Ahadi's tail twitched about as she impatiently waited for the rest of her family to wake up. The sun wasn't quite up yet but the young pup was ready to start her day. She was itching for adventure and if she had to go find that on her own then she would do so. Besides her mother didn't seem to care too much, it wasn't that her mother didn't love Ahadi and her siblings, it just seemed that Usiku wasn't cut out to be parent material. Now her father on the other hand was a great parent, always looking out for his pups safety, which often put a damper on Ahadi's adventures. But today would not be so. She was determined to go out and do as much as possible before he woke.
Slowly she crawled away from the rest of her family, careful not to wake them. She had learned quickly how to walk silently in order to sneak away. Pausing at the entrance to their small rock cave home, she glanced back. Well at least they were all still asleep, but then she saw some movement. It looked like Mirie was starting to stir. Dang, she thought. Turning she quickly scooted out of her home and out into the world wondering just what adventures would come to her today.

Mirie stretched his body while he yawn. He looked around the small cave. His family was fast asleep. Letting out a yawn, he laid back down. Suddenly it accrued to him not all his siblings were there. Ahadi was missing. Rapidly, but still trying to stay quiet, he got up and headed toward the entrance of the cave. He didn't want to go out there. His father didn't like them going out on adventures, especially by themselves. But this time was different. Ahadi was out there and he didn't want her to get hurt. He sat there for a moment pondering whether or not to take the risk. I mean he did have other siblings, but on the other hand he only had one Ahadi. Sucking up his fear he got up and left the cave, walking little by little away from the cave.

Ahadi walked along with an air of confidence to her. She wasn't afraid of anything or anybody. Her tail was held high, wagging slightly as she padded away from the cave. Large ears picked up the slightly sounds of another set of feet, it was her brother, she almost knew it before she turned her head to look. Dang, she thought, I must have bumped him while I was leaving. Well she would be more careful about that next time, couldn't have her siblings interrupting her fun now could she? Turning her head she looked back at Mirie with a smile on her maw.
"Come on!" She called out to him. "Let's go see if there are any wildebeest at the watering hole." Ahadi had only seen a wildebeest once, but it enough to make her want to see one again. And hopefully close up this time. She didn't bother to wait to hear what her brother had to say, if he followed then fine, if not he would go back home, likely wake up their father and send him after her. Either way she wanted to get this done before the rest of the family woke.

'She wanted to see the wildebeest? What if one decided to trample her?' he though as he walked. 'There is only one thing I can do.' He turned himself around and started to walk toward the cave. Then a thought struck him. What if she were to get hurt. It would be all his fault. Everyone would know that he was a chicken who couldn't protect his sister.
Angrily Mirie growled at himself as he turned himself around. He bolted after her. "Ahadi! Ahadi wait up for me please!" He yelled out hoping she wasn't too far ahead.

Coming to a stop as Mirie called out to her she gave him an angry look. "Not so loud, you will wake up mom and dad." Waking up their mother didn't bother her as much as if their dad woke up. If that happened then her fun would be over until she could sneak away again. Her paw tapped the ground impatiently as she waited for him to catch up. When he was close enough for her liking she took off again at a run. "Hurry up!" She called back to him.
It didn't take long for her to reach a large rock that could be used as a lookout spot. Jumping up, she scrambled to the top of the rock before lowering herself down on her haunches. Eyes scanned the watering hole for any signs of wildebeest. Well darn, there wasn't any here right now. She continued to search for something of interest, tail wagging happily as she did so. "I don't see any." She said to Mirie with a slightly disappointed tone to her voice.

He hoped that he woke mom and dad, even if that meant he would be in trouble. At least he would be safe. Lazily he laid down once he reached her, he was tired, annoyed and out of breath. After today he was certain he would never leave the cave again even if his family was in danger.
"Your looking for wildebeest aren't you. What would you do if one decided to attack you? Sure mom or dad could take one down but you? There is no way. One of those could easily smash you with one of its hooves." Mirie said pessimistically. "Now that you've had your little adventure could we head home now? By now dad's awake and is worried about us."

"Of course I'm looking for wildebeest." She told her brother without taking her eyes off the watering hole and the surrounding area. This was not her day it would seem. First she had her brother trailing her and now there was no wildebeest. Turning she looked at Mirie. "If they attack me, well then I will figure out what to do then. I'm pretty fast, I could probably run away." Though to Ahadi running away wasn't an option, that would make her miss out on the real action.
Ahadi's eyes went back to the watering hole. "If dad is awake then he will find us, we haven't gone all that far." A smile crossed her maw as she saw something off in the distance coming towards the watering hole. Oh now that was so much better than seeing a wildebeest. Turning back to Mirie she stood and stretched. "You're right. Let's go back home." She hoped he would fall for it, if not, well she was going to go to the watering hole anyways. Leaping off the rock she put on a burst of speed, instead of heading towards their home she was running straight for the watering hole. "Rhino!" She yelled out to Mirie. Ahadi was going to get nice and close to this rhino, she was determined. It's horned looked huge even from this far away.

