1. BUDDA is not fat. in all reality, Sidhartha, the original Budda, was increadibly thin, since he gave up all worldy possesions and fasted in order to obtain enlightment. I don't know where that fat Budda came from, but it is incorrect.

2. People only say fat is bad because of two reason: Because scientist have said that being fat is bad, and celebritites make us think fat is bad. It is part of this stupid "thin is in" fad that popular people started for no reason, and everyone believes that if you are fat, you are unhealthy. In reality, none of that is true. You can be overweight and still healthy. Hell, I know a plump vegan who is in perfect condition. Plus, what do celebrities know? Sorry, but they are still just people with opinions, and i say their opinions shouldn't matter. I also say another person's opinion doesn't matter. You are to believe what ever you want. My opinion (although I just said it doesn't matter) is that fat is good.

and, here's another bit of information: in the Middle Ages, larger women were adored more than skinny women. Why? It was a sign that they ate well, therefor rich. Thin women were very sickly, and probably riddled with diesease. that is why some paintings of women from that time are of plump women.

It certainly sounds like a healthy weight to me.

You're tall, muscular, and going through the essential growth spurts of puberty, so it seems good.

What really raises my ire is that people automatically think a fat person is unhealthy. Not true. Being big means you are big. Eating unhealthy foods means you are unhealthy. There is this nice girl I know who is a vegan. She weighs over 200 pounds, yet is quite healthy. Another girl is an athlete who plays soccer and baseball. She's over 220 pounds.

Being fat, I like. Being unhealthy is what I worry about. BUt, just because you are big doesn't mean anything other than you are big. The problem is no one knows that.

The fat BUDDHA ( wink ) concept came from the polytheistic sects of Buddhism, which introduced various Buddhist gods (kind of an oxymoron, but whatever sweatdrop ). One of these gods is Hotei, the god of contentment and happiness. He's the guy with a big belly, large ear lobes, and a bag over his shoulder--- I'm sure most people have seen the figurines of him. He's basically the "happy fat guy". whee The whole belly rubbing for good luck concept came from him as well. ^^

So many people don't realize that they're actually visualizing Hotei, rather than Buddha/Siddhartha. It's a very common misconception, sadly. sweatdrop

And I agree, being fat isn't bad--- in most cases. Though others may beg to differ with me, having a lot of fat does make way for many problems or potential problems. For example, your hormone production isn't as good. To give an understandable example of this, I'm sure some of you may know that the heavier you are, the longer it takes for you to get drunk (in most cases). That's because heavier people need more alcohol running through their vast blood stream in order for their blood alcohol level to go up. The same thing applies to hormones. I, for one, experiance this... but I won't get into it, as it's a personal problem. sweatdrop

I'd say that once you get around 350-400 pounds, you should really start monitoring your health a lot more--- just to make sure that you won't run into something bad. Too much fat isn't good for anyone, just as being too thin isn't good for anyone. =/

I knew I forgot a letter. T-T

Anyway, why would you want to get drunk faster? What other examples are there of hormonal malfunction?
