Kyou Kara Maou or Kyo Kara Maoh (English version) is a story about a 15 years old boy named Yuri, who got flushed down the toilet and ended up in another world. He then became the new king of the demon race and found himself engaged to another boy and he was the one who proposed, unknowingly! His mission is to stop an all out war between the demon race and the human race.
Kyou Kara Maou is a mixture of fantasy, role-playing, drama, shounen-ai, and most of all comedy. This series flushed its main character down the toilet in the very first episode, so don't take any thing in it seriously. If you're looking for a series with a great plot and keeps you on the edge of your seat, then Kyou Kara Maou is NOT what you're looking for. If you're looking for a series that makes you laugh and has cute, likeable characters, then you have come to the right place. This show has a lot of silly moments, cute animals, gay jokes, pretty people, and the most useless demon sword ever. Out of all the main characters, the only "normal" characters seem to be Conrad and Adalbert. The rest are for comic relief.
Just to clear up some confusions, Kyou Kara Maou is NOT a yaoi series. There are shounen-ai (boys love) elements in it, but they are mostly used as humor. Yuri got engaged to Wolfram by accident due to different customs, but through out the series he seems to be more interested in girls than boys. If you don't like gay jokes, then stay away from this show.
