I'm a Co-Stage manager for a show right now that's opening in about three weeks. I just found out (due to facebook) that one of the actors suports Male+Female marraige only and dislikes gays.
How can you be a theatre kid and not at least be tollerant of gay people? Oblvious I took him off my friends list but I feel almost disgusted. I cannot be friends with a person who thinks part of me is evil.
Plus a friend of mine, who is also acting in the show, just recently told me he is gay himself. Feels really cool he trusts to tell me. Also in a werid way it makes me feel a little safer (being bi myself) knowing another gay person. Meaning a person I actually know that isn't a online only friend. He is the only person on the cast that knows I'm bi.
Its going to be hard to be around this guy for a while. I'm hoping he doesn't audition for the next show. I'm stage managing that one.

...That is the first time I've heard of an anti-gay person in a theatre program.
Just try to put up with his stupidity for now. He might just get scared off when he realizes he's going to have to change clothes in front of a bunch of guys before every performance.

That's horrible! You should bribe the director into giving him a homosexual part.
Does your homosexual friend know that the other actor is anti-homo?

So he should realize the advantage of embracing homosexuality. razz

Muffin of Magic That's horrible! You should bribe the director into giving him a homosexual part. Does your homosexual friend know that the other actor is anti-homo? I can't bribe the director. Its a devised piece about super heros, completely original.
And no, he does not know about the actor's oppinion. I haven't had the time to talk to him about it just yet. But I want to. Now its just every time I see the guy all I can think about is him being against gay people and how he would probably react to find out that one of the stage managers is bi and one of his fellow actors is gay.
