 Agony was glad to leave the grotto and explore the lands of her herd. She didn’t wander too far off from her Mother’s side and stayed mostly within eyesight or made sure that her Mother was able to hear her. Of course it didn’t really matter sometimes. Agony would always make sure that her Mother was watching, but usually Regret never did. And Thanos…there were days where he would forget her name. But Agony did her best to enjoy every living moment, but did so in secrecy. She rarely laughed and smiled around her parents and fellow herd members. The only time she would laugh and be herself was in the privacy of the thickets and distant places of the forests.
Agony had crept away from her family for a brief moment. She had made sure no one was following them before stalking off into the dense forest. It was easier than being planned and now that she was alone she danced here and there. She threw herself up the skies and leaped for joy. It was an odd sight for such a creature to display fun and excitement.
Agony skipped around a small mound of mushrooms while bobbing her head up and down. She wanted to neigh and squeal out, but knew better as someone might hear her. Again and again she displayed entertainment until her legs tired and she rested.
Her crimson optics glanced up at the birds. They too were quiet as they were probably shocked to see the foal play. She was quite thankful that they remained silent and didn’t give her whereabouts out.
The young female breathed deeply as she dipped her head down and quickly glanced at the hellish birthmarks that took over her body.

Nameless wove his way through the trees. He didn't bother to let anyone know that he was wondering off, no one would care, except for his mother. His head hung low as he walked, tail tucked between his legs. Everything scared him, the sights and sounds of the forest were frightening to him. But there were no were near as frightening as the members of this herd he was born into.
His body froze in fear as he heard something up ahead. Oh gods please don't let it be his father. That stallion had had it in for him since the moment he was born. Cautiously, oh so cautiously, he peaked his head around the tree in front of him. A half relieved sigh escaped him as he realized it wasn't his father. No, it was his sister who resembled his father other than her coloring. He should run away, he wanted to run away but his legs refused to work. He just stood there shaking with fear.

Agony’s ears prickled forwards and her tail twitched as she heard something rustle throughout the forest behind her. Her cheekbones became uncomfortably warm and a nauseous taste filled her throat. She thought it was her Father or Mother who had followed her to her secret place in the woodlands. Agony would’ve been devastated if it had been because they wouldn’t be pleased and Agony lived to make them happy—that’s all she wanted was their happiness and love.
The young foal glanced over her shoulder to see the dark silhouette of her brother. A sigh of relief escaped from her vocals as her face softened at the sight of him.
“Brother!” she called out quite happily. Her tail flickered back and forth behind her as she trotted up to him.
As she stared at him, Agony was curious to know how much he had seen and if he would tattle to their parents about her dancing. She didn’t think that he would because he didn’t have a good relationship with Thanos.
“What brings you out here?” she asked him with a straight face but with a friendly smile too. The smile faded for a brief moment as she noticed his shaking legs. “Brother! Are you cold?” she asked, stepping forwards to his body. She stretched out her neck and gently brushed her cheekbone against his cheek and followed down to his neck.
Agony pulled back and smiled at him. “Brother?” she asked, looking into his red eyes.

Nameless shook even more when he realized that he had been seen. Oh no, oh no, oh no, he though, please don't let her hurt me. He knew he wouldn't be bale to fight back if she went on the attack, he was the smallest and weakest of the foals. Swallowing hard as Agony walked closer to him, he was about ready to bolt when she spoke. But then she smiled at him. Or at least it looked like a smile. He hesitantly looked behind him to make sure none of his other siblings were sneaking up on him...or worse, his father. Nope, he was the only other one here.
"I...I w-was wandering." He told her hesitantly. Well she didn't look mad to him so he hoped that she would just let him be on his way. Then she touched him softly and he for a moment felt like he was in the presence of his mother. Agony's touch was gentle like Regret's was. This helped him relax...just a bit. "Y-you aren't going to hurt me...are you?" He asked. Though honestly it seemed like a silly question, but he wanted to make sure he would be okay.

