Balcombe Curiosities was finally open again. After the strange incident a few days ago, Switch had closed it to allow herself relax. This job was much more stressfull than she would have ever imagined! Who knew it would be so difficult to own a store filled with junk?

Today, the very human woman with short and layered blue hair was staring at the outside of the shop itself. It had been almost a year now, and the year had been spent trying to keep the inside tidy. That was a failure from day one, and thus today she decided to change tactics. If the inside refused to be cleaned, would the outside do the same? The woman's head tilted, sliding her hands into her coat pockets to stare at the outside wall of the shop. Not once had she ever recalled just looking at it, but she had to admit, it had a certain charm to it.

Predominantly stone with great windows decorated with etchings of great mythical beasts in white ice. The old display in the window was something Switch had never touched, and remarkably it had stayed clean the entire time. There were a few items in there, layered with the utmost care; a few books, a Grandfather clock, some figurines; nothing of utmost importance, but it looked very well taken care of. Her green eyes lifted to the wooden sign that hung from a wrought iron post, baring the name 'Balcombe Curiosities' backed by the Balcombe family crest. When it was first made, it must have been an impressive work of art; but weather and age had worn it down, but the name of the shop remained scrawled proudly in clear, ancient font.

Yep, it didn't look like it needed to be cleaned.

"Wow, what a mask." She muttered under her breath. "The outside is gorgeous, but it's rotten on the inside." Murmuring still, she reached out to pat some of the stone, wandering back in. "Like a rotten teenager." She said out loud in a joking tone, just knowing the shop could hear her. It did, and it groaned in response; a noise that could pass off as an old building shifting in the wind.

But that wasn't the only noise she heard; from somewhere upstairs was the cry of a Baby, wailing in displeasure.

"Na." Kay said, pausing in his shrunken head bowling. "Tek's awake." He said helpfully, the feathered serpent in his hair hissing in disapproval. Rolling her eyes, Switch headed up the stairs to the second level.

"I can hear that. Watch the shop for me?"

"Kaaaaay~ WOOHOO STRIKE!"

Trinity was not really sure what to do with Gera. Honestly she had been expecting something a bit more loud...and well energetic. So far she had managed to plop him in front of a television and soon discovered he did nearly everything it told him to do. She soon had to explain to NEVER take orders from a television. He only stared at her with his strange eyes and then nodded his head.

Since then he only watched and she wasn't sure if he was ...enjoying it. Now she was going out as she needed to replace basically everything that had been metal in her kitchen.

"Come on Gera...don't dally." She stated as they walked, she didn't hold his hand...as he never asked to. Besides she had told him to call her Auntie Trin...since mother seemed a bit too much for her at the moment. As they walked however she learned she had to tell Gera to NOT talk to random strangers who addressed him. SHe got the same doeful look and nod of his head before they continued onwards.

Gera trotted after Trin quietly obediently. He only stopped when he came to notice a woman with blue hair standing in front of a strange store. He abandoned Auntie Trin and came to stand beside the woman quietly.

Switch was halfway up the stairs when she realized...someone had been standing beside her out there, hadn't they? Turning on her heel, she rushed back down the stairs, calling to Kay to check on Tek. She recognized the crying that Tek was doing; it wasn't serious, he just wanted attention.

It had only been less than a minute, but Sure enough there he was, just standing there. Green eyes surveyed the area around them before she took her place beside the boy again, kneeling down to be at his level, though she wasn't facing him. She knew her shop, and she knew what had happened a few days prior; there were eight, maybe nine new kids out there...and this boy's aura felt like someone who had been born from one of the shop's items.

He was a Curio, apparently coming 'home' for the first time. If you could call the shop that.

"Hey there. I'm Switch, what's your name?" Switch asked quietly, not making a move to touch him. "Where's your Mum or Dad?"

The boy looked to the woman who introduced herself as Switch. He instincitvely looked to his side for instruction and then realizing Trin wasn't there blinked a couple of times before returning his gaze to the blue haired woman.

"Gera," He introduced himself in a rather flat tone before he took a moment to think on the second question before he shrugged. He didn't have a mum or dad. He had Auntie Trin.

Though a bit slow it seemed he seemed intelligent enough as he was observing Switch rather intently.

"Hello, Gera." Switch said, her smile faltering with amusement when he looked to the side. Was he waiting for orders? If he was, he must have had a Guardian...right? However, that shrug mildly worried her. "Did you get lost?" Well, this certainly wouldn't do! A quick glance told her the boy wasn't technically wearing clothes...but he didn't seem cold, either. Still, it wasn't the weather to run around mostly naked in.

