Drifting aimlessly through the grass, Yu Zhou found himself focused on the elegant whisps on the tip of his tail. The bright blue that covered his body had caught the attention of many passersby, and he quite fancied himself for it. The brighter the better, he always thought, and quite pitied those with dull, dark coats.
His green eyes flicked forward, and they grew wide with excitement as a neon butterfly crossed his path. He looked like a cub, pawing after the butterfly in the air, completely oblivious now to the world around him. His mouth was open, and he snapped playfully at the small insect.

Peca had been wondering the rouge lands a lot lately, she wouldn't stay gone long but she had so much on her mind lately. She loved the pack she had joined, and the mate she had found. She hadn't counted on that mate, having a litter of pups soon after she had come.. and the pups werent hers. As the white and teal hyena made her way through some long grass, she wasn't really paying attention to what was going on around her till she saw the neon colored cheetah batting at something she couldn't quite make out.

Eyes lowering from the butterfly for but a second, Yu found himself taking a second glance at the light figure of a hyena. His broad smile faded, and he came to a light bounce, watching the butterfly float off on its way. He was a bit disappointed, to say the least, but he wasn't going to be rude and completely ignore the hyena. It's not like it was a totally hideous thing; it's pelt was rather cute, and it wasn't dull, so it wouldn't be a total waste. His head drifted back down, and he stood, plainly waiting for the hyena to come and engage him in some sort of conversation; it's what mother said was the proper thing to do. Ah, mother, how you wrap little boys around your dainty paws.

Peca paused for a moment studying the cheetah's body language. She had only met a few cats in her life, and she wondered if it was safe to approach this particular creature. When she saw him stand patiently without any sort of attack look or anger she smiled. The petite hyena moved forward, "Hello, I didn't meant to interupt you." Peca was young and friendly her voice was very soothing. "My name is Peca."

Flicking his tail, Yu's neon eyes traced the hyena as she moved. He didn't feel threatened by her, even though she was a hyena. "Peca?" It was strange sounding, at least to Yu. His family had a tradition of names, and apparently those names weren't common on the savannah. "I'm Yu Zhou." He quirked a smile, his adolescent demeanor poking through. While she wasn't as gorgeous as some other things he'd run across in the past, she wasn't ugly by any means.

"Well Yu Zhou it is very nice to meet you." she said with a pleasent smile on her face. It had been some time since Peca had spoken to a creature who was not of the canine variety. This particular cheetah was rather striking, with very bright colors she was definetly intrugied by him.
"What is it that you are doing out here in the desert all on your own?" Peca asked the cheetah. She found her wanting to know more about te cheetah and where he came from.

"Mm, quite." He glanced away for a moment, a small imaginary pixie catching his attention. "I'm just...roaming. I find it quite enjoyable." He smirked, looking back at the hyena. A wave of rainbow washed over the scenery behind her, and Yu was entranced by it, as usual. His imaginary world was the only thing that kept him from going completely mad.
"But you know, I rather like roaming around. Staying in one place for too long can be rather...dull. Wouldn't you agree?" He raised a brow to her, expecting a similar answer as she, too, was out here alone.

"I use to be a roamer." Peca said thinking back about her past. It was hard to beleive that not to long ago she was a roaming and lone hyena ready to experience the world. "I left my parents and brother when I was just a little older then a teenager. To learn all I could. Though now that feels like a life time ago."
Peca sighed, her current life situation coming screaming back to her, "Though as of recent I have come to join a pack, I have a mate and a family. Its come along so quickly" the hyena shook her head back and forth, not sure what to say about her current life situation.

"Oh." Yu's tone quickly became flat. He saw no glamour in the 'home pack life,' or for him, pride life. Seeing the same people every day, all the time, doing the same thing, over and over- it seemed downright boring. And for this flamboyant male, that was the last thing he wanted.
Slipping back into his mind, Yu was starting to lose control of himself. Soon, he knew, he'd be fluttering off again, looking for something to catch his interest, if only for a moment. Surprisingly, this hyena had kept his attention for longer than he would have expected, which was always a good thing, and he saw it as a sign of improvement.

Peca could hear the tone in Yu's voice, it made her a little sad, and she felt a need to immediatly desire to justify her choice. "It is not as bad one would think. Its really quite a nice place, and I have a family now, even if it isn't totally my own" she tried to smile even though what she was talking about upset her somewhat.
"I shouldn't keep you too much longer, if you are a roamer I am sure that you want to get on your way again."

"Mm, yes, my orange skies are waiting." He smiled at her, no longer restraining his vivid images. He swung his head around, dancing a little bit as he twirled. "Well, I suppose....you should return to your little family. A mother is the only important thing in a family. At least, that's how it was in mine..." Leaving the sentence with a somber tone, Yu quickly recovered, bouncing on his toes.
"So, good day to you, pretty little hyena." He closed his eyes and turned, starting to trot briskly away, dreaming while still awake, hoping they would lead him somewhere magical.
