well im not Jewish but I wanted to join this guild in a hope to learn more about Jews since WW2 ,how they have excelled and stuff like that. I just learned something new but i wanted to know whether there are any African American Jewish people out there in this wide world and instead of asking Google i thought why not ask Gaia's Jewish population maybe they know or one of them is black.Now i dont hate people at all im just curiose of this fact since one of my friends acts as if they know everything about everyone and stuff and he said that there werent any black jews so hey i have to ask..
Are there any black Jewish people out and about on gaia tonight?

Yes there are black Jews out there. I knew some at a synounge I used to belong too. I think Sammy Davis Jr. convereted to be Jewish. (He was black.)
Jews are everywhere.
My mom once knew a Jew who was Chinese.
Just tell you friend that he is wrong about it.

There is a large African American Chassidic community within Crown Heights, Brooklyn.
If you want to find out about Jews in Africa, google for Ethiopian Jews.

I once knew a black Jew at my school. Adopted. She was my friend.
And there was also this other black Jew at my old school, a boy, but we never crossed paths. Never spoke to him.
Also, Obama's related to one of the head Rabbis of those black Brooklyn Jews. They believe Moses was black, though I picture him as more of a really dark tan...
Divash here at the JGG has a brown-skinned avi, but I think she's also just really dark tan like Moses. Kind of a Middle-Eastern ethnicity, I believe.

Lumanny the Space Jew Divash here at the JGG has a brown-skinned avi, but I think she's also just really dark tan like Moses. Kind of a Middle-Eastern ethnicity, I believe. I think she's a white girl from Chicago, which means one of us is about to fail.

Thank you for this key infromation of overthrowing my friend so called "kingdom" of people who belive him apperently they thinks hes like the coolest guy ever he slept with my sister then a week later tried to sleep with me ..idk why im still friends with him any ways again thank you -TopXHat

There are many Jews who are black, and also East Asian (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) and South Asian (Indian, Laotian, Cambodian), and Hispanic, and white, and so on and so on. There is, in fact, no ethnic group that doesn't have at least a few Jews to claim. Some of this is because of conversion -- I mean, seriously. Judaism came from the Middle East, so all those German Jews, Russian Jews, and Hungarian Jews are just as much the descendants of converts as the Jews of Mexico, Greece, Britain, India, and the Philippines. Famous converts to Judaism (who brought up the subject themselves, so it isn't immodest to discuss it) include Sammy Davis, Jr., Marilyn Monroe, Nell Carter, Connie Chung. We are everywhere, we are everyone. Judaism is a belief, a nation, an ethnicity, a way of life... but it is NOT a race.
Also...
Lumanny and Neuf both win, and both fail. I am a fair-skinned, red-haired, part-white, part-black, ALL JEWISH girl.
I'm also not from Chicago. I live there, but I'm from Mississippi. Born and bred in the Delta.

Alright, always good to bust a misconception but in the future, try to refrain from explaining who is having sex with who.

If that person tells you something about Jews, just consider the source. Would you trust him to tell you the right time of day if you asked him? Then why trust him about Judaism?

There are actually a large concentration of very religious Jews in Ethiopia (in the continent of Africa).
