
The longer it took, the more Janja wondered. She had had cubs before, there wasn't any obvious reason that she and Hayate couldn't. The fact she had had cubs before added to the pressure of trying to have cubs with Hayate, they ought to have cubs of their own. She had a hunch, one she did not wish to openly suggest and was hesitant to acknowledge but.. there had to be a reason. This was merely an experiment, she could rationalize it away. And so long as she maintained an ambivalent attitude, she wouldn't need to feel guilty or disappointed.
She had wandered quite far from home, where Hayate, Jedi and her nieces and nephew stayed.. looking for something. A stranger.
