Can I just say how frustrated I get when I RP with people who have the mind of an 13 year old that has been RPing the same characters for years and considers themselves RPers? I get sick and tired of it <.< sorry just I hate RPing when I find these people, and sure enough they're everywhere.

Well as I'm the only one around at the moment, would you care to elaborate on what you are saying. Is this directed at someone in the guild, or at the vast amount of Gaia users who fail at role-playing. Before I make anyone else mad by saying that, let me make it clear that at one time I was also one of those people who failed. I roleplayed alot and slowly I grew better until I've reached the point that I am now. I do not shun them, no in fact I encourage them to come up with original ideas and better there writing skills.

I'm mostly talking about various RPs I have gotten involved with, here in the guild there's only one person who's a bit iffy (not saying names) but can get by. It's not you if you're reading this >.> if it was I would tell you. But yeah we were all there and we all got better after a few RPs that died after a few years, but anyways, I agree also about helping them, but when I'm in the RP trying to direct them one way and they just push you aside and still keep at it, it just drives me insane. This isn't a rant on anyone here so no one take it that way.

I think everyone, at some point or another, was at that level where they "failed" at rping. I can understand what your bother getting at, but people aren't going to get better with encouragement and commands. If anything they should learn on their own how to RP, that way they can find a style that best works with them. The most important thing to do is enjoy RPing rather then finding it work where you have to make sure everything is "perfect". I find those people more annoying then newbie role players. My situation with RPing was/is similar to Aro, except I don't encourage or help other role players.
This is just my own opinion on the matter, I don't expect people to agree or disagree.

I do, also, understand what you're getting at with trying to direct other players. A sure way for them to be able to understand what you want: PM THEM. Explain and give them some insight as to what you're trying to do, but how much information you give them is up to you. Then again, they may not want to agree and just may argue with anything you tell them.

Haha. You should realize something Silver, and it's that people have a mind of their own and they have their own plans with their characters >.< Not everyone is going to want to follow another characters lead, and instead they will choose to follow their own path their way. You must also realize that if you are die hard set on leading a specific character one way, you should send them a pm asking them about it so that you can have something move in a certain direction. If you don't have too much concern about what direction their character takes in relation to your own, then you simply try to lead them some direction and if they don't take it they don't. It's something I've learned in my time of Roleplaying, and I'm actually more interested in seeing how things turn out rather than knowing how they will. This is why I personally rarely define anything I'm doing to another person because I like to see how they react with what they see of their characters personality.

Ah, but I may be getting a bit off topic. Basically I agreed to what Tal but in three sentences with a paragraph. I agree with you Tal on that those who find roleplaying as work are very annoying. I find it as more of a release from the everyday stress as it gives me something to think about, the same way that writing works for me. Also, there are so many people out there that aren't perfect that those people who have to be perfect (Like I wish my spelling was >.<) are really the ones who are at a disadvantage when it comes to roleplaying. You have to take things at a chance, and to be perfect, chance doesn't work.

-face palm- I think you guys got the wrong thing out of my comment, or I said the wrong thing meaning something else. I'm mostly talking about illiterate kids who change their character's personality about every five posts. I agree with Tal to a point, I think finding your RP does involve a little bit of direction from some people, or otherwise you'll be in different RPs with the same character in each one.
