Oh great. Another fun situation to try and get out of. The young foal stared at the unfamiliar landscape with a silent huff and scuffed at the ground with his front right hoof. His gaze swung from side to side without much luck of deciding where to go. He had to face the only conclusion - he was lost.
Hadyn Star gazed around with a critical eye. There was no one that he could ask directions from. Kneeling on all fours and sinking to the ground he sighed before nibbling at a bit of the grass in front of him. At least the stuff was edible. His ears he kept pricked for any sounds. Maybe someone would come along to help him out.

There was someone nearby, but whether he would feel inclined to help or not was a different thing entirely. A large angeni stallion made his way over to the foal, unaware the small colt was there. That was, until he got close enough to see the bright blue against the green grass. He stuck out like a sore thumb. Auster frowned, stopping a few yards away. He could avoid the the colt... He considered it. But after taking a quick look around, it was obvious he was alone. A colt like that shouldn't have wandered away from his mother.
Taking a deep sigh, he continued toward the foal. "What are you doing out here by yourself?"

At the sound of a voice coming from behind him Hadyn tried to rise to his feet. The fact he did so in a hurry probably caused the colt to land in an undignified heap at the hooves of the one who had spoken. Black and white met his eyes as he slowly raised his head to glance up at the Soquili before him. Wings adorned the stallion's back and Hadyn let a small noise, like a gulp, escape. The words he wanted refused to come for him. This wasn't like the colt at all. He was usually calm but being in the presence of this Angeni had him feeling nervous as one could be.
Shaking his head back and forth in frustration Hadyn finally found the courage to speak. The words came out quieter than he had planned.
"I'm not."

He frowned more as the colt fell. What was wrong with ground horses? Sighing, he waited for him to speak, frowning even more as he did. Had he missed the colt's mother? He took another glance around, then turned back to the blue foal, raising an eyebrow at him. "Oh? It sure seems like you're alone. I don't see anyone else, do you?" His voice was more than a little condescending, but it might always sound like that.
"I don't see any one else for miles. Its just you, and me."

Hadyn's hoof scuffed the ground again. He caught the raising of the stallion's eyebrow and the condescension in his tone. Hadyn tried hard not to let the anger simmering beneath his skin show. What was it to this stallion if he was alone? No one had really cared before. It was time to be blunt.
"When I say that I'm not alone well in a way - it's the truth. I've always been alone."
That said Hadyn's tail swished silently from side to side in slight agitation. Probably this was the only indication of how he felt at the moment.

"Ah. You say you're not alone because you normally are alone and this is a regular occurrence for you? I see." He thought this over for a moment, then shook his head, his copious amounts of mane swaying about his head. "Technically though, you are still out here by yourself. But seeing as you apparently have no one to be with, I suppose that does nullify my question."
"It is a shame though," he continued. "These days a child shouldn't be out alone. You don't have anyone to look out for you?" Not that he particularly cared. He was just curious. It wasn't like he was about to offer to take care of a ground colt.

Hadyn's ears flicked back at forth catching the sound of the Angeni stallion's voice as he spoke seemingly to himself at first. It seemed that perhaps the stallion believed him somewhat. The young colt merely listened until the stallion asked him a question directly.
"I haven't had really anyone to look out for me. I was alone when I came out of my basket and it's been that way since. I tend to keep to myself most times."
Hadyn Star glanced at the stallion before him as his curiosity arose.
"So who are you?"

"I see." An abandoned basket, hm? He wondered if the mother had died, or if she had just left it. Even to him abandonment seemed wrong, though... when he thought about it, he couldn't remember his own mother. Had he been abandoned too? His brow furrowed. He just didn't know.
It took him a moment to realize the foal had asked him a question. "Hm? My name is Auster."

"Au-ster. That's an odd name."
Probably not the most logical thing to say to this Angeni stallion given the circumstance. But Hadyn was still young. He scuffed at the earth before glancing around at his surroundings. There was still nothing vaguely familiar about the landscape and he'd wished he had paid more attention earlier.
"Do you perhaps think you could tell me where I am?"

To the stallion, that was an odd thing to ask. Auster regarded the colt for a moment before answering. "I would think, that as you are alone, it would be wise of you to stick to areas that you know, don't you agree?"
"But, since you have not, and I am feeling patient enough to deal with you today, I will inform you that you are on the plains, on the outskirts of the forest. The forest covers much of the land, I do believe. Is that of any help to you?"
