Article: China Summary. most chinese couples want to have at least one boy. China limits couples to only having one baby. Result is that women abort/kill unborn or recently born females in order to have a boy. This winds up in huge gender imbalance and a lot of single men. One very good example of how 1. not letting people control thier lives and 2. allowing unrestricted abortion, can result in major problems in society. Ps.I know this was brought up in the ED thread, but I was planning on making this topic way before it was.

ABortion is also slowly killing our economy. Social Security has steadly gone up since abortion was legalised.

I read somewhere that if the trend in china continues, by the year 3000 they will have a grand total of 500 citizens.
Go population control!

The funny thing is that abortion is illegal (in Hong Kong at least) but the government looks the other way when it comes to clinics that are open about their abortion procedures.

I know the story on the Chinese abortions... and I find it quite gross. I hate that Communist Country... the people are fine but the laws are hard and cruel.

Why not do this? People abort for all sorts of defects. If gender is a defect to you, go ahead, abort. You're allowed to kill people for being girls, as long as they aren't born yet.
