Meme was calling for the swiftness of a deer being hunted. She wasn't to quick to get away from her Father not until his words coo'd their way to her ears. She simmered down and went to Aleu in search of aid and comfort. She was well mentally at this point and could barely step her thoughts from death. She feared the worst.

Chiv blew a breath of relief as Merrill arrived, the purple beta always knew just how to help and Chiv knew Mene well enough to know that he wouldn't appreciate her calling for anyone else to see him like this. Her and Merrill he could tolerate - the others well she was sure he'd prefer they not see him in a weakened state. "Good girl Aleu" she told her daughter as she helped Tempest off - both for fetching Merrill and for helping her sister.
Turning her attention back to Mene she nudged him lightly "You need to stand ove, Merrill and I will help support you, laying in this rain won't do you any favors" She told him softly.

Menelaus huffed and puffed a bit at the thought of even moving his basic muscles for speech let alone standing up. He was in a miserable state, a light depression hitting him as he hears his daughters ask of his health. He wouldn't go down due to illness, he knew full well he was stronger then that, but still he could make no promises. Tempest was away from him, gave him more room to flop if he couldn't find the energy to move. That's when a flash of green and a huffing noise swooped into his ears. He stood up instantly, his body twitched with annoyance, and he nearly yelped. "Pekko." He growled viciously, he hadn't intended to be so angry, but he couldn't help himself. "Meme, can't you keep that mutt under control?" He was nearly delirious. A young, in-shape, healthy wolf like Pekko could easily take over his position, flatten him, though he was sure he'd have the others as back-up against the orphan he couldn't help, but feel defensive.
Sure as the wind blew, Mene was correct, in came Pekko, a flash of green fur, flooded with the rain falling down and ears flattened at the sudden raise of the obviously not well alpha. He stared in complete fear, Menelaus has his teethed bared and all in all looked as big as a bear, his hackles raised and all. Though his eye's gave away his weakness. Pekko stood there, unsure of how to react, he wasn't aware of the proper procedure on flopping to the ground and revealing his belly in submission.
Tempest was in utter shock, a flash of lightening seemed to swallow a situation she thought she'd never see. Her Father, hackles raised, teeth bared, was up and in a defensive stance, tail high behind him and proud. He was alpha. She admired him for a second after the fright drained from him.