He was relieved when she said that they would be going back home. There were no wildebeest there. Only his family that would protect him. Then it struck him as odd that Ahadi would give in so easily. He looked back at her and saw her running toward the watering hole straight for a Rhino. When she yelled at him he didn't hear. His brain was slowly shutting down. All he could think about was 'Oh look a rhino.'
Seconds later. after his brain caught up, he realized his sister was running right toward a rhino. Was his sister nuts or something, he thought as he started to run toward him. No the nuts one was him. He was the one running toward his early death, just to save his sister, who would experience the same fate as him. "Ahadi stop!" He cried out hoping his sister would listen.

The words 'Ahadi stop' barely registered as she ran towards the rhino. At this point no words could stop her, she was far too close to turn back now. Putting on another burst of speed the pup ran around the edge of the watering hole. The few animals that had gathered there for a morning drink began to scatter at the sight of the running up. Jumping between two fleeting gazelles Ahadi barely escaped a kick from one before continuing on. The smile that crossed her maw was huge now, tongue was hanging out of her mouth as she ran.
By now the rhino had caught on to something not quite right and lifted its head. Due to it's poor vision it couldn't see Ahadi but knew there was danger somewhere close by. Turning the rhino charged off, but ran towards Ahadi. Scrambling to stop or at least get out of the way of the larger animals way Ahadi was set tumbling away as the rhino charged through her. Back leg kicking her away. She let out a small yip of surprise as she landed roughly on the ground. Standing up in a cloud of dust Ahadi watched as the rhino slowly retreated. Then she remembered that Mirie had been out with her. "Mirie! Mirie where are you?" She called out to him. "Did you see that? That was so fun!"

Mirie slowed down his pace. Ahadi wasn't hurt too badly as she only yipped. Catching his breathe he started walking toward her. Then he stopped. He saw something moving in his peripheral vision. Quickly he turned his head and saw the rhino heading toward him. Why did bad things happen to him? He was the careful one, the one that thought before he leaped. There was only one thing he could do now and that was run.
In a haste Mirie darted away from the rhino. "Ahadi! Ahadi what should I do?" He cried out hoping his sister could tell him how to get rid of the rhino.

Ahadi didn't think about it, she just acted when she saw her brother in trouble. "Keep running!" She called out to him as she began to run towards the rhino. She pushed herself harder than she had ever done before, finding extra strength somewhere in her already tired muscles she began to close the gap between herself and the rhino. The beast had it's attention focused on Mirie so it didn't notice the other pup coming up from the side. Rhino's were kinda slow and cumbersome so that worked to her advantage.
Leaping into the air as she reached the rhino she slammed her small body into it's head, only barely avoiding it's horn. The rhino snorted and threw it's head, knocking Ahadi back. She scrambled to her feet prepared to go after it again, but it seemed the beast had no intention of continuing after either herself or Mirie. The large rhino turned and began to trot away away. Letting out a small growl Ahadi watched the rhino leave again before turning to look for Mirie. "Mirie! Are you okay?" She hoped he was, cause then she could keep playing. If not they would need to go home and that would only get her yelled at.

When Mirie heard Ahadi slam into the rhino's body, he looked to see what happen, causing him to slip and fall. His face hit the ground. For a moment he laid there not sure what to do. Was the rhino gone? What happened to Ahadi? Was she okay. Then he realized that she had saved him. He was the one who was supposed to protect her not the other way around.
He heard Ahadi calling him. Embarrassed, he got up and walked over to her, his head looking down. "I'm fine Ahadi, how about you? Are you okay?" he asked without looking at her in the eyes.

Ahadi was laughing as Mirie came walking over to her. "That was so much fun!" She could hardly contain her excitement. Here she had come in hopes of finding some wildebeest but got an up close and personal encounter with a rhino. "I'm fine." She told him with a nod of her head. Oh if only she could run home and tell her parents about what she had done. Surely her father couldn't get too mad at her for saving her brothers life, even if she was the one who had put him in danger in the first place. "So what should we do next?" Ahadi asked, she wasn't quite ready to call this adventure to an end.

Mirie look up at his sister with slight confusion. She still wanted to go out adventuring? His stress level was getting higher by the second. He should have gone home when he could, but now it was too late. Now he owed Ahadi for helping him. If he left and she got hurt he would never forgive himself. No matter what he would stick with her until they got back to their cave.
"Well we could always avoid going to dangerous areas." He suggested with a hopeful smile. His tale wagged back and forth hoping she would say yes.

Her smile faded into a frown. Avoid the dangerous areas, well that didn't sound any fun at all. "But the dangerous places are where the fun is." Ahadi said with a bit of a whine to her voice. She could only hope the sad eyes she was now giving her brother would make him change his mind. Besides in these lands no place was truly without danger. That was why she did what she did each day, pushing the limits, knowing that danger will find you even if you play it safe, so why miss out on all that fun.