"Here, let's go inside and wait for your Guardian." She offered, standing up and holding her hand out towards the glowing little boy. The boy seemed a little slow, but there was intelligence in his oddly coloured eyes; regardless, the blue haired woman was being clear with her words. "It'll be warmer in there, and you can play with my son while you wait!" Switch was positive that Kay would love to play with this boy instead of Tek; Tek bit too much to be a fun playmate. "Okay?"

Gera continued to stare at the woman and at the question he looked to the ground and seemed to be seriously conidering his answer. Lost? He guessed so. But he didn't feel lost. What was lost anyway?

Looking back up he stared at her hand and approached but he didn't take it. Auntie told him he shouldn't talk to strangers. But he knew her name...so it wasn't like they were strangers were they?

"Kay..." he replied as he came to stand beside her. He wasn't the type to ask questions. So regardless of the fact he had no idea what playing was or who her son was he didn't voice the question.

Switch pulled her hand back to her person when it appeared the boy wouldn't take it. Well, alright then! Smiling warmly, she moved ahead of the boy and opened the shop door for him, holding it open and making a motion to usher him inside. Really, how cold could that boy be? Once he was inside, she peered one last time out of the shop doors, looking around for someone, anyone, that could have been this boy's Guardian.

...And even if she could find someone, how could she tell he belonged to them? Hmm...Dilemma.

Kay was just coming down the stairs when Switch came back inside with the glowy metal boy. The little Shaman was holding his Baby Brother, that mishmash of mythical creatures with a really, really poor temper.

"Kay, this is Gera." Switch said cheerfully, motioning to the new boy while heading over to pick up the crying baby, Tek. "And Gera, this here is Xbalanque. You can just call him 'Kay'." She introduced the brown skinned Shaman boy, whose red eye was staring intently at the new comer.

"Hi! You're like me! Wanna play?" He said eagerly, not caring that this boy was currently parentless. New playmate that wasn't his mean and bitey brother!

Gera prompted by the hand gesture for him to come, had followed Switch inside without even a backwards look for his Auntie. He stood very quiet for a moment as he looked about the inside of the strange building. His attention was drawn to two new figures and he studied them before nodded his head at the instruction to call the new boy Kay.

At the question he paused, it wasn't an order... it was something he was suppos to decide.

"What you want do?" he responded instead, turning the question around as he wasn't the type to make big decisions like that. He noticed the strange thing that seemed to be attatched to the boy's head. He wanted to ask what it was...but he wasn't the type to ask questions. So instead his hair seemed to bubble up and form one similar to Kay's. Trying to imulate it swayingness as he only continued to stare at the boy.

Switch stayed near the door to the shop, lightly bouncing the chimera baby, being careful of his mismatched wings. From where she was standing, she could both keep an eye on the boys AND watch the street for someone who might be looking for a lost little boy.

Xbalanque tilted his head at the boy. Was he slow? Did he not know how to play? He knew a few kids that didn't know how to play...should he teach him? "I dunno, I was Shrunken Head bowling, but Mrrh has a headache I think." Shrugging, the boy looked over his shoulder, then pointed to a shrunken head that rested on it's cheek on a satin pillow. At least Kay was nice to it sometimes! "So I'm up for an---Hey! Haha, that's awesome!" Kay's red eye brightened excitedly, leaning over to look at the imitation the boy had just made out of his hair. Laughing, he turned his head a little bit to look at the feathered serpent that was fused to him, pointing at the copy.

"Hahaha! Look, Nahual! It's you!" The serpent hissed in annoyance, it's eyes narrowing and it's tongue flickering out of it's lips. Clearly unamused, it lifted itself up and curled on Kay's head like he was turning his back on the mockery. "Psshaww, you're such a spoil sport." Rolling his eye at Nahual's behaviour, the dark skinned boy turned his attention back to Gera.

"That's real cool, Gera! What else can you do?"
PostPosted: Wed Feb 10, 2010 12:19 pm

The little boy watched the strange serpent and let it immitate the snake thing before he allowed it to become apart of his hair again. He tilted his head at the question that was directed at him. What else could he do?

He looked to his hands as if expecting them to tell him. When he got no direction he looked back to the kid as if expecting him to tell him what he could do.

"What want me do?" He asked with a tilt of his head staring at him as he then immitated the strange skull thing that was on Kay's face. He blinked finding it hard to see.

Trinity was at her wits end....where could he of gone?? She was so use to the little boy following her around like an obediantly little puppy she had forgotten that he was still a little kid...and could get lost...or misplaced.

Clicking her tongue against her teeth she back tracked trying to figure out where he had gone. She walked past the store he had gone in without a glance.

Kay's head tilted at the question. That...wasn't the answer he was looking for! That wasn't a relevant answer at all! Of course, the boy's insistance on mimicking things about him distracted him from thinking Gera too odd, and when the half skull formed on his face, Kay laughed again.