Agony’s eyes seemed to soften and a reassuring smile came across her lips as she looked at her nameless brother. A hearty laughter escaped from her vocals as she shook her head. “Of course I’m not mad,” she whispered softly to him. Agony stretched out her neck again and rubbed the end of her nostrils against his cheekbone. “You have nothing to fear, Brother. Really. You don’t,” she reassured him with another warm-heart gesture.
Agony stepped back away from him then. “You want to know what I realized?” she asked, dipping her head down and sniffing the flowery scents of wildflowers. “That away from our home, we can be anything we want to be.” Agony glanced over to Nameless with a bright smile and expression on her face.
She laughed quietly as she raised her head. “That’s my little secret. You won’t tell anyone. Will you? What you saw me doing…you won’t tell Mother or Father, will you?” she asked him, her voice desperate and pleading.
Agony didn’t think that her parents would believe her brother anyways. She just wanted to make sure.

Slowly the colt was beginning to relax more and more. Though his nerves were still getting the best of him he didn't feel as threatened with Agony as he did around the other herd members. His ears perked up a bit as she spoke and slowly his shaking became less and less. "We...we can be anything?" He asked her, his tail wagging ever so slightly.
"Oh n-no. I won't tell anyone." He said with a shake of his head. Nameless wanted to avoid contact with the others as much as possible, so why would he tell them about this place or this secret. His eyes glanced around the area for a moment before settling back on Agony. "N-now what?"

Snorting as he walked around, roped wiggling about, Rowan's eyes searched for any sign of Agony. The other two fillies were currently busy with Thanos and Regret so he had to track down the third one. Grumbling to himself as he walked his ears picked up on the faintest of sounds up ahead. Picking up the pace a bit he pushed through the trees, concentrating on the sounds. He could be wrong but it sounded like the filly, and perhaps her brother. Letting out another snort Rowan finally came upon the small clearing that the two foals were in. Eyes studied the situation for a moment. "What's going on here?" He asked in his gruff and scratchy voice.

Agony gasped rather loudly as she looked up at Rowan whom had stumbled upon the two foals. She was unsure about what to do let alone what to say. She quickly glanced at her brother and knew instantly that if it had been their Father instead of Rowan, he wouldn’t be pleased and would be rather furious for her to be near her brother who was shunned out of the family. She pursed her lips together nervously and she felt her legs wobble underneath her body as she looked at the stallion.
“I..I,” she stuttered. Agony quickly looked to her nameless brother and then back to Rowan. “I mean, we…we um…” she paused, breathing in deeply as she tried desperately to think of something to say.
Agony’s ears flattened and her tail dropped in between her hind legs.
“Don’t be angry, Mister Rowan! We didn’t do anything wrong!” Agony stepped forwards with a pleading expression across her face.
She then stepped out in front of her brother. “I’m sorry! Please don’t hurt Brother! He didn’t do anything, I swear!” she cried out. Agony felt her crimson optics sting as she felt a need to cry, but wouldn’t in front of Rowan. Her mind flashed memories of her brother being pushed by their Father and wasn’t sure if Rowan would do the same.
“Please Mister Rowan! Please don’t hurt him,” she begged over and over again.

Rowan's eyes moved from Agony to the nameless colt and then back to Agony. Gods, he wished he could just crush the small black colt under his hooves now and get it over with. Thanos was weak letting that mare Regret convince him to keep the colt, even if it was just for a little while longer. Why if he was Rowan's son he would have dealt with him the moment he was born. No hesitation, just one swift kick and it would be over with. He gave his head a shake, clearing those thoughts.
"The nameless one is not my concern. I was sent to find you." He told her, his voice scratchy laced with anger. He hated being a damn babysitter. Next time he had a talk with Thanos he would voice these opinions. He was Beta damnit, some of the other members would be better suited to this menial job. "Now what were you doing?"

Nameless nearly had a heart attack when Rowan came crashing into the small clearing he and his sister were in. With a shriek he jumped behind his sister, head held low, tail tucked in tightly between his legs. Oh no, he was gonna die and he knew it. But then Agony stood up to the scary stallion with ropes. He hadn't expected that. He was extremely grateful for her bravery.
Slowly he lifted his head, though his legs shook quite uncontrollably at this point. As Rowan referred to him as the nameless one, his ears pinned against his skull in anger and he let out a hiss. He hated being called Nameless, but what else would they call him? Thanos still refused to name him or even admit that he was his son. Some day he would have a name, and it would not only be a name of his own choosing it would be a great name.

