Tikoto woke with the wind in the trees and the birds greeting the sun with such glee it made her sick. She blinked her eyes open slowly, allowing herself one big yawn before licking her lips and rolling over.

"Oh."

Thats right, she'd defiled an innocent last night, hadn't she? Somehow or another she snugged herself tight up against him without causing him to wake up. Her hindleg was stretched out against his in such a way that she couldn't even flip her tail without touching him. It was delightfully pleasant, waking up this way. Leaning forward, she licked his cheek softly and whispered, "Wake up, sunshine. The day starts with you."

Ears flicked with a grimace twitching on his lips as a nightmare was slowly fading from his mind's eye. And coming from a pride full of warriors and safety, to picture such images and fears during his rest was something new and disturbing for the male. But the smell of fur and the warmth of company almost helped to easy Lia's troubles, him thinking it naturally to be his pride kin. That was until a pressure reached his cheek, and a voice hit his ear, that purple eyes flew open.

That was no kin.

Memories flooded back to the boy and he froze over as he became fully awake. It didn't help any that the other predator had a loose but firm grip around him as well. Scoffing to himself, Lia' nearly ignored the words. "How sarcastic of you...."

His reaction gave her a thrill that rivaled last night in it's intensity. Tikoto would have purred has she been able to. Yawning once again, she cuddled up closer to his side like the sweet girl she so clearly wasn't.

"I meant it this time," she whispered. With a puff of her breath, she watch the hairs of his mane flutter about. "You've puffed out, did you know? That means your a man." The fact that she hadn't killed him in his sleep meant that in her mind she'd already dominated him. Which, she basically had. Life was oh so sweet when you had a pet to call your own.

Lia bit his lip as the lioness drew closer for a nuzzle, almost in a kind and loving way. But the male knew it was nothing more than show and a fake smile. This girl...there was something dearly wrong with her and how she viewed life. And the male felt all the more ill that this had been his only option to draw her away from harming his friends and family. That is, if she kept her end of the bargain...

Ignoring the detail to his fuller mane, the male pinned his ears back when he replied. "And you best mean what you promised before." She was right, he was a grown male now, whether he wanted to accept it or not. And if need be, he'd use his adult strengths to end this once and for all. Despite his strength still being new to him, and that he hated to cause bloodshed.

Tikoto's brain sparked just enough to register the tenseness of his posture and the way his body reacted to her touches. Loving it all the more she tugged at his mane with her teeth affectionately. If only he was more aggressive she would never leave, but alas the game had already ended, leaving her in a state of unrest. Where would they go from here?

"Yes, yes, three moons." She replied flippantly, pushing back on him with a growl before pulling back just as fast. "Whose to say I won't...come back-" The lioness cooed, "-once my sentence is over? What if I want more of you?" Even to her own ears she could hear the lie. Once she left these lands the possibilty of her coming back was as small as the chances it would rain that very instant.

"And those three moons have passed. Your time here is done." His tail flicked anxiously as Tikoto pulled on his mane even in play. It was far too close to his throat for him to feel at ease. And it was when she stopped smiling enough to growl that Lia finally moved. Swiftly moving to his feet, the bigger lion ruffled his fur in a defensive posture.

"Because now I'm both alert and aware of your ways. I promise you won't find an easy way back into these lands." No, not at all. Especially after what he'd just been put through, Lia doubted he could ever forgive or feel sorrow for the lioness again. Or so he thought.

She flexed her claws against his fur just before he pulled away. Tikoto frowned up at him from her position on the ground before rolling up onto her paws. "Your very hard to please." Nonchalantly she scratched behind her ear with her overgrown claws as once again she was over taken by a yawn. In the early morning glow she could pass for a average, young lioness without a care in the world. It was when the day started to fade that she gathered her true strength.

"We're not in the pridal lands, love. " Tikoto grinned lazily, rolling her shoulders with a sickening 'pop!'. "We're in the rogue lands, and here we don't take kindly to threats." The more she talked, the more fang she displayed. "So, if you don't mind, go on back to your mother so I can pick out one of your brothers to fill your spot."

Oh, yes, she'd seen them. What a gorgeous line of brothers he had. Some were brighter than him, one even a sickening yellow, but they would do for the time being.

Perhaps he was hard to please. But what did it matter to him when it was said from a cold blooded killer. Quietly and distantly, Lia looked on as the lioness took her time waking up. Even now it hurt him inside to see how casual she could be. Almost normal in such simple behaviors. Like how softly she had managed to sleep beside him.

If only it wasn't a lie.

His own fangs began to show as he growled to her offensive words. How dare she threaten his family in such a way! Now his fur lifted in true anger and insult, and he extended his claws in an offensive promise. "You so much as look at any of my kin, and I will personally cut your eyes out myself." Was it a death threat? No. But it was well known that any predator left blind was no longer a threat at all.

"Now leave and never return, Tikoto."

Her eyes crinkled with mirth before she let out a charming laugh. "Is that jealousy I hear? Sweetheart, you know I'm all yours." Tikoto brushed the mane out of her eyes with a swipe of her paw, coincidentally catching the corner of her eye with a claw. She winced, growling out in pain as a stream of blood rain like tears down her eyelid from the scratch. "Looks like I can do that on my own."

Shock radiated through her. So much of it flashed through her, reflecting out in her eyes that it would seem she'd never get over it. "You used my name." She pointed out the simple fact, the one that no one else had ever used. "Don't. ever. say. my. name. Call me monster or demon if you like, but never say my name."

As for leaving, she made no move to do so. Tikoto merely sat and glared at him, raw fury building up in her soul over the use of the damnable name.

Lia scoffed to the others honey-touched words, tuning them out for what they really were. There was nothing sweet to them and there was no bond to even feel jealous over. Although the male did growl to Tikoto's own display of pain. Just how she found it humorous or encouraging was beyond him.

Lifting fluffy ears, the dark male blinked to the sudden and hushed remark. Who'd have that that would be the one tool to insult her? Or at least disturb her own sense of peace? "Then leave, and you'll never here it spoken again." He was not eager to fight, even if his pride encourage such a survival skill. If they could separate in mutual hatred, well....that'd be just fine.

Tikoto's growl vibrated her shrunken chest. She reached out to swipe at him, then stopped herself mid-way and stood instead. It wouldn't do her any good to maim him because the relationship was over. The bloodied tip of her tail flipped up irritably as she glared at him, coiling around his side before slinking away from the pride.

It would have been best if she never returned, but one day she was going to get him. For what purpose, she didn't know, but it burned in her veins like poisin. With one last look over her shoulder at the male, her orchid eyes burned his image into her mind before disappearing.
