His dark fur glistened with the health of a youth that had never seen a day of trouble in his life, no scars marred his perfect visage, and the splotches and whorles that covered his body made him stand out amongst the pale grasses. Like his mother he was built to hunt in the shade of trees, or even at night, his daytime hunting was never very good, but thanks to his mother he was a decent enough hunter to catch a bite here and there and keep himself well fed.
It was good to be young and free and able to do and go where he liked on youthful paws.

His new litter of pups was back at the den with his mother and he was not at all pleased about it. Having pups had never even crossed his mind, yet here he was, out and about hunting for the little rats and he'd had to leave the graveyard to scavenge. Why did no one ever tell him that cubs came from a good night?
Huffing quietly the mahogony coloured hyena pauses, the lanky black cheetah had wandered in to his sight. Unusual to see a cheetah so close to the graveyard. picking up his paws he makes a beeline for the tall slender cheetah.

Baabar stops in his tracks, looking the approaching hyena over, he was certainly old enough to know what a hyena was, and how dangerous they could be but he had never seen one quite so up close and personal before.
His stringy muscles tense and he clears his throat. "You know, I can out run you if you attack." He states, his head lowering a bit with the thought of making a dash for it.

The male hyena laughed a hyena laugh loud and echoeing and usually thought of as a menacing sound, but there was true laughter in his eyes. "No point attacking you kitty, you can't be eaten I wouldn't waste my time. I'm just out scavenging." He pauses and flickers his ears "Not very often I see a cheetah this close to the graveyard, you lost?" He raises a brow and sits on his butt, just to show that he had no intention of attacking, what was the point in chasing something that tasted like crap?

Baabar looks at the hyena and relaxes, though only a little. he had heard stories of hyenas and he wasn't entirely sure if he could trust this one, but the male seemed relaxed and unwilling to chase something he couldn't catch so that made him relax a little.
"I guess I'm sorta lost, I'm just out on a journey, was bored at home and my paws just lead me in this general direction." He shrugs a little. "Didn't even know there was a graveyard here."

Sabola laughs again and shakes his broad skull. "If you look to the horizon, you'll see the grave yard, my pack resides there and not all of them are as, helpful as me, so you should probably avoid it." He shrugs in a calm manner, he didn't particularly care what the cheetah did and why he was offering advice he didn't know. perhaps it was just a change from his mundane pup filled life that made him more discerning towards this cheetah stranger.

The black cheetah looks over the mahogany hyenas back and gives a nod. "Don't think I'd like a grave yard, thanks for the tip." He smiles a slightly weak smile. "So uh, do you have to come out of there often to scavenge or do things come to you?" He questions, almost curious about the hyenas lifestyle now that living in a grave yard had been put in his head.

Sabola shakes his head "Yeah we have to come out on to the savanna to hunt quite often unless something comes to the grave yard to die. When that happens all hell brakes loose, but it's good eating when an elephant drops in, so to speak." He snickers and shakes his head.

The dark cheetah raises a brow, taking a moment to get the pun. The grave yard where the hyena lived was obviously no ordinary place, a place where elephants went to die sounded frightening. he had seen elephants and imagining a dead one was difficult for him.
"I'd imagine so, elephants are huge, they must feed you for quite a while." He pauses and his brow creases, he felt almost uncomfortable at the thought of this huge grave yard. A little shiver rolled down his spine. He was definitely going int he opposite direction, the place sounded too spooky even for someone as young and adventurous as him.

"It gets kinda noisy sometimes." He shrugs his broad shoulders "Elephants come they die, we eat, it's the way it is." He stretches out his stubby limbs and gets to his paws with a huff. "I should probably get going, stupid pups need feeding."

Baabar blinks in a surprised manner "You have kids in there?" He blinks owlishly, his odd eyes fixed on the hyena. "Must be tough raising kids in there. " He shakes his head, he'd never even thought of having kids, he felt he was too young, but to raise them in there, well it felt almost criminal.

"Yeah, unfortunately, the girl I knocked up, up and left them, my ma cares for them and I hunt for them. Bloody stupid little things, wish they'd hurry and grow up already." He huffs turning his back on the cheetah "Word of advice man, don't hang out with girls, they lump you with babies!" He snaps trotting off, he needed to hunt, or find something to eat for the hungry little mouths.

Shaking his head the lanky cheetah blinks owlishly watching as the Hyena left. "Yeah uh, thanks for the info! Good luck on your hunt!" He calls after the dark hyena, turning in the opposite direction. he hadn't known where he was going, but he certainly wasn't going to that grave yard, it sounded like a place he just didn't want to visit.
Taking a depe breath he sighs and heads off in another direction, maybe the next distance would provide a nicer place to visit.
