So, at two this morning I decided to try a vertical halfatar after seeing so many wonderful examples here in Fashun.
Seven rolls around, and I'm JUST finishing. Between finding color combinations that worked and items that suited the purpose, I've come to understand why there are so few of them here on Gaia xD It was a fun attempt though even though it didn't turn out particularly well.
What fashion related challenges have you taken on here in Gaia that have turned out being either extremely challenging, extremely easy, or just otherwise not what you were expecting?

I used to live predominantly in red and black, so moving into other colors was tricky as well.
Or WAY back in the day when I just wore item sets from the shops ;3 Breaking that was tricky, too.

A challenge for me was when I used to make avi that completely violated gaia's layering, and the challenge was following the rules, but i somehow managed xD
Another challenge was moving on form when I was hacked like after I thought I had everything I wanted
Back in my noob days, but now, I dont really care about it x3

One challenge I had was rather recent.
I wanted to make an avatar that didn't use black, red, and gold. My usual colors.
I decided to go into Bibbles' territory, green.
The outcome, Raz liked it so much, she wanted to be my twin.
Then Bibs joined in, too, and we were triplets. xD
Another challenge was breaking the habit of using Those 90s pants and gloves a lot.

I used to use Those Black 90s Pants aaaaall the time xD I didn't own many other pairs. I hardly ever use them now.

90s gloves are beast.
I used to use them more because they used to layer under the white medical gloves, but they don't anymore, so they've lost a degree of awesomeness.
and I remeber I used to think those 90s pants were the best things ever, and in ever one of my avi's they were there, but I barley ever use them anymore becaues theyre so big and bulky, and dont really let you balance colors through them.

I don't even own my 90s pants now XD
I tried to make a vertical havatar
failed.
A challenge I've been wanting to do was moving into predominantly neutral colored avatars (mostly browns)
and I'd like to think I've succeeded :]

Anywho, I love challenges. A while back I tried my hand at a few backwards avatars, and some actually turned out halfway decent.
But I still haven't managed to create a decent 'style' avatar. They always end up too matchy-matchy or complicated when I try to do them.

Best thing ever when I was a newb was the day I discovered that the Nitemare Claws layered under the cat gloves to make the claws look hyperextended.
I still love the 90s gloves, but the pants are ick :< Lets see.... I also used to wear my fox set, all the time. I don't think I've touched it in years.

I generally like to base an outfit after an item and colors that I am really inspired by. I had tried for it feels like years to make something out of the Obsidian Tatsu Helms pants. I finally recently just made a really cool sorcerer/evil magician gut out of 'em!