“His name is Brother!” Agony snapped at Rowan with a serious expression. Her eyes glared at the stallion as he spoke of her brother as though he wasn’t standing there. Her legs trembled underneath her frail body as she had gained the courage to speak forward. And even though Agony was scared and unsure of what Rowan would do next, she felt pleased about herself.
She glanced over her shoulder at her frightened sibling. She had always seen her nameless brother scared, but never before had she witnessed his poor little legs shaking so much. She stretched out her neck and brushed the end of her nostrils against his cheekbone. Agony would protect him and keep her brother safe. A faint smile came across her lips as she looked at him. “It’ll be okay,” she whispered to reassure the colt, but even Agony felt the words were false as she wasn’t sure if everything would be okay. Each day seemed like a challenge to her brother and a reward to live. A heavy sigh escaped from her vocals as she turned her head back to Rowan.
“You were sent to find me and I’m with Brother. He should be part of your concern, Rowan.”
Her words slithered from her tongue as she spoke. Never before had Agony sounded so threatening and cruel before.
She flicked her tail, turning around and giving her Brother some more attention. She reached up and brushed her nose against his cheek again before gently nipping at his mane.
“Come on,” she said and began to step off deeper into the woodlands.

Deep down Nameless wished that he could be half as brave as Agony was. But he knew he could never stand up to Rowan...or their father for that matter..without dropping dead of a heart attack before saying anything. Nameless was just a scared little foal, though on occasion another part of him came out, a part that would easily be able to stand up to even the scariest of horses or any other creature. But it would seem that that part of him was not going to show up today.
He hesitated only for a moment when Agony asked for him to follow. He didn't want to be left alone with Rowan so he forced his legs to work and followed beside her.

Rowan stared down at Agony as she talked. Brave little twerp, he thought, but stupid. Didn't she realize that he was the Beta of this herd and as such he had every right to ignore the damn colt if he wanted to. "Fine, his name is brother." He said in an annoyed tone. Rowan didn't give a damn what the colt was called, his duty was to find Agony and that's what he did. Of course Thanos hadn't told him what to do should he find the wayward filly, though it was safe to assume that he wanted her to be brought back to the rest of the herd.
Distracted by this thought Rowan looked up to see Agony and Nameless... Brother he corrected himself, walking off. Moving forward he quickly pushed past the foals the came to a stop in front of them. "Now hold on a minute." He grumbled. "I was sent to find you, and I have. Now your father did not say to bring you back, but I'm sure that was what he meant."
He glanced about for a moment, looking, listening for any signs of the others before lowering his head close to Agony's ear. "I will allow you to stay with your brother for a short time, but after that I must insist that you leave him here and return to your father with me." Raising his head back up he gave her a look that said either accept this term or I will drag you to your father kicking and screaming.

“If Father wanted me back at the herd, don’t you think he would’ve come out to search for me instead of sending you out?” Agony looked up at Rowan with a cocky grin. “Just doesn’t make any sense. But yes, I’ll return back to dear ‘old dad and mom after I’m done with Brother.” Agony flicked her tail before turning around and guiding Nameless away from Rowan. She glanced over her shoulder a couple times to make sure they were well clear away from Rowan. She then leaped out in front of Nameless, laughter filling her voice as she bucked up and down a couple times.
“Did you see his face? He was so angry! Did you see it Brother? Oh, boy! Looked like Rowan was going to kill us for a moment!” she laughed.
It really looked like Rowan would’ve beaten her up for the way she snapped back at him. She was out of line with her tone of voice and words. Rowan was beta and proudly respected by the other members. But Agony didn’t care because she knew that he wouldn’t do anything to her because of who her father was.
“No one will ever touch you when I’m around!” she looked at Nameless with a brave expression. She stood proudly with her chest puffed out a bit. More giggles escaped from her vocals as she trotted around her brother.
“What are we gonna do now? I think we should get away from here. I’m sure Rowan will be coming around soon to bring me back to the herd,” she said. “So let’s just run, run, and run some more! He’ll never catch us,” she joked around. Agony breathed deeply as she walked out in front of Nameless. A bright, cheerful smile on her lips as she looked at her brother. “What do you say?” she asked, tilting her head to the side.

Rowan was fuming mad at this point. But he had told Agony that he would let her play with her brother and he would not back down on his word....yet. His ears stayed alert to the sounds of the foals as they moved further off into the trees. He would allow them some privacy but should they wander too far off then he would stop them and drag Agony back to her father one way or another.
He began pacing back and forth across the small clearing he was in. Listening, waiting, watching. Soon he would go get the wayward foal, but not yet. Perhaps she would disobey him and give him a reason to hurt her. Wouldn't that be nice, he thought with a smile on his maw.
