Twilight was on its way, and the sun was slowly sinking beneath the treetops on the other side of the small meadow. The vibrant wildflowers that bloomed in the clearing seemed to glow in the dim evening light, casting their shadows upon the lesser grasses, bringing a sort of life-like tone to the meadow.
Indeed as the day turned to night, the stars began to grace the sky with their presence. And this is where Cadius began his day. Eyes locked upon the night sky, his home or so he thought.
His mind so focused upon the night sky, Cadius missed the fact that forest had given way to a meadow. His frame slowly moving into the clearing. With the absence of brush and trees, Cadius's scales gleamed in the twilight. Shining with the last light as the sun said good night and the moon hello.
It was a brilliant moon that night. If Cadius had anything to say about it. "Hello mother Luna" He whispered out into the night, Cadius's voiced filled with the sorrow at being stranded upon the ground.

Deneb scooted along the edges of the clearing. Her mind more focused on finding a place to settle down for the evening. It wasn't until the moonlight caught the iridescent blue of the stallion's scales that her attention was caught. She blinked watching him intently for a moment before edging slowly out, breathing in his scent and registering that he was a stranger to her.
She wandered a little closer letting her tail flick slightly. "Are you alright?" she asked her voice sweet and chiming like raindrops on a silver bell.

As the voice rang out through the still night air, Cadius tore his gaze from his brothers above. Taking in the appearance of the land-walker, Cadius couldn't help but let out a small snort. She was ridiculous, despite looking rather similar to his own cursed, land-walker form. And while she may seem like a beauty to the other land-walkers, to Cadius she was just another one of them.
Cadius remained silent for a long moment. He was reluctant to speak with the land-walkers. However Mother Luna would be disappointed in him, if he was not polite.
"I am content"
To him, they wouldn't understand the burden of being a star and the plight of being a fallen one at that. Flicking his tail, Cadius tore his eyes away from the land-walker returning them to the night sky.

Deneb shook her head throwing her main out of her golden eyes. "Its awful late to be out all alone." she said trying to make conversation. She looked up and smiled faintly. "I like the night too...reminds me of walking with my dam up in the foothills. The air was so clear and the stars would be so bright. The moon shining on the dew on the grass. Magical..." she said trailing off.
She glanced over and suddenly felt embarrassed. "I'm sorry...I'm rambling." She looked up at the sky her eyes scanning until she found her star. The one her dam had said that had shown so bright on the night of her birth. "Hello, bright one..." she whispered quietly.

Cadius's thoughts had returned to the night sky. His vibrant eyes sweeping from one star to the next. There was brother Bok, always staying close to mother Luna.
Cadius did not pay much attention to Deneb's rambling until her last words. Ear's flicking, he tore his gaze from the stars. "What did you say?" Cadius paused long enough to collect his thoughts before surging forward, his tone filled with the demand to know. " Land-walker?!"

Deneb's head snapped back to the stallion. His tone made her take a step back her ears flicking in alarm. "I...I..." she finally claimed her ground and went to her full height. "How dare you be so rude to me!" she snapped back at him. "Anyway, I was speaking to Deneb! The star my dam named me for!" she took a step forward showing the stallion she wasn't intimidated by him. She'd heard of impulsive rude stallions but this one was taking the cake in her opinion.
"And who are you calling Land-walker!? I don't see any wings coming out of your back!" she said looking up at him imperiously.

Cadius's eyes narrowed. Hoe dare this land-walker talk to him that way. Gritting his teeth, Cadius took his own step forward. His tail lashing behind him in an angry manner.
The night had grown quiet, the crickets ceasing their night song to the mother moon. Speaking of the mother moon, Cadius's head gave a tilt. His ear's flicking, as if listening to some voice only he could hear. Letting out a heavy breath, he turned his gaze from the land-walker to the bright form of mother moon. His eyes narrowing until only slits remained.
With a final angry lash of his tail, Cadius tore his gaze from the moon. "Fine" His tone was just as anger filled as Deneb's. Only it wasn't directed to the mare but to the moon.
Turning his anger clouded eyes to Deneb's form, Cadius remained silent. He had nothing to say to this land-walker.

Deneb snorted and muttered to herself under her breath. "Well!?" She said glaring up at him. She stood trembling in anger for another moment before finally turning away. "Big jerk..." she muttered. "What the heck is wrong with you?" she stamped her hoof impatiently. She peered back up at him under her forelock. "I was just trying to be nice....or did your dam never teach you courtesy?" she said baiting him.

Letting out a snort of his own, Cadius glanced once more at the moon before shifting his gaze to her again. "You wouldn't understand what is wrong with me!" His temper rising once more, Cadius allowed his tail to lash, as if it had a mind of it's own.

Deneb eyed him. "Oh, really?" she said moving to walk around him eye him critically. "I think I understand well enough." she said. "I see a rude, arrogant stallion who's to involved with himself to allow anyone to help him." she rounded to stand in front of him again. "I on the other hand was trying to be polite and helpful to a stranger in a region of the woods I frequent."
She huffed and stamped her hoof. "I don't know why I bothered." she said tossing her head looking up at the moon stubbornly.
