History: Kaatan’s birth was a bit of an accident. He knows little of his parents, only that his father had been a brown rider and that his mother lives in the Weyr, since he was born there. Following his birth, he had a fairly generic life, spent as a weyrbrat, running errands, helping in the kitchens, etc. This life led him to grow up with a good sense of hard work, and he never shirked his self-imposed duties, finding them to be the most valuable thing in his life.
As he grew up and reached the age of twelve, he expected to Impress at his first Standing. Much to his embarassment, he was left standing on the sands without a dragonet by his side, which was a sudden, drastic blow to his pride. He because very submissive, especially when dealing with Riders, as a result.
Each time a queen clutched following his first try, he was left standing alone with the others who went back to their previous lives, the disappointment hanging over him and making him feel as though he had let down his father.
Appearance: Kaatan is rather tall – 6’4” if he stretches his neck, slightly shy of it just standing straight. His build matches his height, muscular and toned, but a rather large physical presence in general. His features are delicate, obviously inherited from his mother, with well-lashed, steel-grey eyes, thin, soft-edged lips that lie between cheekbones of little prominence, and a softly angled nose that seems a bit slight in comparison to the rest of him. He keeps his hair at a medium length, with a shaggy cut that falls just below his ears.
Even though he spends a good portion of his time running through the sprawling tunnels of the Weyr, he manages to find time to spent outside, often in the early morning and late afternoon- enough that his olive-toned skin is well-tanned and his dark brown hair slightly lightened.
Personality: There is nothing more that Kaatan values than work, and the result of it. No job is too small for him – even if it would be considered a step down from the errands he tends to run – and he treats it as the most important thing at that moment. Since he has yet to Impress, he feels that he has been deprived of his birthright, and while this hasn't left him bitter, it did seriously hurt the pride he held in his parentship. After his first Hatching, he became suddenly submissive, talking less to the dragonriders he so respected and going about his duties in the same way as before, but with his eyes lowered.
He may seem obstinate at times, especially to others his age, but he considers himself to be of sound mind and morals. Even if he is dependable, he enjoys getting away from the Weyr and spending time on the high ridges among the sunning dragons, out of the stagnant underground air.
Overall, he seems more complicated than he is, living of independent morals based on Weyr life, and honoring Dragonriders with the highest respect. These morals often lead him to appear close-minded, but it is simply that he is comfortable in his ideals. Not Impressing severely injured his pride, and he became submissive around his superiors and those he honors, leaving him constantly casting his eyes away from them and limiting his conversation and, he fears, severely injuring his relations with the ranks he hopes some day to join. His strong-willed personality with his peers often leaves him feeling a bit left out, since he rarely gave way to his ideas when challenged by others, often leaving him at odds with others and occasionally strongly disliked when he would have to have the last haughty word of a discussion.

I consider his two flaws to be his submissiveness when talking to superiors and his obstinance to equals~ Though if these aren't strong enough I can see that and will work out his personality more~ 3nodding

Okay! Then I just need you to tell me how both of those traits are disadvantageous to him/make him look bad to other people. Like just add in a few kind of showing examples, as in say my trait was vanity I would talk about how my character is so easily distracted by his own reflection that he can't focus on anything and is constantly late for chores because he can't leave his room without his hair being perfect. (Lame example is lame, but hopefully it helps XD)
