What do you all think then? not so keen myself, the dark colours jump off the screen at me and make the page look narrow and mean, but i'm sure i'll get used to it, once i've found how to get to everything again!! scream

I'm torn. I really like the new layout but cuz it's all flash and java my computer is now uber slow on gaia crying i really need a new one lol...maybe this will give me more motivation

Ok. Here is my 2 golds worth. The look of it, I like it but hate it at the same time. I have to stretch my page out now which I really dont like, but the look of it is ok. Now here is my big problem with it all. It is too dang slow. I have a new computer and running on DSL and now it is all lagging as if i were on dial-up with my old computer. rolleyes So I feel for anyone who is having to deal with this lag. mad I just went threw bumping Lil Jakes account and it took me an hour mad normally it would only take me about 20 minutes to do it. confused Also, there is no link to the subscriptions except on the main forum page. I basically have to go around my elbow to get to my.......you get the point. scream So all in all, I voted hate it. But what can we do other then just bite our lips and go with it, cause they wont change it back sweatdrop

I said hate it too. To me it just doesn't look good. I liked the soft easyness of the old style.
As for speed, I'm having a hard time wondering what Neo is up to. Every time I go to my portal, my system jumps to 100% of the CPU. It has never done that before, and it seems more than strange that it happens on the portal... ANyone else notice this?

well everything's loading much faster for me this morning, and it's taking you back to your post without pronpting, but i really do not like the dark panels down the sides of the screen sad maybe, they'll eventually give us a few colour options for the site background, so we could lighten it up a bit if we wanted

2 things that i have noticed so far this morning,
one good...you don't appear to have to wait between posts at the moment, no saying tht this will be permament though!
one bad, this stupid big blue panel hides people's polls if the page has been stretched neutral

it does say in the announcement that a few things will be misplaced or forgotten about while they're sorting the new layout, but i sincerely hope that they put that back where it should be, as it's a total pain to bump everyone's quest threads at the moment, i gave up after 3 because it's just too much hassle redface

My portal has always slowed down my CPU because of all the flash, and I've noticed that often times, if things are running really slow for me, it's because one (or several) of my IE windows are suddenly hogging more memory usage than they should, and then I have to end task on them, and that fixes it. The portal sometimes causes it, but way back before I had premium, refreshing the wiz a lot would sometimes do it too. But yeah, I've noticed a major slowdown in the loading of my portal the last few days anyhow. (I do like how we can launch the superwiz in its own window now and close the portal completely. Runs much faster then!) As for the new gaia look, I'm liking it, and I'm sure I'll get used to it. I think the slowness has been due to stuff they're adding recently though, and not due to the new layout itself.

The only real complaint I have is the fact taht my "info" box (where my av and gold count are) is onthe right. Maybe it's because I'm a leftie, but I like having things like that on the left side--it's more natural for me to start @ the left side of a page for info.
And it's really going to take some getting used to the new menu format, but I think I'll be okay in the long run. I personally like the layout other than the above-mentioned stuff.
