VIOLET ISLAND

DESCRIPTION - LOCATION - PEOPLE - CLIMATE - FLORA - FAUNA

User Image

  • Description:

Hidden in fog and surrounded by lore lies the location of a group plotting a foul scheme upon the world. Built into the side of a small mountain range that exists on the island lies a castle forged of magical stone, blended in with the forest and other wildlife of the island. Though posed as ruins, the depths house this ambitious organization, composed of agents of darkness whose bleak aura cover the entire island.

  • Location:

South of the Dragon Continent of Angara and southwest from Attaka Islands is where this island is located, five hundred miles diameter of fog covering the ocean. Historically, this place has always had a constant presence of high precipitation, but recently, this fog has increased in size, as well as with the increase of disappearances at sea. Before, accidents were limited to crashes into rocks due to low visibility, but now, the danger of traveling in this location has kept lots of people away. The only reason people travel through here now is to investigate the reasons for these disappearances as well as explore the remote Violet Island that lies uninhabitated, at least they think it is.

  • People:

This island holds no signs of civilization, though there have been rumors of seeing "figures moving through the forest." Though they may just be animals, some have said they've seen humanoid shapes, too.

  • Defenses:

Rocks - Large chunks of rock lie at various points around the island's shores, making it difficult for ships to get close to it without crashing. The only sunken shore that allows for docking is on the northern end of the island.

Fog - The fog closer to the island holds a small amount of evil power. The effect is too small to have any immediate effects, but as one stays within the vicinity or just on the island in general, the power of this fog accumulates, which slowly makes a person start to lose their focus and become more fatigued mentally. Those with good willpower or are devoted to a goldly power have an easier time defending against this status effect. Others can only fight against this with the aid of someone with the power to fend these effects off or else they will succumb into unconsciousness.

Monster Presences - Lying in air, sea, and land lies monstrosities that live upon Violet Island. They aren't always visible due to the heavy fog, which they make use of for surprise attacks, though there are some that do not care whether they are hidden or not. Silence is a large influence on the audio of the environment, which adds to the stealthy nature of these mysterious beings.

  • Climate:

The temperatures are seasonal. Summer is hot and winter is cold. However, due to being closer to the tropical belt, the temperatures never get too cold to bring about any snow. At the same time, it never gets too hot due to the constant rain the area gets. Around Violet Island, the weather is usually more stormy whenever it rains.

  • Flora:

Some exotic plants one would expect in a Carribean climate are present within the forests. However, due to the tainted evil that lies upon this place, much of the plantlife has been somewhat mutated into larger versions of themselves. A few now are poisonous and even "man-eating."

  • Fauna:

Strangely, there are hardly any animal life quickly apparent, which have been replaced by the "monsters" that now dwell upon this island.

Rain fell from the storming heavens onto the cursed Violet Island, the fog ever present as it kept its stay upon and around this plot of land out in the middle of Durem Ocean. Few sounds lurked this place outside of its range, but if one walked the land, they will soon hear monstrous cries and roars that will make the hair stand tall on the back of the neck. The only sign of something civilized was the mark of a structure sitting in the side of a mountain in the center of the island, having an architecture that resembled the Gothic nature of Europe's ancient cathedrals, but lacking its holy properties. It was within this structure where the true activity went on.

The room was dark, as dark as darkness can get. There were torches of faint red lying on the walls of this room, but they were spread so far apart that they did little to combat the shadows. There was but one light source that managed to beat it out, and it sat in the center of the room as a globe of red, a texture like that of water constantly moving around its spherical shape. Often, faces and large mouths can be made out of its distorting visuals, looking like a montage of terror one would see on the walls of something not of this world. There was a single figure standing just a bit away from this globe, the front part of its body barely visible due to the red luminance that spread from the center piece. The shape of his body was made out to be fairly fit, bulging against some tight clothing he wore on his body. A beard sat upon his face, well groomed. Shades were lit up by the red glow as the figure stared with an emotionless face at this strange device before him. There were few sounds present in this silent chamber: a slight wheezing coming from somewhere, the crackling of the torches' flames, and the whirring of the hovering magical abomination in the center of the room.

It wasn't long before the quietness was broken by the opening of a door, another figure walking into the range of the center light. He seemed to be wearing a set of clothing that looked Victorian in design, wearing a long coat, and holding what seemed to be a curved sword resting in its scabbard in the grip of his left hand. His eyes glowed in effect of the luminating light, and his mouth opened to speak, his voice deep and hitting the walls of this room sternly.

"My mission was a success. We have acquired all three."

The other man smirked, walking a little forward to reveal that his hair was in the style of ethnic cornrows, stylish, yet offsetting to the mood present about him. He replied with a voice that was reminiscent of a certain Lu Bu founder, his voice a lot more smooth, but powerful within the limited space that they had.

"Excellent. I am surprised you were able to pull it off with little resistance from the surrounding locals of those places."

The katana wielder smirked, amused by that response.

"I had some interference, but nothing that my minions couldn't handle."

The glasses-wearing one lost his smile.

"Your work does not end here. We have more to do."

“What are your next orders?”

The muscled individual raised his right hand, directing it toward the sphere before him. Suddenly, it began to warp into indistinguishable shapes, its colors going into lighter hues before an image showed itself. It was a large mass of land, looking like a healthy region of both nature and civilization.

“The continent to the north of us, Angara, is your next order. Even though we are many, we still have yet the combined strength to take on the entire world. Through time only will we be able to accomplish such a goal, but before we can do so, we must acquire ourselves a little more outside help. This continent is composed of dragons. As you know, dragons are a prideful kind who will not give up the opportunity to assume positions as the authority of this world. They, too, are powerful, but even they know the danger of angering the many of the world who call it home. So, we will convince them into joining us. However, we must be subtle. Though they have a name to live up to, they are still righteous in their own rights. To them, peace is a priority.”

“So how are we going to win their hearts over to our cause?”

“We win over the hearts of their strongest. We tell them what we want to tell them. We let them know that our cause is righteous.”

“The twist of the tongue,” the katana wielder said with a grin on his face.

“Dragons can sense things that others cannot, so you will have to go onto this mission under the guise of the man you are.

“Very well. I will do as you say. Angara will soon become one of us.”

Valentine turned away, walking back to the door. But he stopped just before opening it, turning himself back around.

Sieg, there’s something that I’ve been wondering. C. Fox. He is wasting valuable time getting into his petty fights.”

“Are you questioning a Kaiser's capability?”

Valentine stared for a few more moments before he gave an acknowledging nod and walked himself out the door. Anger was plastered onto his face, having his right hand swing vigorously out to the side in spite.

"The place is surrounded by some powerful storms," said Valentine through the sphere as he was communicating back to Sieg, currently standing on top of a flying monster that resembled a dragon as he looked upon the ancient land of Angara that was sealed off to other.

"As expected. They wouldn't let anyone get such easy access. Okay, change of plans. Until we find a way to penetrate their defenses, there is another task I have for you."

"What shall you have me do?"

"The City of Durem is thriving with life. It is a hotspot for many Gaians, from social life to economy. It is a place rich with opportunities. And we want to grasp that opportunity with an iron fist. Valentine...acquire Durem for me."

"Destroy it?"

"No. We do not want to harm the stability of this city. Instead, we shall conquer it in another more fitting way. Extortion...territory...buy outs. I want you to use whatever methods that are necessary to build some allies within that city, grow money, and take that city by its head."

"Sounds like a mafia."

"It's exactly like a mafia," Sieg responded quickly, smiling diabolically.

"It shall be done."

The image then cut out.
