Hey, sorry I'm a little late, I totally forgot about this until I looked at the time. <_<
My week was pretty good, I'm sort of nervous about school starting tomorrow.

I was thinking about how to monitor yourself, and gain self control.

Sounds good to me. Self-mastery is a very important thing to learn. I know I struggle with that a lot.

cool. In my head I split self mastery into 3 categories. thoughts, words, and actions. The most important to learn to master is your thoughts, because that in turn will lead to mastery of your words and deeds.
what are some ways in which you can learn to master your thoughts?

Well, I think one important principle to learn is the fact that you can't think of two things at once--your mind can only focus on one thing at a time. Once you realize that, you realize that you've got to choose what you're focusing on, and as soon as you think about something positive, there's no room to think about something negative.

Yeah, that's true. Things that affect your focuss include the media (all of it), and the things you experience in your day to day life. I've taken this and looked at my life and checked if the people I choose to be around are a good or a bad focuss, and then I've looked at all the media I watch/ listen to and checked to see how it affects me. So that's one way to help change your view of things and help you controll your self better.
So what do you think are some ways to controll your words?

Think of what you're saying before you say it. Speak slowly and deliberately to allow your own mind to process your words instead of just blurting things out.
I have a huge problem with this.

I think a lot of people have a problem with this. That's a very good way to try and stop yourself, but if you start blurting things out try to stop yourself before you dig a hole to deep. and sometimes it helps to get a bigger vocabulary, if you listen to the people you interact with everyday, you find out that they don't always have the largest vocabulary in the world and they use words that they think can justify a situation but those words don't, there are so many words in the english language that go unused (just look at the dictionary that has close to every word in it). I think with a wider vocabulary, you have more choices in conveying yourself, and it makes you think harder about what your going to say to slow you up some. ((sorry for random tangent about words.))
do you get where I was going with this?

Yeah...but I don't have a problem with swearing, just a problem with saying really stupid things and not really realizing the implications of what I've said until after they've left my mouth.

ok, I want you to think about those things after you say something that you feel you shouldn't have. First you have to find out when and why and then you can start finding out how to correct that problem.
does that make sense?