"That's cool! So you're like, living metal or something?" Kay asked, his red eye wide with interest. The boy's arm was metal, and there were similar patches all over his body, and he kind of smelt like metal to him...so he had to be metal! "Can you do anything else with your skin?"

While Kay entertained Gera, Switch lightly bounced Tek to lull him back to sleep, looking outside for anyone that might be looking for the boy. "Oh ho?" The blue haired woman breathed out, catching a glimpse of a woman looking around. Cuddling her infant son closer to her, she opened the shop door, calling out.

"Did you lose something, miss?"
PostPosted: Thu Feb 11, 2010 11:30 pm

Gera looked at his hand and then back to Kay then back to his hand. Could he do anything else?
"No...sure." He replied finally a bit hesitantly, it wasn't like him to have to think for himself. He did things usually without thinking too much and followed orders to the T.

Wiggling his little fingers he compared them his two arms were so very different. So he attempted to get his arms to match. He found that trying to manipulate the very metalic and complex arm more difficult and thus he just copied his much simpler arm to match the other. He was beggining to look like a mech.

Trin nearly skidded to a halt as she jerked her head up as she heard someone calling out to her.

"Ah..." She felt embaressed, it was one thing to lose something but she had lost a someone...but then again maybe she had seen Gera.

"Ah..yeah..I lost a little boy...this tall...strang blushish glow...right made of metal? Name is Gera..have you seen him?"

If it was at all possible, Kay brightened again, watching with a keen interest as Gera manipulated his arms to somewhat match. Holding out his own hands palm down, he stared at his dark digits...then over to Gera's slightly glowing and metallic ones. "You are AWESOME!" The Shaman boy complimented, a wide grin on his lips. "Geez, all I can do is talk to dead people!" But it would be awesome to be able to change his body and make things move! Nahual didn't count, because Nahual was a grumpy snake.

Completely ignoring personal boundaies and the respect for someone else's person, Kay reached down to touch the boy's hands, feeling both the cooler metal and the warmer 'skin'. "This is all I got." Taking the wamer 'skin' hand, he put it to the skull part of his face; the brown skin was soft and fleshy, but the white was clearly bone, despite having no grooved between flesh and bone. Oddly enough, the skull eye was empty as well, yet Kay seemed to have no trouble seeing on that side. Imagine Switch's surprised when she walked in on a younger Kay, putting a marble in his eye socket and laughing like a maniac! "Not as awesome as you though." Sighing, he dropped Gera's hands, letting the boy go.

The woman's description of Gera was dead on; there was no doubt in her mind that she was the boy's Guardian. Nodding and coddling her son even closer to give him her body heat, she stepped further out the door, leaning against it to hold it open.

"Yeah, I saw him...he was standing outside of my shop! He's inside, playing with my son." Though it was more like her son was gushing over him, but whatever, close enough. "Safe and sound." She assured the stranger with a little smile.

Gera was unuse to praise of any sort, he looked to Kay with large eyes before looking down to gaze at his matched hands again. The boy liked it when he did this? He seemed surprised when Kay touched his hands and then allowed him to touch his bone like mask. It was...interesting and for the first time Gera allowed himself to explore the texture of the bone with his fingers even to the point of sticking his small fingers into the empy eye socket.

When he was released he dropped his hands his one arm morphing back to its regular state whilst the other remained the same.

He wanted to ask why the eyesocket was empty, but it wasn't like him to ask questions. So instead he looked at Kay and morphed his hands to look like a gaint spoon. The boy liked it when he changed how he looked.

Trin looked to the blue haired woman giving a quick appraisal before moving over quickly to her. She looked surprised at being told Gera was 'playing'.

"Playing? Gera...isn't the type to play unless you tell him to..." She mused looking as if this was all new information to her.

Kay laughed when Gera explored the bone part of his face, giggling again when the fingers went right into his eye socket. "Tickles." The Shaman boy explained.

"Well..." Switch started with a bit of a lingering chuckle, looking over her shoulder at the boys. "More like...Gera is amusing Kay to no end." As accentuated by an excited whooping noise from said Shaman boy. Stepping away from the doorway enough for the woman to walk through, she motioned over towards where Kay was being entertained by a spoon-handed Gera.

"You are so cool!" Kay said, throwing his arms into the air, accidentally hitting Nahual in the process. Lets just say, the serpent was not happy, and informed it's Master as such by biting his wrist. Gasping, Kay swatted at the serpent to get it to let go, grumbling at it in a language Switch didn't understand. Nahual hissed again, and curled back up into Kay's hair. "So you can change your hands into anything?" He didn't notice the other woman there just yet.
