Heavy heads propped on bored fists as the class of 5th years listened or drooled through the monotone voice of their Magics Histories teacher. Just after potions class, MH was always the downer of the day and most of the kids stole a bit of a nap.

Most, not all. In the back of the class, with large black boots propped up on the desktop, a girl with short dark hair carelessly filed her nails, every so often glancing up at the teacher. She could pass this class in her sleep. She loved the old history stories...and she also loved frustrating Professor Aldromor into dropping his boring monotone voice for that of his red faced rage at her challenging him.

Her name was Feira and she was one of the least liked students of the class. Probably the only student that several teachers disliked. She brought it on herself, however, and she knew it.

Finally, the professor dropped that seeed of the story that caught her ear and Feira threw her legs down with a hard stomp, causing a kid's elbow to slip off the desk, allowing his head to hit the table top.

Everyone was suddenly wide awake and the professor was looking right at her.

"Yes, Miss Malone? You have something to share?" He asked, clearly annoyed. He had been in the middle of the story of Jaris and Ysulet, a young vampire and witch who had fallen in love over three hundred years ago and Professor Aldromor was of the opinion that there could be no relationship and they were doomed from the beginning.

"Yes, actually, I do." She replied cooly. "You're an idiot." Sitting forward in her seat, Feira rested an elbow on her desk, pointing her finger at the professor. "The only reason you have to think they were doomed from the start is because nobody recorded what happened to them after they stormed the Keep of the oldest Coven to date in order to destroy the Coven Leader before he could follow through on the massacre!" The class gasped and looked between Feira and the Professor, waiting to see what would happen. Aldromar wasn't challenged often.

"Why couldn't they be toghether? a million things more unlikely have happened. The vampire has imortality and the witch doesn't, fine, and assuming that the witch does not want ot be turned she still has magic in her posession to lengthen her unnaturally long life. Ysulet was the greatest mage of her time, wise and powerful... and you think-"

"Enough!" The teacher shouted, slamming his book closed and down on the table. Just at that moment, the bell rang and Feira could tell she was saved for the time being. EVeryone began to disperse and Feira, with a grin and a wink, followed them out, knowing it'd be detention later.
